Chuck's Plumbing

In August, 2015 we chose Chuck's Plumbing (based on an Angie's List rating) to move our water softener to a different location in our garage and to repair it which included putting a new head on it. We paid $2380 for this. When the softener was not working, they came out in November and totally replaced the inside of the softener, for another $649. We called Chuck's at least 4 times by April for softener issues. First, the plumber said the guys who set it up had an incorrect setting so we were not getting soft water. The next time the plumber said the guy before didn't flip a switch. The next time we called because water was spraying all over the garage from the softener. In May, after still not getting consistently soft water we called Chuck and after we insisted that he come out himself, he apologized for the problems, said he had seen that we were calling repeatedly and should have come out himself earlier. He reset the water softener?, ran a manual cycle, said it was 1 grain off and that it needed a new valve. He promised to be back the next Monday, but he never came back and never called again. At this point we were not calling Chuck back and called another plumber who told us that once Chuck's replaced the head on our softener it cannot be reprogrammed. The 1 grain off and defective valve was a mystery to him. Basically what Chuck told us about our water capacity was incorrect, it cannot be reprogrammed and we will never have soft water consistently unless we buy a new unit. We are totally disgusted at Chuck's Plumbing and assume that the way he got to the top of Angie's List is because he paid for the advertising.

It went very well. The staff communicated very well and set the appointment. The technician arrived when they were scheduled. A great experience.

Very professional business. Everyone i spoke with including the plumber that came out were very professional which is hard to find. Plumber came by and inspected my home's plumbing and made some recommendations to get fixed which was helpful as i just purchased the home. In the end, I ended up getting the issues fixed by another company yesterday as the pricing from the other company were 1/3 of what i was quoted from Chuck's.

Called to take advantage of Angie's list coupon camera inspection and drain clean and Chuck said we don't come over on weekends with this deal. I said we could do it during the week and asked for the latest appointment he had as we work. He said he could come between 3 and 5 but sounded very annoyed and added it will be close to 5 for the coupon deal. He said "you have to understand I can't pay my people overtime for this cheaper deal". Didn't ask for overtime. He really sounded put out and kept going on about the cheap price stressing that it needed to be earlier in the day--weekdays only for the deal. He said the ad mentions HE can make the rules. Guess he doesn't want our business. I understand he makes the rules for his own business and I understand not wanting to pay folks overtime. Just can't for the life of me understand the attitude. We could have turned out to be a solid, repeat customer. Not now. I'll call someone else happy for my business and with better customer service skills.

This did not sit well with me as I felt taken. Angie's list reviews are designed to help people to not get caught in this type of come on. I hope that this prevents others from getting over charged. I believe that their business model is because they are already in your home you will probably do the work.

The kitchen sink leak was just loose and a tightening of the pipe fixed the leak. The bathroom sink needed a replacement of the faucet. We went ahead with the repair with the advice that there was some prior damage to the sink bowl that could impact use later on. I am planning to redo the bathroom in the future so I'm hoping it holds until after that. The poor toilet is just old and will need to be replaced. We decided to skip the replacement of the toilet for now hoping it will last until we redo the bathrooms.

Mike, our tech came and did an excellent job lifting and stabilizing the sink onto the counter. He not only explained what he was doing, and why, but answered all of our questions thoroughly . We will definally call this company for any further plumbing problems .Excellent and prompt service! We also felt the costs were fair.

They were excellent, very responsive came out the next day and told me how much it was going to be, and professional.

The installation was good. The man was quite nice and did a good job. When I asked about the handicap bars in my showers, he was going to charge me 300 per bar for 3 bars. He said the bars cost 40 dollars, and the remainder was going to be labor cost. I ended up going with another company who performed the installation of the three bars for only 200 dollars. The work performed was good, but the price was high.

I wasn't too satisfied with it. Their deal was kind of limited from what they described online. It actually cost me quite a bit more to get a different toilet and have them install it. I wasn't too happy with that.

Technician was on time and pleasant, did the work requested in addition to giving quotes for other minor work. The quotes for a new faucet in the kitchen seemed high, so I'm not sure that I would engage them for that work, however the correspondence and work for what I paid for was done very well.

