We bought about $20,000 worth of furniture from them last year and one of the things we bought was a bedroom set. The salesman suggested Serta Black so we laid on it for a while and it seemed comfortable so we bought it. After about two weeks of sleeping on it I noticed my back was sore every morning when I woke up. Didn't realize it was the mattress till we went on vacation for a week and my back pain went away from sleeping on the hotel mattress. Came back home and my back pain started up again. The mattress started sagging in the middle after about three weeks. I called up Baer's and told them what was going on and the manager told me that I should have realized this while we were trying out the mattress in the store. Really? Horrible service! Wouldn't take the mattress back or even let us exchange it for another one. He was a complete jerk on the phone. Nice way to talk to a customer that spends that much money in your store. Will never go back. Beware of this place!!!!!! 3/1/18 So now I just got a call after their so called technician came out to check our bed and said that it's a 1/2 inch from being defective and we can file another claim in 90 days. Are you serious? This horrible mattress sinks down when we lay in it. The technician stated that it's a half inch off on one side but it's not quite defective enough to be replaced!!! Unreal!!!! Do not do business with these crooks!!!!!!!!!! Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy said it is what it is, it's made in China. He wrote a report and they called back and said that their service rep didn't feel that there was nothing out of the ordinary. They said that I could call the service manager, so I called the service manager and left a message. I called again and left a message, I never heard back from them. It was a high end couch. I am not holding them responsible for the product because, they are just selling it. They did send someone out.

The wrong rug was ordered and delivered to our house. This was not a major issue, because it's understandable that people make mistakes. We tried to reorder the rug, but the same exact rug was delivered. It came in and it was the wrong color. We tried to resolve it with the salesperson, Kevin. He promised us a $100 credit on the rug.  It has now been about 2 months and there has been no response. We tried not only phone calls but sending emails as well but they haven't returned either.

We purchased a power recliner.  After much confusion on the delivery (tried to deliver two chairs), we realized the chair was squashed toward one side, the stitching was uneven and there was a dark line through the leather.  We called Bear's and had to schedule their service man to come and check the chair himself (one week).  He did and agreed that it was defective.  He called their office and we scheduled an exchange for another chair.  When I asked what happens if the second chair is defective, I was told that Baer's will work to exchange it again or we can have a store credit.  They NEVER refund any purchase regardless of the reason.  No surprise, the second chair was delivered and it too was defective (parts pulled away from the frame and crooked).  We were advised to refuse delivery and they will reschedule for a third chair.  We expressed our dismay and were told by the person we spoke to at the corporate office that he will check the chair himself and make sure it is fine.  Today they called and admitted that the entire stock of these chairs are defective.  Our choice is to wait until March when they will have a new shipment or to take the store credit and pick out something else.  No refunds - ever - even when the merchandise is admittedly defective it comes back on the consumer. We of course expressed that we will not pay any further delivery charges and were assured we will not have to.

Shameful practice.  We would NEVER recommend Baer's to anyone.

When we sat down with the sales woman we stated that we're interested in a specific sectional.  She informed us that it did not exist because it was not listed in her reference book.  When I asked if that page could have been misplaced she said "listen to me, I have been doing this for many years and that I know what I am doing".  After turning a few pages the page was there.  No apologies or even an oops was either vocalized, expressed or implied by the sales woman.  At this point we knew we would not purchase anything through her but believing the end justifies the means, we wanted to at least get an understanding of the sectionals from this grouping.  The sales woman could not even read the manufacturers templates and began to assert her belief that we were wrong and she was right. Subsequently, I pointed to her the diagram in her book showing that the pieces we wanted was in fact shown on the diagram.  Based upon the rude behavior towards us and the lack of knowledge of their inventory we left and went to a prior visited furniture store that showed us the courtesy due us as customers.

We had trouble with the cushions, they weren’t properly made and it felt like you were sitting in a hole.  They sent someone out and they put more foam in but it didn’t help.  We said we wanted to return the furniture and exchange it for higher quality furniture, and I was willing to pay more for higher quality.  The salesman and store manager couldn’t help us, they said it had to be handled by the home office, but the home office never followed up.  After I submitted a complaint to the BBB they responded, but never helped resolve the issue and never called me back, and my warranty has expired.  Long story short we still have the lumpy furniture.  Sometimes the recliner mechanism tears the leather, they haven’t been able to repair it.

  I wrote to them 3 times without a response over the past year.  I called and spoke to one of the rudest "customer service reps" ever.  I was told that their warrantee is 1 year from date of purchase and they would not do anything further for us.

After repeated attempts by Baer's to repair/repaint base, we were informed that they could not repair or replace and offered us full store credit.  Since they did not have any other table we liked we asked for refund.  They agreed but told us a refund to our credit card would take two weeks.  After two weeks we contacted Customer Service where we were treated quite rudely. While never refusing to provide our refund, after repeated calls they can't tell us when the refund might occur.  As we had recently purchased more furniture from this store, we called the credit card company and put in a dispute.  It is now  one month and still no credit has been issued.  The salesman (who has sold us many thousand  of dollars worth of furniture in past year) refused to "get involved".
