I can't say enough about the beautiful job Johnny Oldja and his team did on my kitchen & bath countertops, sinks and plumbing. Being in an older mobile home, my areas were quite a challenge and the time, effort, care and workmanship they put into my home are nothing short of phenomenal! I highly recommend Oldja Enterprises!

Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath did a great job with our kitchen renovation in 2019. We did a full renovation, including full demo, wall removal, cabinets, countertops, and backsplash. Johnny and his team were always readily available for any questions and stuck to the timeline initally provided. I highly recommend Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath.

I was referred to Oldja by a friend of mine. I wish I had checked these reviews first. The process of dealing with these people was negative from beginning to end. I was told to contact Johnny, who is the owner. Johnny did not have time for me, so I was passed to Tonya, who could not be more rude, condescending, and abrasive. I chose granite out of their "remnants" section in the back. I thought I could save a little money since I didn't need huge pieces. Tonya told me that the remnants I chose were $40 per foot. I thought this was extremely high (I was finding regular slabs at that price), but I just wanted to be done with shopping so I agreed. Then I looked more carefully at my paperwork after the template guy came to measure, and I noticed that Tonya had charged me $50 per foot for the granite. $50 per foot for remnants after I was told $40. She insists that she told me $50 per foot, but it's not true. I would have never agreed to remnants for that price. I already told her that I thought $40 was a lot. I went into the store the first day, and I of course noticed how abrasive and rude Tonya was. Then, the second day I went in with my wife to sign the paperwork. My wife was shocked at how rude Tonya was. This is a person representing a company, dealing with customers. My wife asked me "Why are you buying from them?" I told her that I just wanted to be done. I'm busy. Keep in mind that my wife likes just about everyone. And the owner, Johnny, is not better. He was right there in his office listening to Tonya the entire time. He absolutely condones her treatment of customers. She has absolute contempt for customers. She really seems to hate her job. I would have sent this company a lot of referrals, but now I would never do business with them. The only positive thing I can think of to say about this company is that they did refund my money. They first said that I had to pay for the guy to measure, but then they eventually refunded the entire amount. Very disgusted with the whole thing. They wasted my time. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for granite or anything else. This is not the company.
Response from Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath
"We never performed any work for this individual, and I actually refunded his money as I did not want his job or to work with him after meeting him several times. Services were not ever performed for this person. This individual called my showroom stating he wanted a quote for a tiny outdoor kitchen countertop and wanted to come in that day. I told him the best way to get an actual price today was to visit the showroom with his measurements and select a color. I informed him I had previously scheduled appointments, but my office manager would be able to assist him. He was irritated that I could not personally meet him and didn't seem to understand the fact that I had appointments already scheduled. It was also pouring rain when he arrived and all of our remnants are outside. He also was irritated that no one wanted to show him remnants in the middle of a thunderstorm. This entitled attitude was the first clue that he was going to be a problem customer. This individual did visit the showroom and selected a color called Copacabana. This is a level four color that normally retails for $75.00 per sf. We gave him a price of $50.00 per sf, which is a $25.00 per sf discount since it was a remnant piece of granite. He told my office manager to talk to me and see if I could lower the price. I said no as that was already a good enough price and he could take it or leave it. He decided to go with it and he signed the contract and paid the deposit. I have no clue where this individual is coming up with a price of $40.00 per sf. The only granite that costs $40.00 per sf is an entry level color, which would be a level one granite. We informed him of this, but this guy clearly only hears what he wants to hear. He continually argued with us the throughout the entire process and when he called with even more complaints after the template I told my office manager to refund his money so we could get rid of him. Within an hour this guy goes and writes negative reviews were all over the internet. Good thing we got rid of him."

