Per an insurance inspection, I needed to add a blank circuit filler plate and a few grommets to cover some wires in the breaker box. Bolt Electric sent two workers out. They moved a slim 2 pole breaker from the top of the box to the bottom where the filler plate was supposed to go, corresponding to the inspectors photos. The problem was they put it in the wrong slot and my water heater stopped working. I did not realize this until after they left. They then literally used black electrician's tape to tape the filler plate to the top of the breaker box where the slim 2 pole breaker used to sit. I did not realize they used electricians tape to fasten the filler plate until after they left and I touched it, causing it to become unsecured because it was fastened by tape. They apparently used tape because they did not have a the proper size blank with them.
I chose Bolt electric over my usual Angie's List electrician because this was a simple project and because of their $49.00 "deal." I ended up having to call my usual Angie's List electrician out, who installed standard 2 pole breaker in the area where the taped filler plate had been located. They then resecured the wires that had been relocated by Bolt Electric into the new standard breaker, and tested my water heater, which now worked. The standard breaker also made the need for a filler plate unnecessary, since the prior breaker was slim.
I cannot believe that any licensed electrician would use tape fasten a filler plate. They should have the materials they commonly need with them and if not, go get the items instead of taking extreme short cuts. Also, they should not move working breakers as a short cut either. Finally, if they do move working breakers, they should test them to ensure they are working.
This "deal" ended up costing me more money. Bolt Electric is so unprofessional that I decided I could not trust them to repair the problems they caused. I would never let them in my home again.

We are a very experienced and professional electrical company providing quality work for our customers and, as evidenced by our 2000+ “A” reviews on Angie’s list, we do succeed in this goal. Thank you for reading this review. I hope you will feel comfortable allowing us to service you."
Perhaps I have unrealistic expectations on pricing, but I found some of the items quoted to simply be excessive.
As an example, I have a junction box and an old timer box above my water heater. The timer mechanism is gone, so it's acting as a second junction box. I just wanted this cleaned up so it was a single junction box - $178.
Add a second outlet near the master bath vanity - $298.
Replacing the pool light switch above - $258.
Installing eight can lights in the combo dining/living room - $2064.
The house has great attic access throughout with easy access to the panel and install locations.
Summarizing, Travis was really nice, on-time, and professional. I just can't go with what seems to be an excessive fixed-price estimate.
The technician arrived on time and was professional, friendly and courteous. I received a call letting me know he was on his way, which was nice. He explained what he needed to do and got to work. The wiring required that he go into the attic crawl space and he had some issues getting to where he needed to go, so he had to have another guy come out to help. Once they worked that out, everything went smoothly.
"We are confused by this review as we do service the customers area. We apologize for any confusion or miscommunication."
We purchased the $59 Service call with $100.00 off service. I called Bolt Electric and scheduled an appointment. We asked for our 2 outside lights to be fixed and dryer breaker installed. Customer Service called the night before that the service guy would call before he arrived and the ETA was 8-10am. At around 9:00am there was a knock at my door which was the Bolt Electrician. No phone call before arrival. I showed him the panel, dryer placement and both outside lights. He was unprepared to look or even fix the outside light up front. The light out back was deemed unsafe along with power to shed. He checked the small panel and garage. Of course we will have to replace both panels which will cost over $3000.00. He installed the breaker for the dryer, receptacle and plug. I was checking on him about a half hour and noticed another new breaker. I asked and was told the garage power needed a new breaker. In the garage there was loose exposed wires so he installed a junction box and cut the power to shed. After all that in which he had to leave to buy a dryer receptacle I got charged $482.00. This did not include the $100.00 off service. So really in the end I spent $59.00 on Angie's List and another $482.00 and only got the dryer working. How do you think it went?!!!
