They installed a travertine kitchen backsplash. Brian is very meticulous. He and his helper were very professional and courteous. He added some nice touches to my design that I had not thought of. I was very pleased with the result.

I contacted Brian Shute of Ceramictec based on his many positive Angie's List reviews. He came to our home to evaluate the project -- and material selection -- and offered suggestions on how best to install, what additional items to consider and purchase. Within a day, he provided a detailed written estimate. We then scheduled the tear-out and installation days.
Brian assumed responsibility for ordering tile and trim, and picked them up from the supplier.
He arrived promptly on all days as promised. He and Jake tore out the existing tile and repaired all damaged areas in preparation for subsequent installation.
On installation day, he and Jake meticulously cut and installed approximately 45 square feet of split-face marble tile - a notoriously-difficult product -- over two days. They returned the third day to finish a few details, including some grouting.
Brian and Jake are pleasant, thorough and real craftsmen. They worked diligently and completed the project on time and as promised. I will use Ceramictec again and highly recommend them.

Brian and his crew were very professional. He came out and met with me to discuss the job. We had a tight time frame to work with and he workedwith it very well- he was here early and was finished before 5.
We had the Granite guys here the same time, which having Brian here helped me a great deal with an issue with the granite.
Brian is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I would definitely hire him again and plan to refer him to everyone I know.

Brian and his team member did fantastic work. We provided the marble tiles and the grout, they did the rest. We wanted the tiles placed on the diagonal which, as you can see in the pictures, was no problem. I had major issues getting the right accent tiles and Brian went above and beyond and picked them up for me on his way. I have no reservations recommending Ceramictec. They do top notch, professional work.

We had our wood floors ruined by water. Instead of installing wood again, we purchase Heathland Pecan 6 X 24 wood look planks. I took quite a bit of time looking for a tile contractor but after seeing several pictures online and reading comments, I felt very comfortable with Brian, the owner of Ceramictec doing the work.
Brian came in the day after the wood floors were ripped up and inspected the concrete. He fixed an area that needed to be leveled with concrete so that the tile would lay properly. This was not something that he had expected to do, but seemed to take it in stride.
On Monday, Brian and his helper came back and started to lay the tile. I don't think that I have ever seen a contractor take so much pride in his work. The job took all week. Brian was organized, clean, punctual (if not early), honest and careful with every tile that he laid. When he did an area of grout to see how it looked, it was much lighter then the samples. We quickly picked out another grout, picked it up and the job was completed on time.
We have had Brian call several times to be sure that we are happy and like the floors. I feel like if we ever need any tile work done in any house we own (current or future homes) I will definitely have Ceramictec do the job and would recommend him highly to others.

This company and the owner Brian are class acts, from the initial visit with me and my wife he was professional and thorough. He measured and gave me a written quote immediately. I did get 3 bids and he was not the cheapest but was more knowledgeable and easy to communicate with than the others. We choose his company and he scheduled the job, he helped us pick out tile from the warehouse and grout and made suggestions and recommendations that we needed drastically. He showed up with his helpers and worked with them but he made the decisions and did most of the layout and install. He removed a thick buildup of thin set from the original builders grade flooring. For some reason the floor thin set was built up over a inch and half throughout, which took a good while longer than Brian initially planned as he did not know what was underneath the tile. He never said a word about changing his proposal. He is very clean with his work and was respectful of the surroundings. When it was time to grout the finished tile he used our grout selection and my wife did not like how it looked, there was no problem he went to the supply store with us and we picked out another grout color from another manufacturer, he removed the sample he did for us and proceeded to complete the job. He dealt with a puppy Doberman I have being in his way and wanting to play every time they went outside to cut tile or get supplies. This company and the owner Brian are top notch and I will definitely use again on any project me or my family have. My sister has now contacted him for an estimate. It is a pleasure to deal with a professional company and a owner who cares about the finished product and service. I would recommend him to everyone and I am one of those picky owners.

Brian was wonderful to work with. We initially consulted with him on a question about our bathroom floor design and we were so impressed with his professionalism and knowledge we had him bid our job.
He wasn't the least expensive nor the most but the detail of his quote and the expertise he brought into the discussions convinced us to go with him. We also checked with other folks that had worked with Brian and they were also very happy. Once he began working on our bathroom, (tile walls, and floor) we knew we had made a good choice. We were constantly impressed by his precision and workmanship. His tile joints are exactly level, the grout width is exactly the same from one end to the other.
We are thoroughly pleased and have scheduled Brian back to do another bath floor and pantry area.