Buyer beware! Dishonest and unprofessional. Paid for waterfall edge on 2 countertops, cut wrong the first time, didn't match the 2nd and the 3rd install they spliced a piece on the bottom of their original mistake. John "owner" was belligerent and yelling on the phone. Could careless about the workmanship after they cashed our check.
Response from Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath
"Dishonest and unprofessional hardly describes our company. In this particular case, we cut one waterfall edge incorrectly, so we promptly corrected our mistake. We immediately re-cut another piece, which looked perfectly acceptable. The customer and her husband rejected this first piece because they did not like the pattern. The pattern on the first replacement looked perfectly acceptable as I saw it myself before it left the fabrication shop. Since the first replacement piece was rejected, we again tried to satisfy the customer and cut another replacement piece. Prior to installing the piece, my installation crew showed it to the homeowner for approval. The piece was accepted after inspection by the homeowner, so it was installed that day. Nothing was installed without the homeowner first inspecting and accepting it first. The final payment was given to the installation crew after they installed the 2nd replacement piece as the customers were satisfied and the job was completed. This customer even called our showroom that same day to tell us how great the piece looked and how happy they were with our work. Approximately two weeks later, we received a call stating that they no longer liked the piece because somebody had come to the house and found a seam at the bottom of the waterfall. I reminded this customer that we brought the piece out to them to inspect prior to installation. There was a seam added about 1" from the floor because it was necessary to make the pattern the way the customer requested it. The seam was so good the customer could not even see it even when they were looking directly at it. Just the fact that someone else noticed it weeks later upset them and caused them to no longer like the piece. Even with the seam, the 2nd replacement piece looked great and if it didn't, it never would have been accepted in the first place. Now this woman has gone on a social media crusade to try to slander my business on every forum she can find after accepting our granite. Johnny O"

Johnny's company did a great job on my kitchen. They removed walls, heightened the ceiling, installed new cabinets, quartz tops and all new appliances and also did all the electrical work . Johnny's crew arrived when they said they would were neat and completed the job in less time than it took to have my bathroom remodeled ( by another contractor). I would highly recommend oldja to anyone considering a kitchen remodel they are without a doubt the best contractor I have ever hired in Florida!! And I have hired many different contractors. You will not be disappointed!! His crew does it all no sub contractors.

