A&D Home Inspection

He was very patient and explained everything to me and the builder.  Extremely knowledgeable ... would use again in a heart beat!

The inspection was at 1:00 and I was told I didn't have to come but could if I wanted.   I showed up at 1:05 and he was already on the roof inspecting, and he immediately came up to me and introduced himself and told me very quickly what he was going to do.  I let him get back to work after that because he was ready to do his job, and I didn't want to get in the way of that.  Him and a lady did the house inspection while the seller, Realtor and I talked .  I had to leave a few minutes before the inspection was over to get back to work, so he walked me through everything that he was going to put on the report.  He also told me he would send me a report through email.  The report was really detailed.  It had pictures of the areas he inspected that needed repair and was divided into sections.  Along with the pictures there were notes on what needed to be done, and then at the end of the report there was an estimate on the price it would take in order to fix the problem.  He also gave me a card when I left the inspection and said I could call him about anything.  I feel the inspection process went great and I would recommend this provider.

My husband and I were very impressed with the work that the A&D folks did.  Because they are a husband and wife duo, they were able to finish our inspection in a much shorter amount of time than expected, while still being extremely thorough.  After he had finished inspecting, Darrell walked us through the house, and talked us through every single thing he had marked - giving tips on repairs and telling us the importance of each item.  He did a great job explaining things to us, and as first time buyers with very little house repair experience, we were greatly appreciative.  I would highly recommend A&D!!!

I was not there for the inspection, just my Realtor, so I cannot vouch for the personality of the home inspector. But the report that was provided was excellent. Very detailed and well put together, it is definitely worth every penny.

He arrived early, and had already walked the property by the time my family and our realtor arrived.  He allowed me to walk with him and answered my many questions regarding his findings.  He was very knowledgeable and was honest ang cognizant of when a specific concern beyond his knowledge required the advice of an expert. The high cost was due to the size of the house and other inspectors quoted similar inspection costs.  Overall, we were extremely pleased with A&D's services and will certainly use them for all future inspections.  Ultimately, we did not purchase the house because of the number and type of findings.  I feel very confident that if we have a house inspected by A&D we would be well armed to know whether to proceed with the purchase.

They identified several areas that needed repair in HVAC, plumbing, and roofing. We were able to negotiate with our sellers to have these repaired- exactly what we needed.
The report was very thorough and well laid out with good photos which the repair people used to identify how to start.
Definitely a professional experience we won't forget, and the Okie- British accent was quite enjoyable as well!

He was very thorough and seemed very knowledgeable about all aspects of home inspection.  He provided a highly detailed report with pictures showing all issues that were found during the inspection.  He also did a great job of delineating between which issues were repair issues and which issues were maintenance issues.  Most importantly, he took the time to answer questions that I asked regarding the issues he found.  

I would use Darrell again and would recommend him to anyone in need of home inspection services.  He did an excellent job and was well worth the cost of his service.

Mr. Thomas arrived exactly on time and presented a good first impression.  He was professional thoroughly went through the areas I had asked him to inspect.  When he finished he gave me a detailed explanation of the issues he had found that needed to be corrected and/or replaced and answered all of my questions thoroughly.  The next day he followed up with an extremely detailed, but easy to understand, report that included pictures he had taken during his inspection that were highlighted to indicate a particular problem or issue that the picture was intended to represent.  The report fully outlined each specific issue and gave an explanation of why it was an issue that needed to be addressed (e.g. not up to building code standards, fire hazard, etc.).  Mr. Thomas provided these services at a very reasonable price.  His inspection report allowed me to approach the company that had done the original work armed with the knowledge of what needed to be repaired and/or replaced, why those things needed to be done, and a host of pictures to show the company to support my complaints.  My dispute was eventually resolved with the roofing company as a result and they ultimately came back and entirely replaced the roof again.

Mr. Thomas is exceptionally knowledgeable when it comes to building codes, acceptable installation standards for various materials, and how to fix or replace something properly.  He was professional and explained each issue in terms that a layman like me, who is not in the building or construction business, could understand. 

A & D did a great job. They pointed out some serious foundation issues in the first home I was considering buying. They were very through and did a good job explaining the issues they found. Based upon their info, I decided not to purchase that home.

We requested a home inspection during the home-buying process. A&D did a thorough inspection, explained every issue discovered while at the home, and had a complete written report prepared within a few hours after leaving the home. The report, which included photos of issues recommended for repairs, was available online and could easily be shared with the realtor. If the house purchase goes through, I intend to use A&D again to inspect my current home before putting it on the market.

