The initial visit was to determine the plan for the fence install. However, it was not done as planned. I was not home when the project was completed, so upon my return, I found that the fence had been put in the middle of an exterior window and a large piece of equipment was left in the yard. The owner of the company stopped by that evening to pick it up and had his crew come back to fix the issue the next day.

I did a lot of research before choosing Ballfer Fence Co.. I checked the BBB review and spoke with several fencing companies before deciding to go with Ballfer. Below are the reasons I am very glad I went with this company. They had the best pricing. I had some companies come close but they were not brick and mortar businesses and I could not find any reviews. I was unable to meet in person with anyone on the team because work and personal issues made it very difficult (I had to get a fence up ASAP because my son had passed away and, in order to keep his dog, I needed a fence) but my salesman, Brian, walked me through each step and helped me get the information to my HOA to be approved quickly. They then got me on the schedule right away. Very importantly, I thought that I would have enough room to put a gate, for the lawnmower, on the right side of my house so that is what I requested. It ended up not giving my lawn man enough room to get his mower through because of a tree and some bushes. When I told Brian about the situation, Ballfer scheduled to come out the next day and fix the issue. I cannot speak highly enough of this company. In this day and age where you have to be very careful who you trust, it was so nice to work with a company that provides such high quality products along with superb customer service.

I had a fence installed by Ballfer Fence Co 2 years ago for $11,900. I have a large yard, 78' x 180', but the fence was just around my back yard. I didn't leave a review at the time of installation because there was a problem with poor communication from the guy they left in charge during the install and I wanted to give the company the benefit of the doubt. I don't like to leave bad reviews for small local businesses. I had been experiencing a problem with the the drive-in gates for several months, so I contacted the company several weeks ago by calling Jose, the owner of the company, on his cell phone. It turns out that his father is no longer the main person at Balfer Fence anymore. It's now his son, named Jose also. That's who answered the number I called. He told me to call the office during the week. That wasn't the attitude when I was contracting to get the fence installed. I called the office during the week, but Jose Jr and the other manager were not in. I left a message for Jose Jr, Ballfer Fence owner, with the woman who answered the phone and no one ever called me back. I waited several weeks. A couple of weeks ago I called again and spoke to Brian. I let him know both of my drive-in gates were leaning in with the top portion of the gates hitting each other, making it difficult to close the gates. I also let him know that, while Jose Sr, who was the owner at the time my fence was installed, said the hardware for the fence would be the same as the hardware on my neighbor's fence, I noticed the hardware is not the same on the drive-in gates. My neighbor's drive-in gate has three hinges per gate panel. Mine only have two hinges per gate panel. Brian came and looked at the problem. He tried to tell me the "earth moved" and that's why my gates are leaning in. And he says because I am over the one year warranty period they will charge me to repair their faulty installation. I pointed out that he is saying the "earth moved" on both my sets of drive-in gates which are one hundred feet apart, but that somehow my neighbors gates are still straight, the "earth hasn't moved" even though that fence is several years older than mine. He didn't have an answer to that. He insisted that I will have to pay. And the "fix" he wanted to charge me for was not to dig up the posts and reset the gates. He said he was going to shorten the panels a couple of inches! That's not a fix! By doing that the problem would return. At that point I asked him to have Jose Sr, the previous owner, call me since he was the one who had made the promises to me. He had told me Jose Sr was still with the company. I didn't hear from Jose Sr, so I contacted Brian again, but he ghosted me. No response to my texts or call until finally after my third attempt over a few days Jose Sr did call me. But it turns out he does not have enough integrity and was not willing to repair the faulty installation or even put in the hardware he had promised when bidding the job! When I put this fence in I got estimates from the three companies that had the highest ratings. I thought I had done my due diligence. I decided to go with J. Rivers Fence. I gave Jose Sr, from Ballfer Fence, a courtesy call to let him know i had decided to go with J. Rivers. He really seemed to want the job and lowered his price close to the J. Rivers bid, but it was still a little higher. Because he really seemed to want the job, his promises of quality and integrity, and his high rating, I decided to give Jose Sr and Ballfer Fence the job even though the price was still a little higher than the price from J. Rivers. Boy do I regret that now. How big a deal would it have been to make this repair? It would not be a big deal. But they weren't even going to repair it! They wanted to charge me $600 to put a band aid on it! I'll get it repaired properly by a fence company with better integrity. Beware.

"Your Project was Installed 2 years and 8 months ago. With a labor Warranty of 1 year. What you are requesting is out of line. Beacuse of the fear of a bad review we are not going to do as you please. You have top notch material with top notch installation. Having three hinges will not help in any scenario. We are aware of your concerns and many attempts to make us fear of this review. We did what was necessary to assist. We came out to the property to assist your concerns. We make sure to have open communication with you. After two years of having a beautiful fence installed, something happened to your gate that is not our fault. After 2 Years and 8 months of the gate working correctly how come we don’t have integrity. We find it unreasonable that after two year of enjoying your fence. We are blamed for something that is not our fault. Something happened to your gate such as (weather/it took a hit from something/improper use of the gates) it did not just get out of alignment. We do not work under threats, we take pride on our work and will keep assisting customers that treats us with the outmost respect just like we treat our customers. Thank you!"

So so... there was an area, 6 feet long, 1-2 feet higher then the rest and they just raised the fence in that section, so now one section of our fence is sticking out by more than a foot.
