The technician was prompt and professional.  This was the second year I've had Burgess complete the maintenance on my 2 units.  I don't know anything about A/C units, so I have no idea how they perfomed.  The technician was nice and seemed to know what he was doing.  My A/C units have been working well, so I have to trust everything was performed correctly!

They arrived when promised, did what was promised. They fixed a couple of loose wires that could have caused a future problem. No extra charges and were very professional.

We recently bought a house and the upstairs AC unit stopped working.  I called Burgess for repair.  The part was no longer available so they gave me a price to replace entire unit.  I contacted other AC repair people and was told the same thing.  I got estimates from 3 companies and they were all within the same price range ($3K- $4K).  We have an older house and knew it would not be an easy installation.  I used Burgess because I felt they did what they could to keep the price in range with other bids and I had used them before for an installation in a previous house, and was pleased with their work.  This particular job ended up to not be a simple installation (an electrician was needed and the old unit was difficult to remove from the attic).  I unfortunately, did not write down the names of the guys that did the installation but they were excellent!  I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

They came at the agreed time and did there work completely and professionally. They installed our original AC from start to finish and it  has always worked exceptionally well.  Although we could have had someone else do the yearly service more cheaply on a special we trust there service completely. There price is about about average without a special.

I purchased a new Trane system from Burgess in August 2009 at a cost of $7,200.  In July 2011 the motor broke down, had to be replaced and was under warranty.  I also had annual maintenance done at that time at a cost to me of $90.  One month later in August 2011 the drain line clogged, and the drip pan sensor failed, causing my garage to flood.  Parts warranty was still in effect, but  labor warranty expired only 3 days before this incident.  Onsite, the tech advised that this was not covered under warranty and, because they were out a month prior doing the preventative maintenance, they offered to take 10% off an estimated cost of $299.  I found this completely unacceptable and immediately called Greg to discuss. Greg explained that the drain line parts are not included on the parts warranty and then offered to take 50% off the drain line part, and waive the rest.  I am happy with his response, and the unit has been repaired.

It was a horrible experience. The units were not installed properly and it took numerous visits (seven or eight, I lost track) from several different service technicians and installers to correct the problem. We had to eventually call in another company to correct their poor workmanship, which was an added expense for us in addition the the amount we paid Burgess. The installers and technicians were rude and unprofessional. The manager never called to follow up and apologize. I definitely will not recommend them.

Because of the defect in the unit, water leaked into our garage ceiling damaging our drywall. We were assured by the service manager that a drywall expert would repair our ceiling. The manager never followed up to make sure that the drywall was repaired. Additionally, we did indeed have to hire a second company because we found that after the Burgess replaced the defective part to the one unit, the condensation line exiting the unit from the house was blowing a substantial amount of cold air through the line to the outside of our house. We contacted a second company to evaluate the line and they determined the condensation line was not installed level by Burgess.

To the day of this report, Burgess never contacted us to fulfill their promise to repair the damaged drywall. In addition, the unit did NOT pass the original Hillsborough County inspection because the installers did not place the exterior drip pan underneath the horizontal unit in the garage.

"Well, quite the negative report on a company with many, many awards, 21 years in business and an A rating with Angie's list. Allow us to set the record straight. First off, if we did not care about our customers we would be out of business. We do the best installs as commented on by Hillsborough County inspectors. Our jobs are installed with experienced installers and backed by our company 100%. The job was inspected and passed all of the quality standards. Yes, the customer had some issues and we addressed each and every one of them. Ultimately, we found a manufacturer defect in one of the systems which caused us to have to return a few times until we found it. But, we did find it and never stopped in our quest to satisfy and complete the job for this customer. We did not hide, we did not run away and never strayed from our course of action to cure a problem for the member. Our management team spoke to the member's and apologized many times about the problems they had. We have top notch, drug tested and criminal background checked installers and technicians who constantly receive accolades about how nice and considerate they are. Our records show that the member was quite professional while the member is noted to being very rude and demeaning to our staff who was trying to solve any problems that they had. Ultimately it was us not another company that found the root cause and took action to achieve the desired results."

They cared about my A/C problem and offered less expensive solution (than other companies.)
Shelly was excellent on the phone.
The suggestion worked (after two visits--no fault of theirs) and solved the issue.