Approximately 8 years ago we used Oldja to replace our counters with granite. The day they arrived with the new counters, I stayed in back of the house in my studio. I kept hearing what sounded like the cutting of the stone, but because I never experienced this before, and wasn’t told what to expect, I ignored it. After awhile I finally walked towards the kitchen and saw a plume of dust in the air. I saw two workers holding up the end of the large bar piece, while the other working was cutting it to fit. Apparently most of what they brought was not cut right. Instead of cutting it outside, they cut all of it in our home. I only wish I knew better at the time to stop it right away. Our house and all rooms were covered in granite dust. They also forgot a small section of the counter and had to come back a few days later. We spent all night cleaning the entire house. Unfortunately I did not review them at the time. It is unfair to review them all these years later but because we now have a brand new experience with this company, I thought it would be a good time to mention this. We have a new condo that underwent major renovations. We used a contractor and to our dismay he uses Oldja. We didn’t know this until Johnny Oldja came to meet with us regarding the new cabinets and counters. We didn’t know who he was until he handed us his card before he left. I then told him of our experience 8 years ago and he assured us that wouldn’t happen again. The only piece that has to be cut in the home is the hole for the faucet. The cabinets took an additional 4 weeks then what we were told, but that was ok since the other work, to get ready for the cabinets, was running behind. The day the cabinets came was the same day the worker came to make a template for our quartz counters. We made sure he knew that the size of the one large section of the bar was to be 19 inches, not 17 which was the previous counter. We also told Johnny this when we first met with him. I will say they were fast in getting the counters in. However, the counter was cut at 16 1/4! Even smaller than the original counter. To make matters worse, at the end of the bar it was cut short. They also had to piece meal a small section ( 18 inches of counter between the fridg and range) together because it came a couple of inches short. So we now had a seam on an small 18” counter where there shouldn’t be one. On the 16 1/4 counter there was a seam as well because that was cut wrong. So the 16 1/4 bar counter was cut wrong in length, width and debt and apparently piece mealed together because of the seam. It was as if two of the three stooges measured, came, and put in the counters. We couldn’t believe they left it that way when done, and thinking it would be ok. Just look at that picture! When they showed up with the new replacement 19” bar counter, it was 18 1/4” not 19”. Unbelievable! At that point we just wanted to be done with it all, so we settled for a smaller counter. When I sent Johnny an email expressing how unhappy we were he said, quote “I’m sorry you are unhappy, I actually agreed to replace your countertop free of charge to make things right”. Really, so we should be grateful? As the owner he should have been a bit more diplomatic and professional and simply apologized for the work that was shabbily done. He also wanted to remind me that he didn’t charge us to install the hardware on the cabinets even though that was part of the contractors price. We did not have the hardware the day the cabinets came, but had it available the day the counters came, and they installed it at that time. Apparently Johnny wants to charge you if his counter people do something that his cabinet people should have done, even though they are all Oldja employees, not private contractors. I would imagine if this type of thing happens often, they wouldn’t still be in business. Maybe we are just unlucky? I would still not recommend this company for ANY service.
Response from Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath
"The first job we did for this customer approximately 8 years ago was a granite countertop installation. I do not remember the exact details, but it sounds as though a field modification had to be made for one reason or another. This is an acceptable method for making a better fitting product in all trades of construction. It is commonly done in cabinetry, carpentry, plumbing, countertops and all other trades of construction work. When cutting is performed onsite we always have an installer standing there holding a strong shop vacuum with an attached filter. It is possible a small amount of dust will escape, but we always are aware of containing it to the best of our abilities. This recent project turned out looking great when we were finished with the job. My saw operator did make a mistake on a bar area and cut the top too short. It does not happen often, but when it does we correct the situation. I took full responsibility for the mistake and told her we were going to replace it, which is exactly what I did. I put the new top into production immediately and we returned two days later with the new top. The cabinets were not at all late. They were installed at exactly the time I told the contractor they would be installed. The hardware was not onsite the day we planned on installing it. Our Terms and Conditions are clear in stating that all customer provided materials must be onsite and in installable condition at the time they are needed. If they are not, we charge a remobilization fee, since we then have to return for an extra day of work that was not budgeted/paid for. The picture posted in this review is of the miscut countertop before we replaced it. In the spirit of fair reporting, how about posting a picture of the final kitchen? A one star review for this project is totally uncalled for and extreme to say the least. Thank you for your business. Johnny Oldja"

This was our first experience working with a contractor. From start to finish it was a stress free enjoyable experience. Johnny and his team worked with us every step of the way, from design to installation. His prices were reasonable and his service was excellent. He started the job when he said he would and finished on time! His workers were professional, friendly, and at the end of each day their workspace was spotless! Any issues we had, which were minimal, were dealt with immediately and to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend Oldja for any job!

