Great! He tried to repair old and worn out lock but he was not satisfied, so he replaced.

Darrell responded quickly to initial inquiry.  When several emergencies occurred on the day work was to be performed he made a quick call and prior to arriving advised of revised time.  Work was done neatly and at proposed price.  Darrell took time to explain what he was doing and politely answered all questions.

Everything was just fine!  He arrived as promised and very quickly was able to rekey the front door lock.  He discovered that the old garage door lock couldn't be rekeyed but needed to be replaced.  He had the right replacement on the truck and was able to replace it without delay!   Darrell replied to my first phone call immediately and scheduled his visit within a day or two.  (It was not an emergency.)  When the garage door lock was sticking, he returned on a Saturday afternoon to make an adjustment.  The lock works smoothly now.  He is courteous, knowledgeable and prompt.  I would recommend Darrell's Locksmith without hesitation.

You know when on those rare occasions that you experience special service and you actually are truly motivated to stop and do a review?  My experience with Darrell's Locksmith was one of those. I called him one evening a bit panic stricken. Being out of state with no one to get a referral from I did a search.  A locksmith is one of those providers you just don't want to get wrong. I saw good reviews on Google...but I felt compelled to be extra cautious. I went to Angie's list--and added the Sarasota area to my base membership for about $8.  My work paid off. In the evening, in the middle of hard down pouring rain, Darrell quickly answered his phone--said he was just unloading from the day. I asked him if he wanted me to call back considering this.  He said, no, and clearly wanted to help.
He's simply amazing. He gave me a sense of confidence pretty early on not only with his immediacy, but also with his knowledge, confidence and eagerness to help. He asked me all the pertinent questions, gave me pricing and said he'd get me into his schedule the next day!  I had a situation that couldn't wait beyond the next day and he did it.  We spoke when he was about 1/2 way through the job where he thoroughly explained what he found, what he would do to solve it and mastered the entire job like a real pro.  Not only does he have significant experience and depth in his field, but he seems to keep up on technology and security issues.  The job ended up being more extensive than I had originally thought, although it was not surprising at all as I knew the locks were original to the home. It was not because Darrell tried to sell me more than we needed.  He found cheap, old locks that were so easy to break into--he replaced everything with high quality, secure locks.  Not cheap big box home building center stuff. He was very fair with his additional pricing.  In fact I thought his original quote was pretty darn fair, if not low, to begin with. 
I hadn't even thought about finishes I was so concerned about getting the place secured.  But Darrell was on top of his game, unlike some contractors that just put in what ever finish they have on their truck, Darrell carefully made sure he'd install a finish that worked well with existing finishes on light fixtures. And a well stocked truck he has.  I've since had follow up things and a new request. He is so responsive and responsible. Do not ever hesitate to call on Darrell's.  Sarasota is a better place with Darrell's service.

He was a little late because of a scheduling error.  He did great work and was fairly priced.

A locking mechanism broke on a door we use about 50 times a day that goes outside.  Wasn't able to unlock or open the door.  I found Darrells Locksmith here and gave him a call.  He was at my house inside of 30 minutes.  He was extremely nice and professional and fixed the problem in about 20 minutes.  Couldn't be happier.

This morning the knob for our front door came off as we tried to open it.  We were able to use the knob to get the mechanism to move, but we knew it was done for.  We went to Angie's list and looked up locksmiths in our area and Darrell's was at the top of the list with the best reviews.  We called and he said he could get out later that morning.  He asked us to email him a picture or two of the knob and lock so he could look through his inventory of parts to be prepared to do repairs if possible.  We sent the pictures and he called back to say he got them and had some parts.
He called at the time he was planning to be at our home to say that he was just finishing up a job that was a little farther away than he thought.  (Very thoughtful.)  He arrived only about 15 mintues later than he had earlier projected.
He was familiar with our 30 year old lock and mechanism but it had snapped off and was really beyond repair.  In his truck he had a very good replacement that matched the metal finishes in our home and we had him replace it.  
While he was here I had him replace the knob and lock from the kitchen to the garage which was the same vintage as the from door and very near failing. His price was very good for the second lock and since he was already here saved a service call. I asked him about our deadbolt lock and he said it was very good, in good shape and didn't need replacing.
The garage/kitchen door frame was not quite square and Darrell had to do a little work with a chisel to make the strike plate just right.  The entire time he was here he was in a good mood, talking to us and the dogs about what he was doing.  He worked quickly and efficiently and was done in under an hour

Darrell was great - when I opened the door he had his business card out front so I could tell it was him straight away, then he re-keyed two of our locks and gave us 4 keys. It was all nice and fast.

Darrell was very flexible with our schedule, and came as scheduled even though he had bigger jobs than ours. He did the work as agreed, making sure the new materials fit properly and worked as they were supposed to. He even had extra materials in his truck to use when the one we bought were no good.

Darrell was great. First, he gave me very useful advice on the pros and cons of different options. Since I wanted an electronic deadbolt on one of the doors, he suggested I buy that myself from Lowe's or Home Depot, since they sell them for less than he can. Everything was done right and professionally, and his price was very fair. Finally, he's a really pleasant guy.

This obviously wasn't rocket science but I was impressed with his quick service, and professionalism

Forgot appointment but after I called he was here in 15 min and completed the work in 30 min. Apologized. Was very professional and knowledgable. Made spare keys and all locks now work!!

Darrell offered us a same day appointment and arrived on time.  He is thorough and capable.  Best of all, Darrell is just a very nice guy!  He did an efficient job and even performed some extra work on one of the locks that was not originally requested.  I would highly recommend Darrells Locksmith and plan to call him again.

When I first called Darrell about changing out my corroded front door hardware, he told me to call the manufacturer (Schlage) to see if they would replace it free. They did, and I had it in hand within a week of my request. Darrell then came back and did all the work in a professional, instructional and pleasant manner.
