We will call back when ready for project
"Hi Mr. [removed member name], I apologize for your frustration. Unfortunately, you are located outside of the area in which we work."
The written proposal I received a few days later was for ONLY the sidewalk PLUS a long retaining wall. There was no drawing of the work. There was no mention of the width of the new sidewalk - instead the work was stated in terms of square feet. I would have had to go out and measure myself and do a bit of math to find out if I were actually going to get a sidewalk of 48 inch width. There was no mention of the two mini-patios. No mention of the survey. Proposal also stated that it explicitly excluded the permit for the work.
I have three criticisms: (1) the proposal was unresponsive to what I asked for; and (2) the proposal was so vague I could not tell what I was going to get; and (3) the proposal included a long retaining wall I didn't ask for and don't need.
"Thank you for expressing your concerns. I would just like to add a couple of comments. We certainly do provide a very detailed scope of work in our proposals; however, we do not provide a detailed drawing with every proposal that we send out. Also, it is in our professional opinion that a retaining wall is required to properly stabilize and establish the proper grade for this new walkway. As you can see from all of our reviews, our clients that we have completed work for are extremely happy with our services. I am sorry that we were not able to come to terms. I wish you the best of luck with your project. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions. Ryan Figman President"
Brian at Apex was great.
He came out and measured the project, compiled our wish list and
gave us the estimate. The materials were ordered and arrived early not late. The workers were prompt, efficient and very skilled. Demo was started on January 5, 2015 and finishing touches were completed on January 21, 2015.
There were NO ISSUES at all. Brian had the job running like a well tuned machine
We are very happy with our new Patio and the pool looks brand new.