A & D Home Inspection service?.. Well what can I say... I cannot begin to express how impressed I was with the entire process of the inspection of the home I am planning on buying.  The appointment was easy, and convenient for my realtor and me.  They showed up on time, and immediately got right to work.  A thorough & detailed Home inspection with a system of identifying the problems that was efficient and detailed.  I was then taken around the house and all of the issues were pointed out and discussed.  Darrell was quick to point the things that were safety issues and the things that were just cosmetic. Within 24 hours I was e-mailed a link to my report.  All of
the issues that were discussed during the inspection were in this complete report, but there were pictures as well!!!! I have the opportunity to refer to the report as questions arise. I really think the report that was available on-line is so awesome!       

They were absolutely a joy to work with from the first phone call.  Darrell and Andrea were very personable, but professional. They both made me feel like they were there for me, and offered to answer questions even after the service was over.   I was very impressed with the service they performed, and I would recommend them to anyone needing and wanting a home inspection your new house.

Darryl and team were excellent. They went into small crawl spaces, flagged everything that needed work with tape making it easy to identify later, was very familiar with codes and standards. Assisted in identifying cost and method of repairs. Provided a detailed report with pictures of all work that needed to be done. Provides 5% off for Angie's Members. Very familiar with older homes and their unique plumbing and electrical issues.

Darrell was very thorough looking throughout the house and saw things that we had missed even though we had inspected the house a couple of times already. He took the time to thoroughly explain all the issues he found and made recommendations for their repair. The report he provided us following the inspection was very thorough and easy to understand.

Darrell did a good job.  He was very friendly and worked quickly.  He also followed up after sending the inspection report to answer any questions I may have had.  The report was very detailed with pictures of the items inspected.  Darrell seemed very knowledgeable.  One reason I chose his services, besides having a very good rating on Angie's List, was that he also inspects well and septic.  He did a well water quality check (took two samples), which resulted in needed treatment.  I had hoped for a bit more detail on the well and septic, as this costs extra to inspect.  There was no information provided in the report about these systems, though we discussed them in minor detail during the walk through.

Darrell was exceedingly professional, punctual and polite.  He arrived at the stated time and diligently examined the home, not rushing or otherwise cutting corners.  He identified issues that the untrained eye would never have seen, and provided options and suggestions for resolving some of those issues.  Darrell walked around with a digital camera and snapped countless pictures of each and every issue, which he would later insert into a comprehensive report to send me.
He spent several hours examining the home, tagging and noting issues he wanted to address with me personally.   Upon the conclusion of his examination, he walked me through the home (inside and out) to point out some things he wanted to bring to my attention for either the buying process or the repair/replace process upon purchase.  This was a great service as I am a rookie in this particular area, and Darrell patiently explained to me the issues, causes and costs.  The walk-through took approximately 45 minutes, which was 45 well-spent minutes.  I feel so much more educated now than I did prior to Darrell's inspection.
Darrell inspected my home from 9am until approximately noon.  By 10pm that same evening, Darrell sent me a 45-page report detailing his findings, including multiple photographs, close-ups and explanations of the issues.  This report will be instrumental in the process of purchasing the home, notably in respect of both (a) improving the condition of the home, and (b) negotiating with the seller.  
Without reservation, I would strongly recommend A&D Home Inspection.  I will almost certainly hire Darrell again to inspect any home construction projects I undertake in the future.

Darrel and his lovely assistant (His wife) were a great team. They scheduled my appointment promptly in the midst of the holidays. Darrel was super informative of everything he inspected, explaining every detail to my non-handyman level to complete understanding, truly bridging the gap!!! Darrel gave me many heads up on future repairs to be on the look out for even with a estimate to prepare me, AWESOME advice for a soon-to-be 1ST X HOME OWNER!!! The home report was thorough giving me a great understanding of cost for repairs & highest of importance. He also made himself available for assisting with finding the "RIGHT" professionals that would be required for repairs. Darrel and his daughter (assistant) were punctual and spent the first 2+ hours performing the inspection. Afterward he took me and showed me all the concerns that he had and he had addressed. The document provided was AN OUTSTANDING report. The items identified were pictured when necessary and detailed to the point that I could understand it with my limited knowledge of home construction. I would recommend him highly.

The inspection was done in a timely manner and he sent us the report that same night!

After the home inspection was completed we found a few things were not up to code that A&D did not flag. We were not happy to find this out and would not recommend their services.

My husband really liked working with them. They took their time and even crawled under the house to check everything. They spent about three and a half hours insepcting the work. When I called to schedule the appointment on Thursday they were able to come and complete the inspection the following Monday.
