They had a special going on which they honored. The man who came out was incredibly pushy, really over the top, he wanted me to purchase something that was over $1,000.00. He treated me like I was a child, he was a young man and I did not feel respected. I ended up having to tell him that he had to leave. His interpersonal skills were poor. I felt, that I was going to be cheated. I had signed up to be one of their members, but I no longer want to be affiliated with this company. I caution you about their membership I thought that it would included bonuses or discounts. The monthly dues feel like a scam in retrospect.
Description of Work: I had them out for maintenance, the company I had purchased the unit from sold their business to this company.

They were horrible and they weren?t professional at all; I ended up having to get someone else to come out. I asked him to let me know what the cost would be before he did anything and he told me a part that I needed was almost $300. I had someone else come out and tell me that the part was $30. He was rude and when I told him to take the part out but he said he wouldn?t put the old one back in. I called the company to complain and she said she would have the manager speak with him. I would never use them or recommend them.

They were very nice and considerate. It was a pair of young men who installed it. They were clean, came in with booties, and were polite. They showed me how everything had to be put in, and also cleaned the ductwork.
Description of Work: I hired them to install a new heat pump including handler and condenser for my daughter. The condenser had to be placed on the roof so they had to get a crane to get it in the right place. The inspection didn't pass the first time, but i called them and they came out the next day to fix everything.

Air Rescue called with an offer to tune up my A/C. While at my home they told me the reason my electric bills were so high was that the duct system was the wrong size. Graham Heating and A/C had replaced the system in June 2005 for a cost of $4,000.00. The rep from Air Rescue sent a Honeywell systems expert out to check the air flow and he convinced my husband and I that our breathing problems would improve and our electric bills would be lower. They came the next day and then the trouble began and continues to this day. The system did not pass inspection on three occasions. My equipment was moved from the garage to the attic and now I cannot get up there to change the filter. Two of my bedrooms are very hot and they came back and moved the thermostat. The fire alarm system had to be moved because of the air flow. Two vents had to be moved because they were too near to the thermostat and alarm system. My air conditioner clicks on and off frequently. Every time they come to the house they tell me I have to buy something else. Each technician that comes out tells me that the one before him did a poor job. On many occasions I have attempted to get in touch with Harold Myers, the engineer, without success. To this day the air flow is not adequate in my office and spare bedroom. The latest technician has been out to change the filter. He has tried to resolve the flow problem but has not been able to do so. Why did I wait so long to sent this report to Angie's List? I have given them the benefit of the doubt for almost three years but I feel if others read this they may escape the aggravation and financial expense that I have gone through. Do they realize that by not keeping their promise they have in fact stolen my money?

(Note: I did not tell him that I am a Professional Engineer and am fimiliar with refrigeration) The technician first wanted to know if we wanted to know all the problems he would find. Well duh! After he was done he sat down and then it proceeded to become a sales pitch. He noted that the compressor had high starting currentand wanted to sell us a soft start system. (Note: If the starting current is too high it indicates a problem with the compressor motor) He said that the compressor is running hot which is due to a low reading of the capacitor. (Note: The capacitor is only related to the motor not to the compressor.) Again he said that the capacitor in the air handling unit was a low value. He also tryed to sell us a ultra-violet syste to kill the mold that comes into the system on the dust. The total price was well over $2,000.00 plus we should pay an anual fee. We said that we would think it over and then he sprayed "Ace Fresh Air" into the air handling system. This he said would kill the mold and bacteria for 8 hours. (Note: My wife is a registered nurse and she looked at the bottle and told me that this is just a deodorizer) We were not at all pleased with the service.
Description of Work: Check the heat pump system. The air handling was checked. The compressor was checked. The vents were inspected by feel.

Called company on 14 Mar 09. Was told that tech would come out between 9 and 1 on 15 Mar 09 at a cost of $49 after joining a "club" that provided better service than the typical customer. "Club" cost about $12 per month and would move you to the front of the line for service calls, plus 20% off any service work. Credit card was given over the phone to start the "club". Was told tech would call about 30 minutes prior to arrival. No tech showed or called on 15 Mar. Called company at 1:30 - was told that new girl made mistake - price was $189. Was not told why tech had not called. Made another appt for 16 Mar. Told the company flat out that they HAD to be there at 5:00 as we could not be there before. Came home at 4:30 and found a card on the door. Appt had been made to be there between 1:00 and 5:00. Company card states "if they are not there when they say, you don't pay." Called company for a manager to cancel credit card. Manager not there. Left my name and number for manager to call me before 9:00 on 17 Mar. Called company on 17 Mar at about 0830 - was told manager was in a meeting, but would call me as soon as she was out. Called company at 4:30 - was told manager was on the phone and getting ready to leave, but would call me before she left. Whoever took my call at this time was the FIRST employee to apologize for what was going on, even though she couldn't do anything about the problems. As of 6:00, 18 Mar, no phone call.