I contacted Brian because we needed to redo a tile job that had been botched by another person.
Brian was quick to respond and provide an estimate for doing the tub surround correctly. His price was fair and he was able to come do the work in a very reasonable amount of time. He was friendly and professional. To say that he is skilled at his trade would be an understatement. Both my husband and I are really impressed with his work. Brian is meticulous, which I can certainly appreciate. The tiles are perfectly aligned and spaced, the joints are tight and the lines are very clean. When comparing his work (e.g., the tub surround) to the tile on the opposite wall, which was done by someone else, Brian's attention to detail really stands out. He does things the right way the first time, which is invaluable especially after having a job done poorly by someone else prior to him.
One thing that definitely bears mentioning is how well he cleans up after himself. The previous guy had left us with all of the debris to dispose of ourselves, tile haze, a filthy floor and a tub full of tile pieces, dirt, piles of dried grout and caulk, and more. (And this was in a brand new tub, no less!) After that experience, I was extremely pleased to see that Brian had not only removed the haze from and polished the tiles, but he had also mopped the floor and wiped down our vanity and toilet. He hauled his own debris away. He also replaced a chipped glass tile on the vanity/toilet wall for us, which was not within the scope of his work, but was something that the previous worker had installed. He fixed a few other issues as well. Thanks Brian, that saved us a lot of time!
In closing, it was a good experience, and I would recommend him to anyone for tile work. It feels nice that we now have a shower that will last and that we will not be facing more mold problems in the future.

""prima donna"? yes, I like to make sure the work is done right and will last. I'm skilled and schooled in proper installation methods and materials. your the typical "house flipping realtor" who doesn't care what the next person gets when "attempting" to do a home project, just how cheaply you can do it. looked at your other tile guy recommendation, he is already out of business."

Brian came on time and was friendly and professional. He did a fantastic job on the floor and cleaned up after. The result is beautiful. He truly cares about and takes pride in his work. The price ws very reasonable. While he was doing the job he even helped me to get rid of a hornets nest I hadn't noticed outside my house. I highly reccomend him to anyone planning to have tile installed.

Brian and his crew did an OUTSTANDING job! They arrived on time (8am every day) and started working right away. They did everything they stated they would do: tore out the carpet and old tile, moved all the appliances, installed the new tile, grouted, and cleaned everything up. They were extremely meticulous! Brian knows his business/trade and his work is top quality! As you can see from the "before" and "after" picture attached, it looks terrific! Our friends all thought it was real wood because Brian laid it in a random pattern. We absolutely love it! We wouldn't hire anyone else for tile work except CeramicTec Tile!!!

I scheduled the work 2 weeks aead of time and Brian was prompt to begin the work. He had recommended several steps we should take and supplies we should get ahead of time, which was very useful.

The work took 2 days for him and his partner... They did a very good, professional job.... The small marble tiles were perfectly installed. They were very neat and were conscienceous about doing a final clean-up of the kitchen. They also did extra work and chalked some seams missed by the granite counter-top installers. I'm happy with his work and will hire him again.

We decided to install plank tile that resembles wood in our kitchen/hall if we could find a good reproduction. We knew we needed 1) tile with a rectified edge for the smallest possible grout lines, 2) grout the same color as the tile, 3) tile that fit with the rest of our original oak floors, and 4) an installer who understood the vision and knew how to make it happen!

Searching for “tile that looks like wood” I found Brian’s name on an internet blog and saw pictures of his work. He has plenty of experience with and quot;woodand quot; tile. I checked him out on Angie’s List and read great reviews. I called for an estimate and he came right away. He brought samples of tile he used on other jobs and explained how critical it is to the end result to buy tile that is flat and straight. He suggested a couple brands and through Brian we found our “shaved” porcelain tile.

