It nearly was the biggest disaster I had ever seen ,only for James Hopkins I think we would be in court. This man fixed all the problems that occurred with great understanding and patience. I would definitely go back to Bobs carpet again BUT only if James Hopkins was in charge of the contract Thee were far too many mistakes in the whole procedure to mention,enough to say that everything that could go wrong did. Thanks to James all ended well.

Buy Armstrong flooring, Tell Bill to get a real Sales person who will be professional and like your business.
Description of Work: Armstrong laminate is awesome. The owner of the store has tried to rectify an lazy sales person. If you walk in and meet "Bill" ask for someone else. His lack of intra-communication (within the store work force) and the installers is abhorrent. I already knew what I wanted he came and measured the floor and gave me me a written quote I would expect from a middle schooler. The lack of detailed math and description of services was poor at best. He said he was going back to the store to write up the "official quote". Well I never saw such "official quote". 14 days prior to installation I realized I was not going to be able to remove my tile myself, called the store and told "Bill" such. I wanted to give them time to schedule the additional work and allow for adjustment in price. The installers showed up and knew nothing of the change. Luckily "tile removers" had a job cancel and we remained on track. The installers left without instructions on whether we could walk on the floors and when we should remove the tape from the thresholds. They also failed to install 1/4 round in the kitchen. I called and talked to "Bill". Long story short AVOID sales person named Bill.

The installers were great! They arrived on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. However, the communication within the store is lacking. I ordered the floor on 7/18/2011. I was told that when the floor came in, they would call and arrange for installation. After a few weeks, I still had not heard from them. When I called to inquire, they said that part of the order did not come in. I followed up this phone call every couple of day to see if it had arrived yet. After a couple of weeks of phone calls, it was discovered that the wall baseboard had been delivered to another store. This caused further delay in the installation. The baseboard would have to be sent from that store to the 22nd ave store. I had asked that the baseboards be dropped off at my house when they came in, so I could paint them before the installation. I was told that would not be a problem. The baseboards were brought on the day of installation. I painted them that night and they were installed the next day. There were a couple of them that had deep scratches. I called to see if they would be replaced, and was told that the sections that had scratched would be cut out and not used. The scratched pieces were used in the closets. I had been told by the salesman that the floor would be completed during my vacation. That did not occur.

The carpet installers (Alex and Elliott) arrived promptly at 9.00 am on the agreed date. They coped very well with the strict regulations in the condominium about where to park their truck, which entrance and exit to use and wher to cut the carpet. The moved furniture with the minimum of fuss. they removed the old carpet and disposed of it efficiently and cleaned the underlying concrete surface. They laid the carpet extremely well, stretching it perfectly to the edges, cutting carefully around edges, taking off closet doors to enable proper laying of the carpet. Nothing was too much trouble. They gave us two useful off-cut remnants which we will be able to use as smaller rugs. They cleared up at the end of the job in an exemplary fashion. During the day, they caused minimim inconvenience to us - and were polite and respectful throughout. They finished the job by 4.30 pm. We were delighted with the end-result.

We waited until the major seasonal sale (end of March/beginning of April) to make this $1300 investment in new stain resistant carpet for our family room. My husband hates Berber and I love Berber so, this carpet is good for both of us. A checkerboard pattern with half of the squares being Berber and half of the squares being a non-Berber albeit tight weave. The color is good too, and not too light, so, it does not show stains as easily. Due to my husband's desire to be comfortable on the floor, the salesman Paul Smith recommended that we get the thickest pad we could buy. Because, of the small checks (about 1" x 1" each), it is absolutely necessary that the carpet line up straight against the wall. The carpet installers came on time and lined up the carpet straight against the wall. The carpet is tucked tight against the wall. There is one spot where it feels as if something is under the carpet. The carpet does not line up straight where the carpet goes underneath the door jam for the outside entrance and exit but, I think that no matter who we would have paid to have our carpet installed, we would not have had a better installation. And because of the shorter measurement of the room, we made sure we purchased the carpet that comes on the rolls of the longer width (carpets actually come from the factory in two separate widths) so, that we would not have to deal with a carpet being seamed together.
Description of Work: Family Room (15 x 22) old carpet and pad was stripped, new Berber Plus Pad was installed, and new Logo Vista Mountain Air Style # 19235 Mountain Air (mocha) color # 0700 Carpet was installed.

WE HAD TO GO AHEAD WITH THE INSTALLATION BECAUSE FURNITURE WAS DUE TO ARRIVE. WHEN I TALKED TO LISA ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE IN WIDTH OF THE CARPET (12 FEET INSTEAD OF THE 15 FEET WE WERE TOLD WE WERE GETTING), SHE SAID ''OH, THEY DIDN'T TELL YOU?'' SHE WAS OUR SALESPERSON. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD US. THE AREA OF CARPET THAT WAS PIECED IS AN AREA OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. OUR INSTALLER WAS NICE AND DID A GOOD JOB. IT WASN'T HIS FAULT. WE WILL NOT GIVE BOB'S CARPET MART ANY MORE BUSINESS. WE DO NOT REPEAT BUSINESS WITH COMPANIES THAT ARE NOT HONEST WITH US. WHAT THEY DID WAS DECEITFUL.
Description of Work: WE ORDERED BERBER CARPET ON JANUARY 29TH AND WERE GIVEN AN INSTALLATION DATE OF FEBRUARY 12TH. WE WERE VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT THE CARPET BEING 15 FEET WIDE BECAUSE WE DID NOT WANT IT PIECED TOGETHER. THEY DID NOT TELL US THEY WERE SELLING SOMETHING THEY DID NOT HAVE IN STOCK AT THEIR STORE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE COMPANY CALLED AND SAID THE CARPET MANUFACTURE DATE WAS 2/12/05 AND IT WOULDN'T BE INSTALLED ON TIME. WE WERE VERY UPSET BECAUSE WE ARE MOVING INTO A NEW HOUSE AND THINGS ARE SCHEDULED SO THAT IF ONE COMPANY DOESN'T LIVE UP TO THEIR WORD, IT HAS A DOMINO EFFECT. IF THE CARPET WASN'T INSTALLED ON TIME, THE FURNITURE COULDN'T BE MOVED ON TIME. THE COMPANY CALLED BACK LATER AND SAID THEY HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR IN THE STORE AND WOULD WE COME AND LOOK AT IT. WE DID AND IT LOOKED THE SAME SO WE GAVE THEM THE OK. WHEN THE INSTALLER ARRIVED, THE CARPET THEY GAVE HIM WAS 12 FEET WIDE. HE ENDED UP HAVING TO PIECE THREE SECTIONS OF CARPET TOGETHER IN THE LIVING ROOM.
