I have used them a couple of times before. I went with them because I've heard of them all my life. They've been in business for a long time and I believe that someone who is business for that long should be pretty good. I'm not really sure whether it's the roof that I have or the type that I have is any good for any length of time for the warranty. I am just unhappy that it seems to only be for five years before they have to put another one. I think I am going to try to find another outfit to do my roofing next time. It went bad just before the 5 year warranty was ran off but I won't be able to get any claim done. It is a built up roof. It seems to me that they really know what they doing and they are really prompt about doing it. They have a lot of business. They got here as soon as they were able to. I might use them in the future but I'm going to check with some other people because I just don't see that 5 years is a good warranty, we spend $5000 on something.

I reached out to Bill Shields Roofing last November to put on a new roof for both our home and our business. Bill Shields was both very punctual and communicated very well. Bill Shields was able to match another quote that we got from another company which was what ended up making us choose him. I would use Bill Shields Roofing again in the future.

Bill Shields hired via my insurance company's recommend restoration contractor. They were timely/quick on the estimate and promptly scheduled repair. Repair crew arrived on time and completed repair satisfactorly. Crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves.

TERRIBLE!

Anytime I have needed their service I had to chase them after the 'front line' receptionist takes a message. It is unprofessional to put in a call and in 2or 3 days hear nothing back and when I actually get to the one who 'schedules', she acts as though she never got a message...no apology...3 times I've experienced this and I am by my phone all the time and they have prior experience with me. To this day I do not know for certain if the last job was actually performed and have yet to receive a bill! So..the office staff seems dysfunctional, but their trades people seem OK.

The first time we used them was in 1983 and we can speak highly of them. They are very reliable and the work came in on time. They cleaned up and I didn't have any more leaks. They did the work as they were supposed to. They have been in business for a long time and I continue to use them.

The best thing I can say about our experience with Bill Shields Roofing is that their employees were on time for their scheduled appointment. Beyond that, they were completely unprofessional - they failed to identify themselves or provide any identification, they have failed to provide a written estimate, and while I understand that roofing is a business where you get sweaty and dirty, I don't think that it's too much to ask that you put a shirt on before entering a potential customer's house!!! After looking at the water damaged ceilings inside and spending a few minutes (no more than 5) on the roof, one of the guys knocked and gave us a "ballpark estimate" to patch the leaks and indicated that they would discuss the job with their supervisor and they would mail us an estimate. We indicated a desire to move forward with the job ASAP and asked if they could fax/email the quote but more than a week later, we have not received anything from them. In addition, they failed to provide us with any info about the source/cause of the leaks, the general state of the roof, etc. We had been told by another roofer that we had significant issues with water getting in under the shingles and the nails rusting away because the wrong shingles had been installed on our roof. When we asked if that was the cause of the leaks, the guy said "I guess that could be the problem." - definitely not the confidence booster one hopes for when hiring someone to work on their home.

They were very pleasant and straight forward. They showed up in a timely fashion and even gave a follow up call.

He got there very promptly for the estimate. They did the work a week later and everything was right on target as far as the price. The job and the warranty are great. They don't charge for their estimates.

They did beautiful work, they were very professional. They got it done by the deadline they set. I would recommend them very highly and I would use them again.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON REPLACING MY SHINGLE AND BUILT-UP GRAVEL ROOFS. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T SET SPECIFIC APPOINTMENTS, BUT SOMEONE WOULD COME OVER NEXT WEEK. THEY SAID I DIDN'T NEED TO BE HOME. THE LADY SAID THAT AFTER THE SALESMAN EVALUATED MY ROOFING NEEDS, HE WOULD SEND ME AN ESTIMATE IN THE MAIL. FIRST, I HAD A LEAK IN MY HOUSE AND WAS IN DESPERATE OF A ROOFER. SECONDLY, HOW COULD THEY GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE WHEN THEY DIDN'T KNOW SPECIFICALLY WHAT I WANTED. THE LADY TOLD ME I COULD CALL AND DISCUSS THE ESTIMATE ONCE I RECEIVED IT. I DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY THE DID BUSINESS, SO I CALLED AND CANCELED THEIR VISIT. APPARENTLY THEY CAME OUT ANYWAY, AS A WEEK LATER I RECEIVED THEIR ESTIMATE IN THE MAIL. RELUCTANTLY I DECIDED TO CALL AND ASK THEM SOME QUESTIONS. I CALLED TWICE AND ONLY GOT A RECORDING, SO I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THEM TO RETURN MY CALL. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK! I WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH A COMPANY WHO SHOWS SO LITTLE REGARD FOR ME.
