All went fine. Water pressure was low and well pump ran constantly. The pressure reservoir/tank was more full than usual so internal air bladder went bad. That required reservoir/tank to be replaced and I also had technician replace pressure gauge and relay switch. Unfortunately the well pump pressure was also low. So long story short I had the well pump replaced. It was probably about 15 years old or more. Can't say for sure since this rental property was purchased in 2014. The well pump job involved additional components: A new junction box at well head for the electrical connections, replacement wiring from junction box to submerged pump, 3 sections of 20 foot 1 1/4 pipe along with various plumbing fittings and a new pressure release valve. The well pump job and repipe required a special truck with 30 foot (?) crane to pull out the 3 sections of pipe at 20 foot each. It wasn't a cheap job. Tank job was about $800 and another $2000 for well pump job and parts plus about $200 in sales tax. Overall it was $3057. But it was a completely professional job and I'm so glad I have rent money to cover that cost over time.

We didn't end up buying the property because of the emence amount of money it would take to fix it up to being livable. They were fantastic on the phone and didn't hesitate to give me an estimate when I had told them I may not end up have it done.

We have lived on this property for 10 years, lightning took out the first pump, and we had gone with the previous owners recommendation of using Stuart French. He helped develop this 8 house one street development. He was excellent, the second time the pump went out, we were out of town. Came back and sadly found out, Stuart French had died.

After calling Steve Young, slow to get there, and not explaining anything, said we just needed a whole new pump. There was no lightning, no reason. $1800. Then two years or less, it happened again, no explanation, another new pump.

This weekend we had another, no water incident, we called Steve Young's answering service over three times. NO CALL BACK, after two pumps.

Dick Joyce tech, called back immediately, and showed up on a Sunday night in the rain. He needed the wench to retrieve a wire that was shorting out from, Steve Young's faulty workmanship (sloppy wiring, and they use PVC vs. metal tubes)

The service guy from Dick Joyce was quick to say these things can happen, but I am here to say I do not recommend Steve Young on Quality, or Service, or Trustworthiness especially after thousands of dollars spent, and the answering service, and service guys all admitted Steve Young is never around on the weekend because he is at the beach. (and our water pump has always decide to shut down on the weekend)

If you live in Lake Mary, Longwood, area, call Dick Joyce

Out of water, Sunday afternoon - YIKES!  We originally called the phone number on the water tank at 3:00 Sunday afternoon, people came at 7:30 and after they left, neither my husband nor I had a comfortable feeling and we still did not have water.  I checked Angie's list and found Dick Joyce Well Drilling and called a little after 8:00.  I received a call been within 5 minutes and it was agreed that the service man would come out that evening.  Ryan arrived at the time he estimated and starting working on our problem.  He was very knowledgeable, professional and just a nice guy.  He changed out the control box and checked everything out.  He explained what was going on and that we did not need a new tank (as we were previously told) but to check it in a month to make sure it was holding the correct psi.  We, as home owners, appreciate a company that does not want to replace things until it is a necessity.  Ryan took the time to explain the equipment they would use if and when we did need to replace our tank or our pump.  To be able to get service late on a Sunday night and have water speaks volumes for Dick Joyce Well Drilling.  We are pleased to be able to have a reliable and honest company to contact in the future, because when you have a well, you will need service.  We highly recommend you call this company!

We Domestic well had a low water table problem causing the water output to diminish, cavitate and lose pressure. The column was set at 61 feet with a 3" motor/pump configuration. At that level we were unable to go lower. Dick Joyce recommended we switch to a smaller diameter motor/pump combo to allow the column to fit in the lower portion on the well casing. This recommendation proved to be accurate, the result being the ability to lower the column an additional 21 feet. This solved our water "shortage" problem. The expertise and "local" knowledge base when choosing Dick Joyce solved our problem with a reasonable price structure. I would recommend this company to anyone. Having previous knowledge of the technicalities and pricing of domestic wells from out west, I am sure this company has the highest standards in integrity and knowledge.

