Mike and his team were very professional and his rate was lower than other companies I contacted. Unfortunately, my terrazzo floors weren’t in great condition. I was quite pleased with the polishing and most of the stain removal. However, I was not impressed with the filling in of the many divots caused by carpet nails. The color and size of the stones used in the fill were off and the texture wasn’t smooth. Some are very noticeable. There didn’t seem to be much artistry in their work. Kind of slapdash. Overall, my floors look about 80% better. I have put down several strategically placed area rugs.

Before I hired Mike, I had another company in the area refinish my Terrazzo floors (Finishline). They did a horrible job on my floors and I asked Mike (who I should have went with from the first place) to step in and help. Even though he was busy and doesnt like to do redo work he generously accepted the job. He tirelessly worked day and night for several weeks to make my floors right (it had terrible staining that the other company could not fix). I am grateful that Mike was willing to step in and fix the problem. Long story short - Go with Mike and you wont regret it. He and his team are experts in Terrazzo refinishing and you wont be disappointed! Thank you Mike for all you did!

I was having furniture delivered and needed the terrazzo cleaned. Mike was able to squeeze us in the day before the furniture came. I really do appreciate that! The floor came out great. Thanks Mike.

Fantastic love the floor

It went well. It took a few days longer than first expected but they cared more about the quality of the job then hurrying and not doing a quality job.

Mike and his Gulf Coast Floor crew spent additional time (days) with removal of stains as it was much worse than we thought. I did not think it could be fixed but Mike just asked to please give him the chance and I am glad I listened to him. The floors are gorgeous and it is unbelievable what they accomplished. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! They accomplished this including extra time and still were at, or slightly below, the competitors pricing with competitor making sure we knew they could not get rid of stains. Do yourself a favor if you want to hire a professional who does what they promise and speak to Gulf Coast Floor Maintenance!!!! I wish I could rate higher than just an A as they truly deserve Excellent to the 10th power.

When owner Mike Olver met with me  (he's no relation to me though our last names are similar)--he was very careful to set realistic expectations and not make promises that he couldn't deliver on.   Certain areas of my original terrazzo floors were badly stained and damaged from old carpet pads as well as tacking strips that had previously been nailed into the floors.    Mike and his crew did an amazing job of both removing the stains which has been there for years as well as making needed repairs in areas that had been damaged by carpet installers.    He and his crew were very professional and a pleasure to work with.   Again, the final result far exceeded my expectations.   I highly recommend Mike, his company and crew for their professionalism, high quality of work and fair pricing.

The restoration was done in two parts. The first part was where the carpet was remove. The second part was where ceramic tile had been installed over the top of the terrazzo. Both took the estimated time and blew us away with how nice they looked. My family had seen the sad condition of the floors in the house shortly after we moved in and then after the restoration. They were amazed! The floors have helped the house to cool around 10 degress F lower in the summer! And we are loving the REAL FLORIDA look! Mike and his team are super professionals!

Mike, the owner came out to the house,and went through all the rooms to be restored + closets, measured everything, and explained the process that he does. Everything went as planned and explained to us by the Owner, Mike of Gulf Coast Floor Maintenance.  They restored and restored the original terrazzo floors in one unit of our duplex.  Mike and his staff were prompt, courteous, neat and thoroughly explained their process prior to doing the work and as needed.  We had many pits in the floors from wear and tear that had to be filled and resurfaced and they were very successful in matching the new areas with the existing terrazzo.  The floors look fabulous and we plan have the floors in our other unit restored to their original beauty as well.  We will definitely call Mike from Gulf Coast Floor Maintenance back to get the job done. We thank them for a job well done.

The demo spots were done and he quoted me a very reasonable price for having to go over and undo what a previous business had "done" to my terrazzo. I was pleased with his time and effort and I believe he would have done an excellent job, I however decided to go with a different flooring option and not the terrazzo

Mike and his crew did a wonderful job on the terrazzo restoration.  They even returned to do an additional section of the floor when we removed another section of a wall!  There were a few areas too damaged to look like new, but they patched and polished and made them look very good!  Thank you to Mike and crew! We will call you for our next terrazzo project!

Michael and his crew were able to start the project when they stated and not only were they on time but early. The work they did was exceptional.  Our floors were in bad shape prior to they're work and they came out beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Mike came out the same day I called for an estimate.  It seemed like a fair price and the best thing of all he could do it right away.
It is a rental house and the new tenants wanted to move in the next week. His crew came when they said and worked long hours for several days to get it done.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  You can hardly see the cracks and it looks brand new.  If I ever get another house with terrazzo I will definitely call them.

I originally requested this company for a quote because of all the good reviews on Angie's List.  Mike worked me in early because I was on vacation and drove down here any half day or opportunity he had to get as much finished as quickly as possible.
It was about 872 sq ft including film from the padding, holes, cracks & carpet tack strips with steel nails.
They finished on Friday as promised but they found 2 cracks in living room after final buffing.  I could not even see them myself and when I asked Mike why he even said anything, he said "because I can see them!"
Mike & Jim drove back down from St Pete the next week and completed the project to "their" standard.
Mike also stuck with the original quote and I'm pretty sure he didn't make any money with as many days that they worked.
These guys are professionals, I can't say enough about them and would be glad to reference their quality of work, their professionalism, their cleanliness & timeliness any day.

Scheduled a visit for an estimate with Mike.  Like clockwork Mike was very prompt for the appointment.  Walking through the house, it became very clear that Mike was well informed and had experience in the restoration of terrazzo.  As we inspected the floors, Mike took the time to explain what he saw, what the possible methods of treatment would be and let me know of the potential issues and cost overruns on the project.  Bottom line, Mike "knew his stuff" and had no issues in explaining the work required to do the job right, in easy to understand terms.  Having received three bids, I selected Mike and his company for the 1200 sqft restoration project.  As it was with the estimate, the crew was punctual and started to work, straight away.  The crew was friendly, trustworthy and professional.  I was having other work done in the house by other contractors and they coordinated their work very well.  At the end of the day, the crew was clean and tidy by wrapping up their equipment and storing it in a specific storage area. It was estimated that it would take 4 to 5 days for the project but we did hit a couple of surprises which added some time to the project.  Mike continued to communicate the progress and all issues encountered on a regular basis. During this hectic time of house construction, it was good to have a contractor call me to give me an update on the progress of the job.  As previously mentioned, we did encounter some cost overruns due to previous remodeling, however, already knowing the problems and having Mike communicate these to me, the adds were no surprise and the cost of the adds were very reasonable.  
The floors are remarkable.  The care taken by Gulf Coast was evident in the final product.  The floors were polished to a high gloss. In every room, the floors appeared to be wet.  My neighbors were (and still are) complimenting me on the floors.  I am extremely satisfied with Mike, his company and crew.  Effective communications, professional knowledge of the trade and a trustworthy crew made this project an easy and trouble free project.  I highly recommend them for any terrazzo work. You will be very happy that you did.

I had put down a latex backed run down in the sunroom which "melted" into the terrazzo.  Mike had done the whole house when I bought back in 2005 and had done an amazing job.  He was able to restore the flooring and the shine in a few hours!  Terrific thorough job. No one better!

I would highly recommend Gulf Coast to anyone needing this service. I used them after seeing their work at two of my neighbors' houses.
