After the initial assessment, which uncovered many problems including the fact that several of our valves could not be found, we paid Massey $1,214 in advance to find and replace all needed valves and rotors, adjust all 45 rotor heads, repair broken water lines, install a new rain sensor, trace all wiring to the various valves and repair wires where needed. As many as three technicians started, working together to locate wiring and valves and after two days had completed most of the work. The remaining valves proved difficult to find and would have remained hidden if not for the diligent work of one technician who kept coming back for about five more days over a two week span. Thanks to this technician, Danzell Williams, our system now works perfectly for the first time since we've been in this house.

When I first contracted them, I was told that they could take care of the moles as well as the lawn.  Well, the moles have gotten out of control.  The lawn looks like a battlefield.
I can't trust their word.  They said if I was not pleased, they would refund charges.  Well, they didn't.
I would not recommend anyone hire them.

In terms of fertilizing the lawn they are fine however when it came to controlling weeds their service was flat out bad.  It seems about all they did was to apply micro nutrients, fertilizers, etc for the six months or so that I employed their service.  At the time of hiring them I stated clearly that I wanted them to help control weeds in the flower beds as well as in the lawn as I had just replaced almost the entire yard with new Zoysia grass.  Their price was about $20 more a month that their competitors however it seemed like they would be doing more as they would come out once a month as opposed to every two months like the other companies that quoted.

In the contract they charged extra for 2 times per year for applying pre emergent in the flower beds to control weeds and the sales person assured me this would do the majority of the work in terms of controlling weeds.  Upon their first visit when I asked the operations people about weeds in the flower beds they said they didn't have this service and would need to ask the office staff.  This was at the end of the growing season around Oct. 2014 when weeds were not a problem and they said at the time that they would apply a pre emergent later as the plants in the beds were only a couple of months old and they didn't want to damage them. I asked them about spraying for weeds in the flower beds multiple times and their reply was lets wait until the plants are older or until the spring.

Fast forward mid March 2015 and there were weeds everywhere in the beds as well as the lawn. I literally spent hours hand pulling weeds thinking this was the only thing that can be done as the lawn and plants were too new. When I called to complain asking why weeds were all over the lawn they sent someone out within a week or so to kill the broadleaf weeds.  After two plus weeks from spraying maybe 30 percent of the weeds in the lawn had died and the others were taking over.  In the flower beds there was more weeds than plants in places. Finally I had enough of no results and quit the service. During one of their visits they even pulled their hoses over 3 plants and killed them which they promised to replace and never did.

At the end I changed to another company.  The other company (Paul's Pest Control) came out and in one visit got all of the weeds under control in the yard and in the flower beds.   Paul's charged me a one off fee of $225.00 to spend half a day spraying for weeds as they were everywhere.  They mentioned that if I had went with them 6 months prior I could have avoided this fee as they would have never let it get this bad.

Massey was courteous in terms of the staff that came out to my house however their results left much to be desired.

Well the salesman was terribly wrong about how the company actually handles pest problems. After having one spraying (we were told it was mandatory to not be on the property while spraying - so we left) there were no changes in the problem. The next visit was a no-show. Then two weeks later, after numerous phone calls we (my family) and I made arrangements for a very early Saturday morning spraying as we had a sports event the kids were involved in later that morning. The pest control person called - AN HOUR LATE - and VERY inebriated, stating he was having a "slow start" did we still want him to come? Well, of course not, we then had fifteen minutes to make it to the game. The next week, no one was available to come out, the following week a manager came out, PROMISED that he would handle our account from then on, and would make sure that the spraying went as contracted. We made arrangements for him to come out the following weekend. He sent someone else instead who only sprayed around the kitchen cabinets and had us leave for 2 hours. The following week, again nobody showed. We started this process in September, giving their contractual amount UP FRONT. In December, after finally calling the Orlando Office and complaining of the poor service the manager and the overall supervisor - David showed up and both of them sprayed. It was at this time that David informed us that we should never have been told to leave the property before spraying. They did a thorough job (for the first time) of spraying and promised to return the following Saturday after Christmas to keep to the original contract by spraying consecutively. Neither of them showed up or bothered to call to say they would not be coming. After several calls, we finally heard from them on January 31st. We were also told to have them come out again we had to pay an $80 QUARTERLY FEE in January! We STILL of course had a pest problem, so we paid. When David came out, he apologized for all of the problems and said there would be no other billing and all of the other visits had been covered. OF COURSE THEY WERE, they had YET to actually fulfill the contract! Of the promised five consecutive treatments, plus the additional quarterly treatments -  they only showed up on 9/282013, 10/8/2013, 12/21/2013 and 1/31/2014.