Bobby was a great to work with. Very professional and was able to answer any questions asked. He gave us several quotes that could be gradually get replaced. He represents your company well and I would definitely as for him when I get the work done. The prices quoted were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend and use this company again.

Never happened and still has my money.

They were prompt in scheduling an appointment. They showed up on time. They did the work with no hitched and cleaned up. The plumber was polite, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable and clean. It felt like the plumber had been trained in customer service.

When the service tech arrived he immediately let me know that they (Chuck's) are not Rainbird water system techs but would look at it. He worked on the system for about 20 minutes basically manually running it through the cycle and stated he could not find anything wrong. Likely it was stuck on a cycle due to power failure. He didn't charge me for the visit. I really enjoyed his honesty and understanding that not everyone is a water softener system guru. If this tech is indicative of the people Chuck has working for him, then you can't go wrong using them.

The company was very responsive. I initially purchased a water heater flush special from Angie's List but after inspection it was apparent that the bottom element was not working and the 18 year heater was way past its lifespan. I received a quote and sate on it and checked on other quotes before calling them back to schedule the install. They accommodated me with a Saturday morning install and Bobby performed the work efficiently and professionally. I liked it that they used soldered copper pipes/sections for the water inlet and outlet rather than flexible piping.

This is second time we have contracted with Chuck and I can honestly say I feel like I have been dealing with a family member. Chuck and his staff do not cut corners, nor do they attempt to mislead people with sales-double talk. The work took about two days to complete and I was always able to ask questions and not be ignored or belittled. The plumbers were conscientious and tidy so I really did not have to clean up messes. The City inspector was very pleased with the work. Chuck came each day of work. All in all, it was such a relief to have decent, polite people do this work. There were other smaller things that the crew not only offered to us on their own and took care with no additional cost to us. This is the way all contractors should be! Call them.

Our plumber was professional and very polite. Very understanding, too. Explained I was looking to find out what deficiencies we had, and what he would recommend. Put together an estimate for new toilets, a plumbing turn-off valve for water coming into the house and more. All reasonably priced in my opinion. Couldn't really ask Chuck's for more. Still debating on whether or not we'll move forward with all the found repairs, as they are "nice to haves" and not "broken"...yet

Plumber had to return, but still didn't get the job done.

We had a great experience from the first phone call. We talked to Jasmine, and she was polite, understood the problem, and handled the issue with concern. She immediately scheduled Mike to come out and locate the leak. Mike was extremely competent, professional, and found the water issue without incident. Mike informed us that he was going to contact the office and they will have someone get in touch with us regarding the repair (s). Before Mike was down the street, we were contacted by Chuck's plumbing. Barbara (office manager) scheduled a plumber to come out and give us an estimate. We had Vinny come out, look at the job and review Mike's report. Vinny was also extremely competent, professional and found an excellent way to repair the leak without added expense or possible damage to our newly remodeled bathroom. We scheduled for the work to be done. Vinny showed up on time, and had Robert (plumber) with him. Like Vinny, Rob was polite, competent, and professional. The work that was done exceeded my expectations and completed in a timely manner. Our home was left clean, and we're very happy with the work. In a nutshell, this was a big job and could have been done a multitude of way's. Everyone at Chuck's Plumbing treated us like the problem was one of their own people's issue. They came up with an extremely competent and cost effective way to repair the leak, and executed it perfectly.

From the beginning the work was done in a responsible and professional manner. The +++ are for the additional time and what turned out to be a WONDERFUL bonus for us. As the work was proceeding I spoke to Vinnie about the drain problem we were having in the tub. We had hired a local company to install a tub surround and new tub overlay. The "plumber" they sent did not do what needed to be done and this was the source of the tub not draining. However,the company was argumentative and non-responsive. Chuck went ahead on his own and contacted the company telling them that they basically needed to treat their customers right. I was not aware that he had spoken for us nor did I know that he was sending Vinnie to oversee and give support and guidance to the non-plumber this company sent to my house. We were not charged for the time-hours-that it took to remedy this situation. I will never forget how Chuck and staff treated us and we are so very grateful.
