Test drove car and then inspected. Diagnosis = needed new alternator. Replaced alternator with new one (3 yr. warranty) and also changed oil, filter, etc. I had made an appointment, so they took me right away. Did assessment and repairs all within an hour and half. Excellent shop with very professional personnel. Highly recommended. A+

I would use them in the future. They have a lounge area. It took a half an hour maybe. I would recommend them to a friend or family member.

My Toyota Avalon had a COP ignitor go bad on cylinder one, causing the engine to miss badly. Thanks to the crappy Toyota design, all kinds of engine parts are removed before you can get to that inward cylinder bank. While the engine is apart, the 2 other cylinders on the same bank were done due to the labor of replacing just one COP. All in all, a big chunk of change, but a lot less $$ than a dealer would charge. Anyway, as I was pulling away after the overnight service, one of the owners noticed a noise in the front of the car. They determined that it was a bad tensioner pulley. It needed fixed also as it was going bad. Because the owner felt that that issue should have been caught while doing the other service, they proceeded to fix the issue just for the cost of the pulley part - no labor! I would have felt it fair that they charge labor for that repair also, but they threw labor in because they almost let me drive away with that bad pulley. It is little wonder that they are rated #1. PS, I also received the other 2 COPs that were replaced, so now I have some spares.

They are really good. I had a really old car so they did just about everything to keep it running. They are pretty honest there and that’s the bottom line. They gave me something to work when I was working and stuff so I thought that was good.

I have used these people for about a year. Previous to this visit I asked them to check the tires as I had had a blow out and it was replaced and it was losing air. They said they were all good. Come to find out, the one that had been replaced was way old, had plugs and a metal plate in it. So I replaced that with a Mastercraft from Kauffman. So that left 3 coopers on the auto. They totally missed it the bad tire with the plate and plugs. On 9/2/16 I went in again, stating same thing I am losing air. The guy told me that with the weather you have to put air in your tires monthly, and all tires were good and air put in etc. When I left the alignment was so bad I had to literally hold the steering wheel to the left, but on Seminole blvd with hurricane weather I thought it was my imagination as the guy that test drove the car would have noticed. It sat for 2 days during the rains, when I took it out again same thing so I took it to Sears for alignment, and told them about the tire losing air, she said take it back to Kauffman it is under warrantee. I just returned from Kaufman, they informed me that I had a tire on that was from 1999 and I should not be driving on it. I said no, I have 3 coopers and the one you put on. He showed me a tire Michelin with numbers indicating it was manufactured in 1999. I immediately called Christine and said I was sure that as they were rotating tires they just grabbed the wrong one. GET THIS, she told me that could not happen as Honda is unique and Honda is the only car that uses that tire size. I realized they did not know much about tires thru experience, but when she told me this, and I know not much about cars, I knew they know nothing about tires. I then told her then it was deliberate, and she informed me there was no way that could or would happen. Too bad, so sad for you, you can't prove it and we are not going to do anything about it.

Went to Hummel because it had what seemed like good ratings. My son’s car was flooded, thus at Hummel for repair. The service person Kim started out aggressive and down right rude. Finding additional damage instead of contacting our insurance, she called my son demanding we pay. I told her, I will speak to the insurance. Done deal insurance said no problem we’ll pay. Today Kim called saying the car was ready. When we arrived to pick the car up and pay our deductible, Kim refused to release the car without Progressive’s check. At no time during the repair process (a week and a half) did Kim say, they would not release the car until Progressive Insurance paid. I’ve never had this experience, my insurance “Progressive” said they would work direct with the repair company. The  insurance adjuster, Michael spoke with Kim several times throughout the process. He said she never mentioned not releasing the car until Hummel received Progressive’s check. I too had not experienced this manner of doing business during an insurance claim. We provided Kim with documentation showing the checks were issued to Hummel and written in the correct amount/s. She still refused to release the car. I am disabled, yet by her aggressive and ruthless demands, I was forced to drive to Progressive in Oldsmar Florida, 21 miles away. I had to bring back a check or she would not release the car. We met her demands. My son just drove off the lot a couple miles down the road the engine like came on. He took the car back, Hummel is now saying it’s the O2 sensor, and that’s not included in our claim. Michael with Progressive specifically told Kim yesterday to replace all needed parts, Progressive would take care of it. I don’t understand why Hummel didn’t test drive the car before calling to say it was ready. Not professional and Kim’s aggressive treatment of any person, especially a disabled person is down right deplorable. FYI called Progressive they are paying us direct to speed up the process, my son is there now waiting for his car to be repaired again.
