"I just realized that my response to this review never posted. After reviewing the invoice, and checking the log, I have noticed that the customer is mistaken. This was an emergency call that we squeezed in late on a Friday. The customer complaint was that water was shooting up in the air and hitting his house. I told the customer that we would get there as soon as we could, and when he asked how much, I told him approximately $ 125 plus parts by what is sounded like over the phone. I wasn't sure at that point if it was a broken line, or broken head, or broken valve, but the prices are quoted the same way. The customer sounded anxious, so I got someone there as quick as I could. When the technician arrived, he found a solenoid valve that was chewed off by the customer's dog. He had the exact part on the truck to replace it with. I am pretty sure it took longer than 3 minutes to drive there, investigate the problem, shut down the water to the house, take off the old valve, find the new valve on his truck, install the new valve, turn the water back on, turn the sprinkler system back on, make sure it was functioning properly, write the invoice, and write down the customer's credit card information. The new part was $ 10.00. We charged the customer $ 135, not $ 165 like he wrote here in his comment. I have the invoice available, with the customer's signature on it, acknowledging he was satisfied with the work. He thanked the technician for getting there so quickly. We ran his credit card for $ 135, and then he called his bank and told them it was an unauthorized charge, so for 4 months, they gave him the money back, until his bank checked the invoice and realized it was authorized. We charged him exactly what we quoted. It seems to me that when he realized how easy the repair was, and how inexpensive the part was, he was annoyed he couldn't figure out himself. When the customer initiated the charge-back with his bank, I tried to call him many times. At first it just went to voice mail, and I left several messages. Then he finally picked up the phone and started cursing at me. I had Brian drive by the customer's house to make sure the valve was still ok, thinking maybe something happened to it, and that's why he got so angry, but the valve was still ok. The customer never did call me back, or email us, or send a letter, so to this day, I have no idea what the problem really was. His comment has the wrong amounts and times listed. Everyone we discussed this with, including his credit card company, have agreed that $ 135 for parts and labor, late on a Friday, for an emergency call that we squeezed into the schedule, that matched exactly what we quoted, was a fair price."