First, I'll make the point I want users to be aware of. This company will charge you roughly FOUR TIMES more for the pump than it's actual cost. I looked up the model on four separate sources with free shipping. It was anywhere from 275 to 450 for this exact model. They charged me 1630.00! My advice, order the pump and have it there for them to install. The pump will have it's own warranty and they'd have to charge you the labor to pull it again anyway. The pulling labor and such seemed in line. I received no up front written quote of any kind. He did toss a couple numbers at me from his truck as he was leaving, but nothing I can recall or that meant anything to me. I went to home depot and shopped on line for 2HP residential pumps and figured around 450.00 so I let it go. When came time to pay, imagine my shock when I saw the pump price they charged me.
Now the time line. I called them on a Thursday morning when I found I had no water. I started at 0700 as they state that they have 24hr response. The call service took all my details and said if I didn't hear back within 20 min, to call back. I gave them 30. Same thing. an hour later, I called and got a live person. (Had this one failed, I'd have moved on to another vendor.)
A guy named Tim was dispatched to come take a look. He called on his way, and was very punctual and polite. Definitely an old salt at this game. After confirming that the issue was down the well and he would need his crane to pull it out, he advised me that the truck was busy until Friday. Friday he called and said it was still tied up. So, I pushed to Monday. I give Tim a plus for communication.
Monday arrives. Tim calls advises that they are on the way. Again great commo  and was right on time. They did a great job (Tim and another member). Knew what they were doing. Quickly got to work, got the pipes pulled up, the old pump, replaced a couple corroded sections of pipe, new wires, and down it went one section at at time. Once they got it hooked up, they confirmed correct operation and ran it though an auxiliary pipe until it ran clear. (disrupted silt and sediment from pulling it out of the hole.) They checked the air level in the pressure tank and made sure the rest of the well system worked properly before they wrapped it up.
Then the bill....
I've called the company and requested to speak with someone of authority to ask for an adjustment.
I'll post an update with their decision.
Update: The response is that they want me to get a quote on letterhead from three other well drilling companies where the price is reflective of what I'm finding and then they may work with me. They will not accept the printed and public pricing from on line supply companies or local construction or plumbing supply companies. Again, do your homework UP FRONT. Find out what pump they use to replace yours, and ORDER IT ahead!!
Would I used them again or recommend them to someone?
Based on their work alone, I'd day yes.
BUT, only if I get a reasonable quote in writing and I'd certainly recommend that anyone else do the same and then negotiate anything that seems way out of the realm of reason.

Dennis did a thoroughly professional job.  I didn't know the location of the well pump, but he found it in about 10 minutes.  I watched the whole process and was impressed with how thorough and meticulous he was throughout the whole process.  I didn't know how deep the well was, and their quote made an assumption on the horsepower of the pump and the amount of pipe that would be needed.  The quote was perfectly accurate.  That's because the company researched other wells dug in our area before making the quote.   It's a pleasure doing business with a company that is competent.  The reason I gave a C grade on Responsiveness is that the job was rescheduled twice, although I understand why.  My pump runs our sprinkler system while they had a number of calls to fix pumps that supplied drinking water.  All in all, a pleasant experience.

The day after I called to report the problem a service person was at the house. He attempted to repair the pump and advised that it needed to be replaced. He showed up the next day and replaced the pump and piping. He stayed while we tested the system and all had been working great since! I rated price as "N/A" only because I did not shop around.

I had previously obtained an estimate for fixing the well head, but did not have the service done as it was not urgent.  We started to have air in the system, so I called on a Saturday and received a call back within the quoted 20 minutes.  We agreed that they would come out on Monday if possible.
On Monday morning, I received a call that they were able to come out.  Tim pulled the pump, and cut off the well head and replaced with PVC collar and pipe.  As the pump was 20 years old, and we had to replace at least some of the downpipe, we decided to replace the pump, downpipe, and the electrical box.
Tim was pleasant and willing to answer all my questions.

No work was done, but I was very disappointed with this company. I called Wednesday at 9am to ask if someone could come by to replace my water-logged and leaking pressure tank. On the phone I described exactly the tank size and model and was told someone would come Friday morning and call one hour before. I took off Friday and waited. At noon I called the office and was told they were running late and may not be able to make it that day. She said they were so busy it may not even be Monday, but rest assured they would call an hour before. I said that I found it strange that they would expect me to wait several days at home for a phone call. She said she would check with her boss and call back later. An hour later I got a call saying that they would try to be at my home by the end of Friday. I waited the rest of the day and a guy came around 5pm.
He looked at my well and said that the whole system was obsolete. It would cost around $3000 to replace the  tank, aerator, pump and water softener. I said that it all works well and we are happy with the clean water in our house, and only the pressure tank needs replacing. He said this would cost $575 and he would be able to put it in next week on Wednesday or Thursday. That would be over a week after I called.
I had found online that my exact same tank costs between $200 and $250, so I found it a bit excessive to charge $325 for labor. I decided to go with another company (Trentham Well Drilling), who came out within hours after calling and replaced the tank for $400.
I would not normally leave a review of a company where I ended up buying nothing, but Dick Joyce wasted my entire day, delayed the replacement of my water tank by several days, were unprofessional on the phone and in person, tried to sell me a whole new unnecessary system for thousands of dollars, and would have overcharged me for installing the new tank.