Critical: Professionalism, Value The kitchen they redid looked great in the end. The kitchen we talked about having, budgeted and planned for while talking to the designer isn't what we got. The guy who did the work is a one man construction team. He does great work and knowledgeable in many different aspects of construction. We talked about having a cabinet door by the island Oldja designed, a garbage pull out bin, a $4500 oven i bought previously put in (showed the designer the box during planning stage). We bought handles and knobs we went in for to look through. Spent hours going in to prep everything. Got a loan. Got the contract and paperwork to view. We read over all the paperwork. We didn't look over the blueprints as this used a bunch of in house codes which made it useless to know what a model ###-### is for pieces. Can't change design in contract. Picked out their faucet, told them which lights we wanted, they saw the work area, measured it, knew the work involved, set the price. We didn't need to get a separate designer to look at their blueprints since after countless conversation, everything should be set right? Contract stated all we have to provide is backsplash, mortar and grout for our dream kitchen. Construction day arrives. This one man army of knowledge that's able to undoubtedly build a house comes in, takes one look at the convection oven and sees its not correctly planned in. Can't put it in. The measurements were wrong so we have to keep our old stove. That's $4500 lost. Need to scavenge to buy a new microwave with vent that fits the space this convection oven and microwave should have been. Settle for the only one thats in stock after 4 wasted hours, 2 trips and $350 later. We need to provide the lights which we weren't informed about, another $100 plus 2 hours wasted going to home depot, waiting in line during a covid pandemic or having to receive a penalty of over $500 to delay work by contract for a situation the company created. The garbage pull out bin? Whats that? Oh, we can add that for an extra $125. As you clearly see in this contract, there is no bin. Neither is the correct measurement of the convection oven which was a central point in redoing the kitchen. Door by the island we discussed? Not possible. The island is already in. We wouldve needed to design this cabinet before installation, sorry. All that preplanning? Should have reviewed my work at planning stage before signing the contract since it wasnt done right. Countertop guys come. Offer to measure and install the quartz top and change out window marble for a cleaner look. We get excited, a redeeming moment in design. He measures, we get a call, wife is on speaker as we confirm with the designer. The install team comes, Im at work, the tops are done, window sill is done... no backsplash. Maybe they're coming back? Call the designer... "We didnt do it because you said "No"... What? ... I get the full original backsplash, no big problem, very disappointed in Oldja and the designer. The one man army does beautiful work on my kitchen backsplash. At ease about the backsplash. Not in contract for the contractor to do drywall but he patches up spots old lights were in, which was seen during planning stage, charged at an extra $200 for. Good work on it, makes the kitchen look smoother. In the end the kitchen, while being improved upon, is not the dream kitchen without the $4500 item we planned on having installed, a huge section of island cabinets is useless without an access door, $650+ passed contract budget... oh and the knobs and handles we chose? All knobs. The product code ordered? Capital and lowercase letters on blueprint. Same product. All... knobs... There was no painting in the contract, but theres like 4 inches of space that desperately needed it which was an eye sore. After all the other mistakes this company made, one swipe wouldve taken my eyes of the one constant reminder that we should have gone elsewhere. But, maybe theyll work out with you...?

Major drain pipe burst just after completion of the Oldja remodel and it flooded the house. Wood floors had to be ripped up and cabinets replaced. Insurance company disaster recovery team enlisted Oldja to provide cabinet and granite services since they had JUST done the whole kitchen. Old man Oldja had an attitude throughout the entire process and we ended up with cabinets that have crooked doors and granite that has a crack in it. He was extremely uncooperative. Disaster recovery team was even surprised at the lack of professionalism.

"Im sorry you feel this way about my company, but this report is just not accurate. I just pulled your job file and saw you were a customer of ours originally in 2014 and then again in 2016. Your first contract was signed 10/29/2014 and your second contract (after your flood) was signed 6/6/2016. This leaves two years of time in between our project and your incident. Two years of time can hardly be considered "JUST" finishing your kitchen. If your flood had anything to do with our work, it surely would have happened sooner than two years. This is clearly a case of a faulty pipe rather than a result of our remodel. If we were as bad as you state, why hire us again? When I am unsatisfied with a company, the last thing I would do is to give them additional business. Since you have decided to write this review 3 years after the work took place, I am not sure if there is anything I can do to change your mind, but if so please let me know. I do not like to have any unsatisfied customers so if I can help you at all please let me know. Thanks for your feed back. Johnny Oldja"

The design and completion was truly amazing!!! We met Johnny Oldja by appointment at his beautiful showroom. We were impressed with all of the Angie's List commendation signs, for years of excellence, throughout the facility. Johnny and his staff were very helpful throughout our decision making. Originally we were informed the demolition and remodel would take fifteen days, however, they finished in only ten days!!! There were two or three workers here everyday. They were always on time, dressed neatly, and extremely polite! My husband and I would highly, highly recommend Oldja Enterprises!!! Our experience working with them was truly "top shelf" along with a very reasonable price!!!

We also fabricated and installed a beautiful granite countertop and connected the sink and all appliances. This resulted in a beautiful new kitchen for another satisfied client. It was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a company. Would not listen to anything being pointed out. Cabinets not straight, electrical not up to code and cabinets not put together right. Owner very rude. Now having to have kitchen replaced.