Then in March I receive a bill for another $80.00. When I tried to contact them about it the office girl insists that it is a quarterly bill from OCTOBER!!! What?! She said I had to speak to David to have the problem resolved. I called again and got the manager who said David would be in on the following Monday. No call returned. I asked my daughter to try to reach him during the day while I was at work. She attempted on five separate occasions to get David to return her call. No return call. We left messages with the office staff every time we called.

Then in April, I receive another bill for $80.00. I called the Orlando office this time and complained about the above problems and David's refusal to call us back. They said they would leave a message for him to call me back on Monday, 4/28. On Wednesday, 4/30 I finally received a very disgruntled call-back from David. I was at work and could not talk, so I told him we would call him right back. My daughter (adult) then called him to express how difficult it was to deal with their service and the problematic billing for services not rendered.

The conversation went like this (and I quote my daughter):

" I told him I was not going to pay anymore money to the company because the billing is incorrect. He told me he would "find someone to pay the balance on the account and we will go our separate ways". I feel that he never wanted our business in the first place and was looking for a way out. So, he didn't fix the billing issues and didn't apologizing for the poor service from his staff. At this point, it is my understanding that I no longer have an account with Massey's services. I owe them no money and they owe me no service."

He also did not refund any of the upfront money that was given by contracting for 5 consecutive treatments.

I would advise EVERYONE to RUN away from this poorly run company. Everything from the contract to the billing is messed up and they do not appear willing to fix any of their poor services. Their reputation stands at unreliable at best.

Not long after buying the house I realized that during extremely heavy rain (2-3 inches per hour type of rain) water would accumulate next to one corner of the house sufficient to rise above the top of the concrete slab.  During the autumn of 2012, I set out to reconfigure drainage around portions of the house and in the process I discovered that, in places, the soil adjacent to the slab was higher than the slab and extended an inch or so up on to the brick veneer.  Such a condition is an invitation to termite entry through any gap between the slab and the lowest brick.  A main function of an elevated slab is to provide a vertical separation between the soil and the wood of the ballon-framing of the walls.  Such a separation allows one to see any termite tube on the side of the slab, that is, to know that one does or does not have a termite problem.
That Massey would have inspected my house several times and also treated the perimeter soil without having suggested that soil be re-graded next to portions of the slab is, in my opinion, incompetence.  I canceled my contract with them.  Why pay $175 for an inspection in which the inspector is just going through the motions and cannot even see all the vertical face of the slab to check whether termite tubes are present.
I probably would not have written a review except for the fact that after I cancelled the contract Massey managers called me twice, once under false pretenses, to badger me into renewing.  In these calls, they asked me to renew, but they never offered to send someone competent out to suggest how and where to reconfigure the soil near the house.  They were interested in my money, but not in my problem.

I need to have a phone call the day before they come for service due to pets in the yard. I had called several times reminding them as they showed up unannounced. Two times I had a scheduled appointment time and the service person never showed. Several other times the service person went into the yard with my pets leaving the poison accessible to them on the lawn, and on one visit the gate was not fully latched after they left.  I have called the office on several occasions trying to rectify this problem. I think I only had one month where they called prior to arriving. I have only used this service about 8 months so they were never able to manage the "call ahead" plan. The weed control was only marginal, but the bug control seemed to be fine.

It has always been satisfactory. I haven't had any problems or issues with them. Whenever I have a problem, I would call them and they will come immediately and deal with it. They are always there quite promptly and it is never more than a day or two. They had given me good advices on how to prevent termites getting in my house. I never had a termite problem because of them. If I see a bug, they will surely look out for me.

.They would get A's all the way. They do mainly our exterior for roaches and termites. we have had some interior but mostly exterior is what they do. My one complaint  is that when the termite  man came out I asked him to  have the office call  me and they told him to tell me that I had to call him to them which I was outside and thought that was a bit rude as they were right on the line with the guy. But the work they do is really good.
