VISUAL DYNAMICS INC

They are an Apple reseller so ANY repairs requiring parts will take a minimum of two days for the parts to arrive. My MacBook Pro is under warrranty and Apple Care so that is why there was no cost. They performed the diagnostics in front of me and it passed, but we confirmed the TouchID was not working. I asked if I could keep the computer until the parts arrived and was told no, sigh. Two days later I was called and told that they replaced the logic board and it was ready for pick-up. I turned it on and everything seemed fine until I go it home and once I plugged the AC adapter in I noticed that he battery was at 55% (I keep it fully charged most of the time), so I figured the did the data migration under battery power. But once I plugged the AC Adapter in the right fan spin up to full speed and would not slow down. This was NOT a symptom when I brought it in. I called and took it back, sigh again. They should have done a FULL diagnostic on both battery power and AC power before telling me it was ready. This time they kept it another week while they replaced the fan and battery module and another logic board (I guess they got a bad one from Apple). But the next call I got when I called for status on the promised repair date was that they shipped it to another store and I would get a call from the tech, which did not happen. I called the next day and was told they had to send the computer back to Apple and I would see it in 3-5 business days...it had been a week an a half by this time and a Friday...so you know nothing was going to be done over the weekend (not Visual Dynamics Fault). The following Thursday 17 days after I dropped it off, I was called and told me that Apple replaced everything by the display. I brought my AC Adapater and checked it out in store and everything seemed to be working fine over the last 4 days. I have used Visual Dynamics before and had great service and did on this attempt, but I am concerned about the lack of doing a full operations check on the first try and the shuffling of the computer between shops. If they would have called me and told me we found more things wrong, at the outset, I would be completely satisfied and understanding. But, it seems this warranty repair took an additional week while they tried to cover some mishandling in their repair department. But they are the only Apple certified repair source within 50 miles and it was a warranty/free repair.