We called Burgess on the recommendation of a friend, as our 10 year old unit was leaking coolant and it was not practical to repair such an old unit.  We already had an estimate from another company that we'd used before and had been happy with, but their price for the new unit seemed high.   Burgess came out the day after we called and agreed that it wouldn't make sense to repair the old unit, as the cost to do so was almost $2000 and the unit was over 10 years old.   They provided an estimate for the new units which was about $800 less than the other company and a 15 Seer unit vs. 13 Seer.   We decided to go with Burgess.  We had to wait about a week for installation as the units had to be ordered, but they charged the old unit with freon which kept us cool for a few days.  They replaced the units and installed a nice programmable thermostat (also something the other company would not have included) on the scheduled date.  It's been about two weeks and we are cool and happy.  We really love the programmable thermostat that raises the temp while we are gone to work and lowers it at night for sleeping.  The county signed off on the permit this week and said it was a very nice installation.  All this and we can look forward to a lower electric bill and a tax credit next year!  We will definitely use Burgess for all our heat/AC needs in the future.

We have been using Burgess for over 10 years. We encountered customer service issue with the Tech on 5/24/11. About a week after the installation of the compressor (6/1/11), the system failed. Burgess responded immediately and repaired all items at their expense. After experiencing our first unpleasant experience with Burgess, the Manager, Greg Bark, stepped in took respomsibility and resolved all of our issues. We are appreciative of their response and professionalism.

Received estimates from a few "trusted" local AC companies from Angie's List. Chose Burgess due to comfort with salesman and their previous help with our older unit. New AC unit was ordered and installed right on schedule. A couple weeks later we had a some problems with the settings by the installers that Burgess sent someone out on a Sunday to take care of at no cost. Saved over $240 on our next full summer electric bill due to the higher efficiancy unit!

Fantastic. From sales to completion the people from Burgess were pleasant and professional. Rick Murphy accomodated a last minutes change in my installation date and the installers made a special push to get the unit it so I could apply for the Florida HVAC rebate quickly. The installers were friendly, professional and hard working. The guy who explained the work they had done and the new system saved everyone a lot of trouble by being thorough. When the County Inspector came in to close the work permit he said he though that an overflow float had been left out. I was lucky that the installer had explained the new overflow technology using pins in the drip pan. I passed that on to the County Inspector and he confirmed that everything was good and mentioned that he had 'tagged' a few people on inspections becasue he wasn't aware of the new approach, The Burgess installer saved me from a second inspection visit. The system is working perfectly and they did a great job installing it so that there were no leaks connecting to my old duct system so I passed my Fl rebate air loss test. 2 years ago I had Burgess on a service call becasue I wasn't happy with what another company was telling me. The Burgess tech came out, found a dead mouse had shorted out my old system and only charged me for a minor service call. I'll use Burgess again and recommedn them to everyone.

Can you imagine coming into your house and discovering it is 99 degrees and you live in Florida too! We were away on vacation and my sister was keeping an eye on our house. She comes over on 'Father's Day' and walks into a blast of hot air pushing her backwards. She said it was so, so hot you could make dinner on the countertop. Panicking now that it is Sunday, she called Burgess Heating and Air and to her relief they were on their way. She stated that James the technician was so helpful, found the problem and took care of it immediately. Professional, absolutely......On the following Thursday I called Burgess again in the morning hoping to have him check out another situation for me, replied he would be there in the next few hours, and showed right up on time.. Questions, concerns, more questions, more concerns and he took care of all of them. Also received estimates for future work. 'Gerald' with many many years of experience was up front and honest. Will be recommending to all, no doubt about it.

The 2 guys that came out were absolutely great. They arrived on time as expected, knew exactly what they were doing, and were very professional. Unfortunately for them, our AC died in the middle of July and the air handler was in the attic, which got up to 130 degrees+ in the afternoon (plus it's loaded with insulation). The temp in the attic was unbearable - but they kept at it until they completed the job - it was a very, very long day for them. I suggested a few times maybe they should come back in the morning when it was cooler but they were complete pros and finished the job the same day.

They were outstanding. The pricing was the best pricing. When they quoted you, they gave you model numbers. They came out when they said they would. The experience was first class. They did everything they said they were going to do and they even told me when the project would be completed. They even called a couple of days after the work was done to check to see how everything was going and if I had any questions, It was a very, very good experience. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We were very pleased with them. I paid a lot for the work that was done, but I feel that it was worth the price. They were here when they said they would be and were clean. They worked till 12 or 1 in the morning because it was a busy time during that time in the area.

Job was completed as described and I was very pleased with this company. They had the best estimate of the 3 companies I was considering and they were the closest to my home. Showed up on time, and the work looked very clean and professional. The sales rep that sold me the unit was not as pushy as other companies and seemed the most trustworthy.

Everything has gone well. They do the routine repair annually, and they have been very fair with their warranty. They had to completely replace one air handler, and worked with the manufacture to get a good price. I have been happy with them overall.
