The installation of the duct cover to seal the area between the AC package and the house was done neatly and professionally by Vince C. Although it took a week and several phone calls to get the job done so the install can be inspected, timing was not critical and I am satisfied with the job overall. The job number is: 394149 Invoice #: 530105

My 19 year-old heat/ac unit coil blew on a Friday evening. My wife asked a neighbor, who had some recent AC work done, for her recommendation. Air Rescue was the company and was called at 8 that evening. Sales tech arrived at 9:30 the next morning. He showed me the damaged coil with compressor oil leak and stated that he would try to get a replacement coil. A replacement coil was not available for this old of a unit so complete replacement was the only solution. He also stated that he could not legally attempt to recharge the freon since there was an obvious leak and that the electrical disconnect would have to be replaced since it was not to code. He then said that a unit could be completely installed within a few hours and provided me a quote. I had done some quick internet research and realized the quote was high but I needed to balance the convenience of getting the job done or going through the process of arranging for 3 or 4 more companies coming out to do their pitches. His appearance and professionalism led me to trust the job would get done correctly even though expensively. I gave the go ahead. By 4:30 that afternoon a permit was obtained and the new unit was up and running, the old unit removed, and the site cleaned up. The two men who did the install were very professional, stopped to answer any questions I had and did a neat job. Now that the job is done I have some understandable regrets that I might have overpaid significantly and could have had a unit installed within a week or so. But that is a typical reaction to a large purchase and will be forgotten soon enough. Generally, you get what you pay for and if the new unit lasts as long as the old one I'll have nothing to complain about. A duct cover that seals the area behind the new unit and the house needs to be fabricated and installed. I am assured that this will be done in the next few days and that a County inspector will inspect that the work has been done properly. Since the duct cover is a separate job, I will report again when completed. Job # 393678 Invoice# 523433 2/25/12
Description of Work: 19 year old 2-ton heating air conditioning unit removed and replaced with new 2.5 ton 13 SEER unit. New thermostat installed. New electrical breaker installed.

They called to arrange the service call and provided a two hour windiow within which the technician would arrive. They call the day before to confirm the appointment and then the technician calls when he is on his way. I have had 5 service calls from them since obtaining my service contract and the technician has always showed up on time and been professional. They spend time explaining your system and provide an evaluation of the "vulnerable" parts of the system. They will try to sell you something with each visit but that is to be expected. Make sure you purchase a replacement air filter (I buy mine on-line over the internet) before they arrive. Their mark-up on air filters is significant (I bought a 3 filter pack on-line for $75 and they quoted my wife $115 for 1 filter). Overall I am very pleased with their service and will continue to keep my service contract and utilize them for any service that may be required. I hope they send David Nordstrom back for my next service call. 3938632
Description of Work: I have a $11.95/month service contract that provides a free tune-up service call every 6 months. This was my free service call. They cleaned the air handler inside the garage and the outside unit. Included vacuuming out the condensate gravity drain. They check the air filter and let you know if it needs to be replaced. They monitor the air coming out of the individual vents inside the house to check temperature and air flow. You are given an overall assessment of the various components in your system. 393863

The service was great. A very professional technician arrived to my home well dressed. Incredible manners. Explained everything to me thoroughly and allowed me to watch the whole time and involved me in everything he did. I feel very comfortable with this company, and yes they are a little more expensive, but if you can afford quality I would definetly recommend them. I have already told all of my friends at the homeowner's association meeting and we are spreading the word!! I have signed up for the club membership and look forward to a long future with them.
Description of Work: My air conditioner was not working. Have heard a lot of horror stories about air conditioning companies so I was definetly skeptical. I checked around with some of my coworkers and was referred to this company. Phone experience was very pleasant. Then the service was even better. The technician was able to come out that day!!. When he arrived he explained the whole process, my unit was working within the hour. They didnt charge by the hour which a lot of companies do so I knew what it was going to be before he did the work. There were no surprises at the end just some recommendations that I intend to do in the future but he was not pushy about it just mentioned the items for my knowledge. He even gave me some energy saving tips. My unit is running better than it ever has.

It went as it has always gone since we started with this company - courteous & knowledgeable technicians - always willing to give helpful maint. tips. I have been with this company for 15+ yrs & will continue to do so unless circumstances change. This company installed our system & has provided any needed maintenance (we carry a maint. rider that provides for 2 annual inspections). The last service call ( for the dye install ) reference # is : 529385 on 2/21/12 Technician David Nordstron - who by the way is very knowing about a/c systems. I had a great conversation with him while he serviced the system. Air Rescue should have many like him.
Description of Work: This was a service call to add dye to the system to check for a possible leak. This system is 15+ years old. Was installed by & has been serviced by this company since its installation.