My husband removed the old tile, purchased the new tile and baseboards and we selected the grout color. Brian and Toby arrived promptly as scheduled and immediately went to work. They finished everything in 2 days and it looks fabulous. I’m attaching pictures which speak for themselves. Note in the pictures that Brian didn’t lay the tile in a repeat pattern (halves or thirds); he lays it randomly which also contributes to the realistic end result. They did an excellent job with all the details. For example, our old oak threshold (1954) into the family room was crooked so Brian and Toby custom cut a new one at a slight angle to perfectly line up with the doorway. An unexpected and appreciated improvement.

Looking at the floor we realize no matter how great your plank tile is, without the correct installation it could easily be spoiled. This is where you need Brian.

To summarize the project: I'm so glad we found Brian to do these renovations for us! The job went absolutely perfect!

I'm a bit of perfectionist. I never thought a project like this would go so smoothly! I anticipated there would be problems along the way. It's the normal nature of dealing with most contractors. Not with Brian though.

It was obvious from the first day Brian walked in to start working that he knew his business well. He covered the floors in dropclothes. He brought his tools and went right to work. No standing around thinking waht to do next. No trying to make small-talk to waste time. Step by step, he worked through each process of the demolition and rebuild. Cleaning up between each phase of the process, and properly preparing for the next step.

I believe Bryan was here for 4 or 5 days for the Master Shower. A couple of the day were partial days because with both the installation of the shower pan, and the application of the HydroBarrier there was some extended drying time involved. That's just the nature of those materials. Bryan didn't rush it though. He allowed proper drying time so the products will not prematurely fail at some later date. He worked hard the entire time. He installed the tile perfectly. Everything was nicely balanced. Way better than I ever imagined!

As Master Shower finished, I immediately hired Brian for the Hall Bath too. He completed that project in about 2 or 3 days. Since there was no shower pan to float, it took much less time. But again, it turned out wonderful!

All I can say is and quot;Hire this guy!and quot; His work is remarkably excellent. His prices are a bargain for his quality of work. And he gets the job done without cutting any corners. He stays there until it's done right. I have not a bad thing to say about either of the projects. I'd refer him to anyone.

"Hi Member, It was a pleasure doing the showers for you and I'm very happy you and your wife are pleased with the results. I always try to do the best work I can with the best material and make the customer happy with the final product. The referrals I get down the road far out weight making a quick buck doing a rushed job. thanks again, Brian"

I sent Brian at Ceramictec pictures of my fireplace via email. He provided me an approximate quote. We then agreed to meet to measure the fireplace, discuss options, and finalize the contract. Brian made some excellent color recommendations. The stone arrived within a couple weeks. Ceramictec resurfaced the fireplace in two days. It looks fantastic and has dramatically changed the look of the room. Brian takes his work/art very seriously and is extremely professional. I would highly recommend him for a masonry or tile work. www.ceramictec.com

Brian did a fabulous job. It turned out better than we could have ever expected. He made recommendations along the way (tile lay out, etc) which turned out perfect. We had some unused space between the exisitng shower and our vanity which he recommended extending it out giving us approx 4 more inches on the width, what a difference! He paid particular attention to detail making sure everything was right. Brian always acted in a professional manner. The project took 4 days, he was always on time and completed the project when promised and left the work area clean. He did stay later the final day to save from having to return which saved both his time and ours. We would definitely recommend Brian to anyone and would not hesitate to call him if we need any other tile work done. We would have rated him better than A's if it was possible!

There was a potentially devastating hiccup midway in the job: With about 500 sq ft of tile placed, Brian (the contractor) discovered the remaining tiles were a slightly different size. What happened was the tile manufqcturer had multiple manufacturing facilities - we had tile manufactured in the US as well as Italy, each with slightly different sizes. Even though all boxes were marked identically, the sizes didn't match. The manufacturer's rep came out and confirmed the mixup and had all new tile shipped in from Ohio to redo the job. Brian had to rip out all the tile he had set and completely redo the entire job. In spite of this, the work was professional and beautifully done. You can read more about a part of the job that required a thoughtful approach at Brian's website http://ceramictec.com/tile-to-tile-transition including a few pictures.
Response from Ceramictec Tile Contractor
"Thanks, glad I could have helped in installing the dream floor that you wanted and also get over the small manufacturer problem quickly. I was able to contact the company, distributor and the outside rep and expedite them to fix it fast. would have hated to see a tile company with no experience try to tackle that situation. :)"
