General Remodeling, Pool and Spa Servicing
Report from 12/29 - first time we went into the store: We were only there about three minutes, tops. The guy was (a) pretty deaf (we had to repeat most everything we said to him) and (b) amazing rude and argumentative. He seemed unable to understand what we were looking for and clearly hasn't subscribed to the 'customer is always right' approach to dealing with the public. I suggested to my husband that we probably ought to go elsewhere and the salesman slammed the spa cover down and said "Good idea!" Guess we won;t be buying from them.
Report from 1/3/14 - second time we went into the store: Since Hot Springs hot tubs have such a good rep we tried again to check them out. This time we called first to see who was working and it was definitely NOT the guy we encountered the first time, so we braved another visit. We got a tremendous amount of information about the whole line and left understanding the different features, what was included, what was available now and what the wait time for ordering was. We spend about an hour in there and really, really liked one of the spas. Still working on what brand to buy but this one was definitely a contender. I recommend dealing with Paul at this store.
Well, around mid-Jan we bought the floor model but couldn't have it until a replacement arrived from the factory. We got $1,000 the price and expected it to take about 4 weeks. Two weeks later he called to say it was available, actually, a brand new one was available from the warehouse. Claimed his partner sold the floor model and it had already been delivered to someone. Unclear at this point if we were getting last year's model or this year's but either was fine. The deal was quite screwy and it was hard to believe the things we were told. Fortunately, we got this year's model, brand new and still had the $1,000 off.
When it was deliver a week later, the display wasn't working properly. We called in for service and the repair people came out within a couple days with a new display, except, the store had sent the display for LAST YEAR's model, not the new model. Gosh, how hard is this? Another display was ordered, obtained and the repair person came back and installed it. It is working just fine. We love the hot tub! but still aren't enamored with the guy running the shop.

Tried out Hot Springs Spa models in store 3 times over 5 weeks.
Ordered and accepted early delivery for the "new" salt water system model (had been out for nearly 2 yrs).
Since Day 1 the salt levels and/or chlorine levels are often read incorrectly by the spa's control panel
The spa is not maintaining a safe level of chorine to allow use of the spa
The technician staff changed over frequently and except for one person, most were not knowledgeable of the salt-water system
Hot Springs Spa company is no help- they refer all consumer support to local dealer
The local dealer has changed hands since purchase and he has no history of the problems in the store
The current dealer has been unable to correct the problem of no chorine despite high salt levels
For the past 4-5 days Joe he has been "looking into it" and has asked us to "wait for a call".
We are hoping he comes up with a solution to correct the problem or provide us with a spa that works as designed.
