Description of Work: Our refrigerator was making a clicking noise and internet research indicated it could be a fairly serious issue. I called Smith's Appliance Repair and Mr. Smith came out the next day to repair the refrigerator. He had the parts with him and was able to do everything in one trip. I will definitely use them for any future appliance repairs.

Description of Work: I was having an issue with our washing machine on a holiday weekend. To my surprise, they came on out that Saturday afternoon and had it back running again in no time.

Description of Work: Fixed stopped up drain in dishwasher. Note to self: Make darned sure no cherry pits go into the dishwasher. Something that small can clog it. Fortunately, it was covered by a service contract.

Description of Work: I had requested an evaluation on whether to fix my dishwasher or purchase a new one. I am extremely pleased with the honesty and professionalism of Mr. Smith. He told me that if it were him, he would not waste money fixing the old one. Also, he provided some guidelines for purchasing a new one since I decided that it how I would proceed. I will not use anyone else from this point forward.

Description of Work: Replaced dryer belt. All went well. Had same business replace fuse a couple of years ago in same dryer - fee was $90.00. The vendor provides excellent service, yet it would be helpful if the cost were lower - to better fit the minor (or at least minor in my mind) request.$50-60 would be more appropriate cost/fee.

Description of Work: Diagnosed the issue with my 13 year Maytag Neptune washer. Unfortunately, it was a computer issue that the part is not available anymore. Service guy was nice, professional and sympathetic.

Description of Work: Our electric oven wasn't heating: burners and broiler okay, just wouldn't bake or roast anything. We called them on a Weds. and made an appointment for between 2 and 3pm on Friday. They got there at around 4:30 or so, diagnosed the problem right away (broken/cracked oven coil - apparently a common problem with Frigidaires), and had fixed it and left by around 4:50. | |About the responsiveness issue: they list two numbers, a land line and cell. When we called the first time, the landline rang repeatedly and eventually offered to let us leave a voicemail message. Hung up and called the cell number; that put us in touch with their office and we made the appointment. | |Friday evening we had a fixed engagement which we had to get to on time. When no one had called or shown up by around 3:30, we called them to confirm someone would be there soon. No answer at either the landline or cell; left a voicemail message on the latter. Within minutes, got a callback from a DIFFERENT cell phone. It was the repairman, Mr. Smith, saying he was about 20 minutes away. | |The difficulty of reaching them was the only rub on the responsiveness scale. I came really close to giving them a C instead of a B, but it was possibly a problem for us only because of the engagement which we couldn't reschedule -- not 100% their "fault."

Description of Work: The start button on our Kitchenaid dishwasher stopped working, so we called Smith's. Mr. Smith had repaired our washing machine previously and we were pleased with the job. He came out to check the dishwasher and had to order the entire top control panel, because the sensor strip isn't sold separately. The part took a few days to come in, which we expected. Mr. Smith called when it did and scheduled a second visit, then quickly installed the replacement panel. The machine now works fine, and once again Smith's did a great job.

Description of Work: Our dryer was making a loud squeaking noise. They came out to inspect the problem, ordered the parts and had it fixed the next week.

Description of Work: I call Smith's Appliance Repair around mid-afternoon and got an answering machine. I left my name and number and a short message. It is now Monday late morning and I have now received a call back.

Description of Work: Repaired a leaky valve in a dishwasher.

Description of Work: Repair to refrigerator--wasn't cold. Also small repair to dishwasher rack.