"Im sorry you feel that way about my company. Fortunately, reports like this are extremely rare as we do everything within reason to keep our customers happy. Unfortunately, everything within reason was not going to make this couple happy. After many negotiations without any progress we both finally agreed to allow an "expert" to assess the situation. Although the expert should have been neutral, I was even accommodating to the point of allowing this couple to choose the expert. Since the job was substantially complete (meaning the punch list had not yet been completed), I even agreed to allow their expert to create his own punch list that I agreed to complete. Once the list was completed, I was to be paid the remaining balance due on the contract. Apparently, this couple was not happy with the list their expert made either because they then broke this deal. This couple refused to listen to us as professionals or their own expert. Subsequently, we were not allowed to finish the punch list and I was basically ripped off for around $6000.00. To top it off, this duo then went on a social media crusade to trash my companies reputation by posting negative reports on every forum available. The fact that this couple started writing negative reports about my company in the middle of negotiations is an even greater testament to their lack of reasoning. I did my due diligence and offered every solution possible, but this was just a duo nobody was going to please. Johnny Oldja"

For this particular project we designed the new cabinet layout, removed the existing kitchen, installed new cabinets and fabricated and installed new quartz counter tops. This is the most professional company my wife and I have found since retiring to Florida. Johnny himself gave estimates and did exactly what he said he would do in the time frame he said he could do. The crews were totally professional and did the job without any problems. Johnny followed up to ensure things went correctly and to our wants. I cannot say enough good about his honesty and the integrity and professional demeanor of his crews whom performed the work. If you live in Florida it is rare to find anyone who will do what they say but this man and his business do it at a great price and great results. You can get other estimates as I did but don’t waste your time hire Oldja enterprises and you will love your choice!!! It is so refreshing to find a professional company!!!!

"Reviews such as this are such a nice benefit of working in the remodeling industry. Florida, in particular is known for its abundance of lousy contractors. It is always wise to check reviews prior to deciding on who to hire. I personally field measure all jobs and all of our crews have been with the company for years. We also offer professional kitchen design services in addition to a large showroom and onsite stone yard where we also fabricate and then install all our own counter tops (granite, marble and quartz). When you hire Oldja Enterprises for your kitchen remodeling needs you will have an experienced general contractor who finishes work in the agreed upon time frame and who is always working with your best interest in mind. Johnny helped with the initial planning and estimation of the remodel effort. Once the project started, he remained involved with the effort. Johnny's participation (periodic phone calls and occasional visits) after the project started was reassuring. From start to finish the entire effort was well coordinated and handled professionally. Every team member involved on the project (tile, granite, cabinet, plumbing, electrical) was professional, knew their craft well and courteous. Minor expectation gaps (primarily because of my failure to understand some elements of the project at a lower level of detail) were resolved to my satisfaction, without any hassle. Oldja's is truly a family business. Every member of Johnny's family involved in running the operations has an authentic customer satisfaction mindset.

Super experience and quality service start to finish with Team Oldja! After 30 years of military service and living under rental/base housing kitchens, we love our new remarkable kitchen thanks to Leslie at Oldja’s front office, Johnny the owner, and the cabinent/marble installers. Wow, we love all the space and quality craftsmanship; our home is now complete. Collectively, they were very flexible and professional to work with and we could not be happier with the results. We doubled a 1976 little space to 15 x 18 kitchen with a mobile island for cutting board and spices. Johnny and his team were personally involved throughout the process this leaving no stones unturned, final product says it all, fantastic. This was not an easy project since ceiling, walls, and floor all were uneven and not level, no worries though. Installers worked hand and hand with my ideas and adjustments to make it work. I made a punch list of corrections and they easily corrected everything to my expectations and standards as a military guy. No question I will use them for future bathroom renovations a couple years down the road.