James Thornberry called my home and told me he would be arriving @ 1pm on 2/22/12. Mr. Thornsberry arrived a few minutes early, intorduced himself, put booties on his shoes before entering my home. Check my thermostate and proceeded outside to the garage unit and then to the outside unit. Invited me to watch him as he disessembled the a/c unit for inspection. Once the cover was off he invivited me again to check out the inside of my a/c unit. He explained what he was going to do, asked to borrow the hose, cleaned and inspected the unit and once again asked me to inspect it before he put the cover back on. Then he inspected the inside garage unit and proceeded to go into the attic where he took pictures and video of the air ducts etc. Once that was completed he asked if he could take some time to explain my situation based on his thorough inspection. After he explained EVERYTHING Mr. Thornberry made sure I had his business card (which he gave me when he first arrived) asked if I had any questions, asked if he answered all of my questions and thanked me for my time. The following day Jason called to inquire how my inspection went.

THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS BAD. I FELT THAT AIR RESCUE WAS OVERCHARGING IN PRICE AND THE PART WHICH WAS INSTALLED DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM...IN FACT, THE SMELL BECAME OVERWHELMING IN OUR ENTIRE HOUSE AFTER ONLY 1 DAY. I SHOULD HAVE DONE MY HOMEWORK ON THE PRICING AND CALLED OTHER COMPANIES FOR ESTIMATES BEFORE PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM AIR RESCUE. ONCE I CHECKED PRICES ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THE SAME UV STERILIZER SYSTEM ON AMAZON.COM FOR LIST PRICE OF $500 AND ON SALE FOR $393. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED AIR RESCUE AND TOLD THEM HOW DISGUSTED I WAS. THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE A MANAGER CALL US TO MAKE IT RIGHT AT 6 PM WHEN MY HUSBAND GOT HOME. NO ONE EVER CALLED! MY HUSBAND CALLED THEM AND TOLD THEM TO REMOVE THE PART AND REFUND OUR MONEY. THEY GAVE US THE RUN AROUND A COUPLE OF DAYS AND FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS, EMAILS, AND A LETTER WE SENT TO THE COMPANY VIA COURIER SERVICE, A TECH WAS SENT OUT TO THE HOUSE WITH A REFUND CHECK AND REMOVED THE PART. WE HAVE SINCE HAD MORE ESTIMATES FROM OTHER COMPANIES AND WE EVEN GOT PRICING FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE DUCT SYSTEM FOR JUST A LITTLE MORE THAN WHAT WE HAD PAID FOR THE AIR RESCUE PART. WHAT THIEVES THEY ARE..PLEASE WARN YOUR CUSTOMERS NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY WITHOUT GETTING ESTIMATES FROM OTHER A/C BUSINESSES! AIR RESCUE'S WHOLE FOCUS IS NOT ON SERVICE BUT ON THE GREEN DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE FIRST THING THE TECH ASKED WHEN HE ARRIVED WAS WHAT DOES YOUR HUSBAND DO FOR A LIVING AS HE WAS SCANNING ALL MY ROOMS WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LOOKING UP AT THE AIR VENTS. IT WAS SO APPARENT THAT THE TECH IS TRAINED TO SIZE UP YOUR FAMILY FINANCIAL SITUATION SO THEY KNOW HOW MUCH TO HIKE UP THEIR PRICES!!!! BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WILL NOT EVEN RATE THIS COMPANY...THEY HAVE A WARNING OUT THERE BECAUSE OF THE BIG VOLUME OF UNRESOLVED COMPLAINTS AGAINST AIR RESCUE!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE LEGAL RIGHTS AND CHOICES!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE 3 DAYS IF NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR PRODUCTS AND CAN GET A FULL REFUND.
Description of Work: VERY BAD ODOR COMING FROM OUR A/C DUCTS WHEN WE TURNED OUR AIR CONDITIONING ON. CALLED AIR RESCUE TO COME OUT TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. WE HAD TO USE AIR RESCUE BECAUSE THEY TOOK OVER OUR WARRANTY WHEN OUR PREVIOUS COMPANY AIRTRON WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. AIR RESCUE STATED WE HAD A MILDEW AND STATIC PRESSURE PROBLEM IN OUR DUCT SYSTEM. AIR RESCUE GAVE OPTIONS OF CLEANING THE DUCTS FOR $1400 (OVERPRICED!) OR REPLACING THE DUCTS FOR $5000 TO $20000 (WAY OVERPRICED!) OR BUYING AN UV STERILIZER SYSTEM FOR $2336 (OVERPRICED BY 3 TIMES WHAT IT COSTS ONLINE) WE CHOSE THE UV STERILIZER SYSTEM WHICH COST $2100 AFTER DISCOUNT. TOOK ONLY 20 MIN FOR TECH TO INSTALL.

