"Thank you for this wonderful review! It has been such a pleasure working with your family!! The ALEI Team"
"[Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for the wonderful review!! It truly was a pleasure working with you all!! Sincerely, The Andrea Lauren Team"
I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
"Thank you for your kind words and recommendation. What a great couple to work with. The pleasure was ours. Priscilla Castellano, IDS"
Lauren Elegant Interiors to assist us in this undertaking based on reviews from
Angie?s List and discussions with them concerning our expectations. We worked
with both Andrea and Priscilla and found each professional and experts at their
profession. Andrea was our closest contact and she worked very hard to ensure
our approval and satisfaction with our final choices. She spent a lot of time
bringing in paint samples and painting areas of our walls so we could get a
better idea of what we liked and didn?t like. She never showed any frustration or
weariness with our indecision and request to see more colors. She always
emphasized she wanted to ensure our happiness with the final results of her
work. It took some time to arrive at the colors for the painters but the
selection for flooring etc. went relatively quick. Soon we had people in the
house working and anytime my wife or I detected a problem it only took one
phone call and Andrea was here checking and correcting the situation. I was so
glad I did not have to deal with the subcontractors and had someone working on
my behalf who had been down these roads before and knew how to deal with them.
I have no difficulty or hesitation in recommending Andrea
Lauren Elegant Interiors to anyone who is looking for someone to help in
deciding what they want to do in their home and then stepping back and letting
Andrea and Priscilla work their magic.
INFO: Major work on the house was completed in mid 2014 but
we still had dealings in purchasing different items with the last item to
complete everything arriving 04-04-2015. Priscilla went into work on an off day
just so I could pick up the final chair I had ordered.
"Thank you so much for your honest review! It was great working with you and Jane on your home, and of course everything turned out great :) We hope to be able to help you on any projects you may have in the future! Sincerely, Priscilla & Andrea"
We were not looking to spend thousands of dollars, but we knew we had to make some changes and additions in order to compete with other high end properties in our area given the location, uniqueness, and what our property does not have that other homes in this price range does offer. Although we are not looking to sell our home, we know if the time does come and we want to sell, there were items like custom window treatments, drapes, and plantation shutters, that we simply had to address sooner rather than later, which would more than pay for themselves over time with the savings in our electric bills alone. Our home had NO window treatments, shutters, or drapes. We had box sets of 3 inch faux wood/plastic blinds in our bathroom windows, and nothing covering any other windows or sliders anywhere else, and we have A LOT of windows! From day one, Priscilla and Andrea were wonderful to work with. We started with a very dark earth toned palate, and now have the custom mix of Mediterranean/Italian/Spanish styles we love, in a welcoming and refreshing family setting. We love the more traditional styles and darker woods, with browns and tans, but Priscilla was able to move us towards colors that would brighten our home interior, work well with the multicolored rustic Travertine stone flooring throughout the main part of the home, and compliment the dark wood cabinetry and stairway. What we ended up doing after meeting with Priscilla and Andrea, was a complete makeover of the home interior. Our project was not without reservations along the way, especially considering costs, time, and having people in and out of our home for a few months, and often times it took a lot of faith in Priscilla to take her advice and just trust her recommendations. The quote we heard the most: "Just wait till it all comes together at the end, and you are gonna love it", is exactly what we had to do on a few occasions, but we are more than delighted that we took her advice and reserved judgment till everything came together in the end. We made some changes after ordering fabrics for the master bedroom drapes, and went with totally new fabrics and colors, because we originally picked out color schemes we thought we would love, but felt somewhat unsettled on. Priscilla was able to stop the orders and get us colors and schemes we are very pleased with, and in the end we are relieved we made the changes.
DO's:
1.) Take the time to really think about what you want to accomplish, vs. what you need to accomplish.
2.) Do your homework on resale values added with the projects you might address, and see if there is the potential for return on the investment of interior decorating, design, and remodeling before committing to any work to be done. To our surprise, the simple need for a custom couch turned into a larger scale project, that will add value to our home at resale, and provided us with an environment we now feel is more like a home than a rental. Its ours, and we know just simple things like new paint helped calm the atmosphere!
3.) Stay in touch with Priscilla and Andrea, and call them directly if there is anything of concern whether its for updates on deliver schedules, or working with their contractors. Never feel afraid to discuss anything with Priscilla, and do not hesitate to say no if you truly feel something is not quite what you want.
4.) Wait till the end when you see it all come together! I know this is easier said than done. I am a control freak, and have to see everything as the completed picture. It was very difficult for me to let go and trust anyone suggesting the type of substantial changes we were being presented with in terms of paint, accents, and trims. Especially considering we were only looking for a couch when we started! But, when Priscilla comes and does a complete in home consultation, consider what she is suggesting, trust her knowledge and expertise, and perhaps consider the upside to doing things you might not have thought you wanted or needed at the moment.
5.) Be honest with your budget constraints, and communicate this to Priscilla from day one. This will make her job easier, and get you results and furnishing items you will sincerely love, and will not delay the process with changes or revisions. Priscilla suggested a beautiful custom lounge chair for our living room, but it was not an option with our budget. The problem now is we still love that chair, and will probably never be satisfied with anything else, but simply cannot justify the cost!
DON'T's:
1.) Don't hesitate to voice your concerns or dislikes! If you do not tell Priscilla if something is not quite what you wanted, you are stuck with something you are not ultimately happy with, and you paid for it!
2.) If you have any issues with a contractor not showing or showing up late, don't dismiss this or not say anything! Call Priscilla and she will address it. Her reputation definitely means more to her than anything, and she is always available to discuss anything that comes up during projects.
3.) If something is not right, or if the price is not within your budget, don't be afraid to say NO! We learned early on, that although we have a high end home, we did not need to spend thousands of dollars on certain items to get the look we wanted. Most of our expenses came from things that added value to the home overall- Plantation Shutters, Custom Drapes and Window Treatments, a custom couch that we could leave and sell with the home due to the shape and size of the family room, and updating and adding Light Fixtures and Chandeliers were more than 75% of our costs.
4.) Don't expect the project to be done in one week, and know that you need to be ready to have people in your home and space.
5.) Don't schedule projects or installations when you know you will need to leave your home unless you are completely comfortable with someone being in the home unsupervised.
We enjoy the professional and creative approach so much, that we are working with her again!!
The process was smooth and painless! Priscilla met with my husband to view the furniture in the Valrico house and get an idea of what items were important to him and which items we needed to move to the new location. We went through color charts together to come up with some new ideas for wall colors. I like walls with lots of color, while my husband prefers white, so Priscilla helped us to come to decision that would please both of us.
On move day, I met with the movers at the Valrico home to point out what items to move. Priscilla met us at the Temple Terrace house and as things were unloaded from the truck she worked with the movers on furniture placement and setting up each room. She continued working with an assistant during the day to help unpack and install various items such as 50+ boxes of books and numerous decorations and keep sakes.
All told, Priscilla had our master bedroom set up by mid morning so that we could have a sanctuary to use that night. By the end of the day all the major pieces were in place and the pictures were starting to go up.
It took a few more hours, but within a short time the walls had art work placed and the home was in order. Later Priscilla assisted me in purchasing a few additional items that we felt we needed to make the home more functional and sophisticated.
I really enjoyed working with Andrea Lauren and I will continue to use their services in the future.