"What makes this a very special report is the fact that the customer who wrote it is a two star general with the United States Army! What a great testimonial to have on my company! Oldja Enterprises was responsible for the kitchen design, cabinet sales & installation and granite countertop fabrication and installation. The design for this kitchen also included a bar area, which added a nice touch to the overall design. Please read his review on my company as above as it describes the process perfectly. Thank you very much for your business! Johnny Oldja"

It went better than I could have hoped. I broke every rule in the book by hiring Oldja Enterprises based solely on Angie's List reviews, and I am glad I did. The first person with whom I worked was Leslie Baker, Johnny Oldja's designer -- before I even met Johnny.. She helped me put my ideas down and was incredibly patient with the changes I made prior to agreeing to a final design. Hurricane Irma backed up Johnny's schedule, so he couldn't start until February, but once the work began, it moved very smoothly. His people -- Dennis, Paige, Mike and others -- did beautiful work. They did not settle for "good enough" on any aspect of the demolition or the installation of cabinetry, plumbing, lighting, etc. If they saw a problem, they pointed it out, we discussed it, and came to an agreement on the best solution. Communication all around was excellent. In addition, the crew had a great collective sense of humor, which made a stressful time a whole lot LESS stressful. Last, but not least, the guys hooked me up with an extraordinary custom woodworking company, which created and installed gorgeous floating shelves at a very reasonable cost, as the cabinet maker did not do floating shelves. I have an incredible new kitchen that I am very proud of and I cannot be happier with the project's outcome. I plan to contact Johnny in the fall, when I want to renovate my guest bathroom. I can't imagine using anyone else for that project.

"Thank you so much for the excellent review. This was a turn key kitchen remodel in which Oldja Enterprises was responsible for demolition, kitchen design, cabinet sales and installation, quartz countertop fabrication and installation, lighting, electric and plumbing. This customer is a college professor at SPC who had done quite a bit of research on what she wanted and on our company. She knew the look she was after and we were able to complete the project as outlined in our contract in a timely and professional manner. I am grateful for your business and the great report. Thank you, Johnny Oldja"

Very disappointed started with telling the owner and designer on one wall I have 4 cabinets your showing 2 answer don't worry it will be beautiful I should have known then this was not going to be a good experience. That mistake took 2 more weeks of no kitchen. A job that was supposed to take 2-4 weeks took 3 months due to the lack of attention to detail. When the correct cabinets came in one damaged they installed without saying anything until we pointed it out, no pride in work, more delays. We bought the amount of tile the owner told us to buy the subcontractor told us not enough, bought another box of 80.00 dollar tile we could not return, it's still in the garage unopened. We had to ask the subcontractor to add one more row of tile next to the refrigerator so there would be no gap and would look finished he said NO I had to remind him I was the customer and was not happy finally he completed. When you sign a contract that says paint ready wouldn't you think a skim coat to cover where the old cabinets were would be included, more frustration it was done but not until complaint to owner. Didn't give a F rating only because of the granite installers, they were the only ones with this company that showed good work ethics and were professional. There were many more problems we endured, when we asked the subcontractor if all jobs go this badly and the answer is no this has been the worst but no apologies it's very difficult to recommend this business. Far as we're concerned all this company cares about is getting paid and getting to next job.

From beginning to end this was a fantastic experience. The contractors were knowledgeable professional and timely. The work they performed was quality and in the end they took an old outdated 1940's kitchen and updated it beautifully. They were a joy to work with and we could not be happier with the results. they were able with some modifications to change the layout and give us more room while maintaining the original footprint.

Johnny was very professional and punctual when he came out to conduct an assessment on our kitchen remodel. The entire assessment took no longer than 30-minutes and Johnny was very helpful with a plan and vision. Johnny was very upfront about how he likes to work and the skills of his crew. He was also clear on indicating that doing such a large floor tile job (800 soft) was not something that was cost prohibitive for him to take on and I would need to source that work myself along with the ceiling retexture. Within two days, Johnny provided a visual design and even allowed us some collaborative feedback for making adjustments to the design. Once settled on a design, Johnny provided a fairly detailed cost estimate and bill of materials. Johnny and his staff was very responsive with their communication and their pricing was very fair on the estimate. I will reiterate, Johnny did not charge any fees for his consultation, visual designs or bill of materials. Although we ultimately did not go with Johnny because we wanted a single GC to handle the entire project, I would have no issues referring Johnny and his team to come out and bid your next kitchen or bath remodel. If it was not for the tile and ceiling retexture, we may have very well gone with Johnny.