First, I want to start by apologizing that you did not receive a call back as promised, It is our goal to provide 100% satisfaction, and I know that follow-up is where this starts. Regarding the online pricing that was discovered, if you choose to buy a part online you pay the cost of the part, and then add shipping, handling, and sales tax. You then wait 5-10 day for delivery, and then pay a service technician to come out and install it for you. If the part fails there is no warranty. You then pay someone to come out and remove it and pay the shipping to send it back to the internet provider and wait another 5-10 days to receive a replacement if they allow returns. Then pay someone to come back and re-install it. Our service prices are determined by a nationally recognized flat rate manual. It includes the cost of the part, deliver charge, warehouse and inventory cost, cost of fuel, insurance, vehicle maintenance, and repairs to deliver it to the customer. It then calculates the labor cost to have the technician install the part, which includes, SUTA, FUTA, FICA, health insurance, workman's comp, and unemployment insurance. The flat rate pricing also includes the cost of the warranty that the contractor provides. After all the overhead cost of purchasing, storing, delivering, installing, and warranting the part added, the contractor hopes to make a 10% net profit. Furthermore, Air Rescue sets its prices to be competitive with its biggest local and regional competitors in the same industry. We don't claim to be the cheapest air conditioning in town, but we are one of the oldest and largest companies in the Tampa Bay area and our prices are in-line with major competitors. Having said that, we do not attempt to be price competitive with smaller local companies that have much lower overhead. Air rescue offers an excellent guarantee, 24-hours service 365 days a year, our technicians are licensed, certified, insured and bonded. We background check and drug-screen all of our employees and they are uniformed and badged. These things help reassure our customers but they don't come cheap. Additionally, we pay our service technicians good, middle-class wages. We want to and have to in order to get the best technicians, which are in short supply these days as fewer people tend to work in the trades. Yes, we cost more than many local air conditioning companies but we think we offer value that other companies cannot. I do know that our technician did return to your home to remove the product, and a complete refund was issued. Please let me know if there is anything further that we can do for you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get this taken are of for you.

My overall experience was fantastic. They showed up on time and did what they said they would do and then some. They were fair in price and worked with me on the financing options. The install crew worked until close to 9pm to make sure my heat was running that night. They returned in the morning to complete the remainder of the job. They worked to make sure the system was installed to my liking, even if it required more work on their end. #390461
Description of Work: A new AC and heater was needed for my older home. My old system was close to 30 years old and a previous visit from Air Rescue did not result in a sales attempt. When my furnace stopped working, they were very quick to show up and attempt to fix it once again, rather than try and sell me a new system once again. Since my system did need replacing, they provided a competitive quote . Based on the experience and rapport with the tech, I decided to have my new system installed by Air Rescue. They were able to start the next day and worked very late to complete the job.

They sent someone out and did the repairs they said they would. They were true to their word and they did what they said they would.
Description of Work: My Air Conditioning unit was purchased in 2009 for $6000. On the 10th of November I had the temperature set at 70 degrees on my air conditioning. I noticed that the air temperature said 84 degrees. The air conditioning wasn't working. I called and they said they would send someone first thing in the morning. Since my last review they came back and did what they said they would. They fixed it the next day. My new unit is up and running with no problems at all.

Very good, my wife was not happy that our system wasn't working, Vince came out a little early and got our a/c fixed quickly and didnt try to sell us a new one. If she isnt happy, no one is, and now our system is working great. Wish it could have been fixed for less, but overall would reccomend Air Rescue to anyone.
Description of Work: My wife and I were pleasantly surprised, their service man Vince came out to our house because our air conditioner had stopped working and we were fearing the worst. (as you would expect with these types of situations). Vince fixed our system and replaced a bad part rather than telling us we needed a new air conditioner. Thanks. We will use them again!

It took 8 visits (no exaggeration) within one week to establish that the AC drain pipe (which had overflowed and damaged an adjoining floor and drywall) was clogged and could not be repaired and that a condensate pump (the first one malfunctioned!) had to be installed. The whole experience was such a disaster that I was not charged anything. However, I still need to get an independent assessment by another AC company to make sure things were done correctly.

This happened to my mother. This company called her offering this service - come out and clean, inspect and recharge freon for $59. The guy came out and it looked like he was working on it. When he was finished he informed my mother that she needed $798 worth of parts and labor or she needed to replace the unit. Thankfully my brother was there and told the guy they couldn't do it that day because of finances but they would call later, just to get him to leave. He got mad at them and left. The next day my brother had a friend of his that does AC work come out and look at the unit. They showed him the list of work the other guy said needed to be done. He didn't find anything wrong with anything listed and he said the guy had not even cleaned the unit, said it still had algee all up inside. I feel like this company is targeting elderly people and they should be stopped.

They didn't fix it and they tried to sell me an overpriced air conditioning system. Their technician was unscrupulous to say the least. He tried to tell me there was mold in my air conditioning system and he was supposed to fill my air conditioner with freon for a couple of days while they worked on a quote for a new air conditioner but they never filled it. I caught him in a lie and I would not trust them. They had the highest price and I ended up buying a new air conditioner unit from another company for half the price.
Description of Work: I used Air Rescue Air Conditioning because my air conditioner broke down and I had a maintenance agreement with them so I called them in for maintenance.

Everything went ok. They didn't send the same person as the first time. The second guy didn't know as much.
Description of Work: They came out to check our heating and A/C unit.