May 21, 2008 ?PM service performed. Paid for ?minor? repairs. Agreed to maintenance program membership to prevent mold growth in air handler. Rep assured us regular service would stop mold growth/ expansion. November 22, 2008 ? regular PM service performed. Rep stated we needed biocide system because regular service not stopping mold in air handler. Told us purchase/installation of biocide system would stop mold growth and expansion into air ducts. Cost: $1,187. January 17, 2009, called Air Rescue because no heat moving although unit appeared to function. Used 888-NeverWait no. Tele rep said someone would come that day. Service rep arrived a short time later. Again explained difficulty, and he asked if telephone agent had instructed us to turn system off. We said no. Rep turned system off and climbed into attic. Shortly he came back & said he had ?good news and bad news?. Good news was he had arrived before fire broke out. Bad news was extensive damage. Repair cost would be close to $3,000. Showed us costs for new system. Mother, 86 and on oxygen therapy 24/7, and I terribly frightened we had avoided life threatening situation upon timely arrival of rep. New system quoted us first at $12,000. When asked him if any room in that bid, he asked ?What would you like it to be?? Told him much less & he called supervisor, then quoted $9,000, saying lucky 'cause ?she was in good mood.? Mother agreed to install new system, assured would be installed that day. Installers arrived 2:00 pm. One of techs said ducts had considerable mold in them and we needed all new ductwork. Assured us Air Rescue would ?cut us a deal? on ducts since we were installing new system at same time. I was very upset because I had been told first by Air Rescue that regular maintenance with service plan would preclude mold?s expansion; second by biocide installer that that particular installation would preclude mold?s expansion; and NOW that both of these contracts had failed, and we must trust Air Rescue to install new ductwork to stop mold encroachment. He reminded me mother?s health was fragile ? her oxygen dependence. I said if the price were ?$0? I?d be hesitant based on previous promises made to us. Tech assured me he?d been in A/C business 30+ years, was honest person, ?looking out for our welfare?. Installation could not be completed that day; techs returned Sunday. Said I needed to ?pose? for picture by new outside unit with ?thumbs up? gesture ? something ?the company required?. I complied. When installation complete, techs said they would return next day to re-install attic trim. Would also remove concrete slab from old unit & complete area clean up. Have never returned. Now learn Air Rescue pulled no permit for work. Also, outside sources state charge of $9,000 is 3 times cost we should have paid. Have been contacted several times by co. asking us to sign papers, allowing them to meet necessary permit requirement.
Description of Work: As a "regular" customer, we called Air Rescue to report that the system was not sending heat into the home. They came out the same day and told us we needed a new system.

This is one of the worst companies to deal with in terms of quality of workmanship. I'm sure no one on Angie's List will bother with this company, but maybe your neighbors should know too. The company uses high pressure sales tactics, and I'm still shaking my head how ready they are to rip someone off. I know because they installed a new AC system at my house and from start to finish, and it has been a nightmare. The turnover at this company has been astounding. I'm amazed they're still in business.
Description of Work: This company installed a new heat pump and air handler. They perform maintenance to satisfy the warranty. I have been dealing with this company for several years now, and the problems have been too numerous to list. I am stuck with them because they installed the system and are covering parts and labor.

I had a second A/C company come out to get a second opinion and they said there was nothing wrong. I ended up looking on AL after I had them come out and their negative ratings did not surprise. I got their number off the electrical paneling which is why I called them. They were at the house for 3 hours. The tech came out with this report. This company was not honest with their evaluation. I called this company after they quoted me $20,000 for the work to be done to tell them that they were wrong, but no one ever responded. Air Rescue is also part of this company. He eventually called me back and left a message, but I ignored them.
Description of Work: They checked my A/C equipment. To my surprise they told me that my duct work was all undersized and I was loosing 60% of my air return. They said if I didn't replace the ducts I would have to replace them in a year.

I did not watch him do the service, I only hope that it went well. He stuck several sensors into our duct work to measure pressure and temp. I just checked to find that all of his holes were never covered and now I have several holes in my duct work that he made. I am now mad. What a rip off. Another company made me very happy last time and I should have used them again. Don't fall for their mailer. Now I must fix the problem he created or schedule him to come back. Ouch. I have advanced knowledge in many of the fields he used to scare us and I know that he was over reaching to make his point. I feel bad for the folks that tech-talk may confuse as this was one of his tactics used to scam.
Description of Work: I called for the A/C check-up they offer in the flyer. What I got was a high pressure tactic to replace my system. This system is old and dirty, but works fine. We are keeping it going until it hatches by performing a tune-up every few years to help. One scare tactic they use is to put a mask on just to talk to me in the garage with the system running. (The negative pressure of the running system means that nothing is coming out of it in the garage while we talked, and he should know that. He must think I am stupid to fall for this). His filthy mask with a broken strap on the bottom was folded in 4 and stuck in his pocket until my wife showed up. The one inch gap at his chin makes me laugh at this overused "prop". It was not helping him breath better, just scared my wife. He used the CANCER threat many times. I did not invite him in for a sales pitch but he sat down at the dinner table and spent another hour and a quarter interrupting our nightly news and dinner. We were asked to join "The Club" for $220 several times and he rammed a new system down our throats for the low, low cost of $12,800.

The salesman was high pressure and intimidating. I learned that I had a heart condition and wanted to cancel, but the salesman pressured us into letting them do the work with such comments as "you wouldn't want your wife breathing bad air, would you?" We allowed the project to continue, which took several weeks for them to complete. We had to vacate the house for 2 days, as part of the project and had to stay at a local hotel. The installers were very good and went "above and beyond" to please us with their service. Our main issue was with the high pressure tactics of their salesman. In addition, we later learned from another reputable company in the air conditioning business, that we should have spent about half of what they charged us. Price gouging and high pressure intimidation are not signs of a good company and we will never do business with them again. We had a contract for their monthly maintenance, but when we realized that they had not shown up in 6 months, we canceled the contract.
