We had a lot of rain and my service went out. I made a service call and they came out. He said that there was nothing wrong with my house. He said he was going to look across the street where the box is and he came back and told me there was water in the box. That was why I did not have service. He repaired it while he was out here. It did not cost me anything. It was outside. It was their problem. He came out when he was supposed to. He did what he was supposed to. He checked my house here and then he went over and fixed it. I even asked him to take his shoes off and he said he was going to get some disposable booties and put on his shoes which he did because I just had my carpet cleaned.
Description of Work: Comcast came out.

Still waiting for a channel guide after being repeatedly assured I would receive one.
Description of Work: Bad installation experience. Installation rep would not answer questions and left no information about channels or a guide. Repeated emails and calls to service center have been made with request for a,guide to be mailed or,at least emailed.

The service people who arrange the calls have only one thing they can do, That is to send someone out. If that tech can't fix the problem there is the on line chat with a Comcast rep. ANd all they do is send out a tech. So my problem remains for which I am paying close to $200 a month. Not for long.
Description of Work: I have the package for tv, internet and phone. The Phone works. the internet works most of the time. But the TV cable on the HD channels breaks up into tiles, frezzes and the sound goes out. I'v had 6 visits from the techs and they have agreed the problem is outside the house on the lines somewhere. A repair ticket has been sent in on 3 occasions. No improvement . We are still waiting.

Unfortunately, Comcast has little competition in Tallahassee in regards to fast internet service. If you need fast internet (i.e. >25Mbps) there is no alternative. Since there is no fiber optic service available to residential consumers in Leon County (i.e. Verizon FIOS etc) the only options are DSL (very slow) or Comcast. I called Comcast to downgrade my triple play package that had incrementally gone up in price over the past few years from $99 (without taxes) to $160. I explained that I wanted to get rid of my VOIP phone and increase my internet speed. I was eventually transferred to someone who seemed fairly helpful. She said that I could get faster internet and keep my TV for about $79 for six months and then it would go to $99. I said great and she gave me her extension and a confirmation number. I came away thinking that was one unusual interaction with Comcast given that she was actually helpful. I initiated transitioning my phone number to another cheaper service and called Comcast back. Unfortunately, I got the usual rude person who indicated that no such deal was in place and that I now had to pay more for the two services that I kept. Keep in mind that I am not under a long term contract. Beware of Comcast! They are in many places a monopoly and practice somewhat fraudulent practices with little worry of the result. I'm going to pull most of my TV and Phone from them and go with Satellite TV and cellular. I wish there was better competition in the county. I have a feeling they would be losing a lot more customers.

We called Comcast 5 times during this short period of time trying to get my computer going. Each phone call was approximately 45 minutes long. They had us doing all kinds of things to the computer but refused to send a service technician out and finally they said it would cost us $50.00 to send someone. I cancelled their service and thought that was the end of it. This was just the beginning of my problems with Comcast as I started receiving bills from them so I called and was told there would be no charge since I had the service less than 30 days. I received 3 bills total and called them every time, I was assured that it was taken care of and I owed nothing. I finally opened a ticket with them on 11/26 and was again assured it was taken care of. I then received a notice from a collection agency for Comcast , I called again and talked to a supervisor. I found out the ticket was opened on the wrong account and she wasn't aware I had the service for less than 30 days. She said she would take care of the account and zero it out. I received a call from the collection agency a few days later, I gave them all the information including the ticket number and supervisors name. They said they would contact Comcast and find out what was going on. Today 1/12/13 I received another notice from the collection agency. I tried calling them but it's Saturday and they're not in of course. I just want to resolve this nightmare and get Comcast to take care of my account. We switched to Knology and it has been a great service so far. Don't ever use Comcast. I didn't even go into the phone problems we had but this review is long enough.
Description of Work: My husband and I moved to Panama City Beach, Fl from Ohio in September 2012. We called Comcast for internet and phone service because we saw a lot of their ads. We had their so called service from 10/3/12 until 10/21/12, the technician that came out and hooked up the computers didn't even check my computer before he left. It didn't work the entire time we had the service but my husband's was ok.

This time it was great
Description of Work: Ok, here's the deal... I'm not a fan of Comcast, but today was a good day for them... I called Wednesday the 16th of May about an issue I was having with the TV side of things. They scheduled to tech call for Friday between 8 and 10am. The Tech showed up around 8 o'clock and started working on the problem. I supplied him details on what had happened in the past. He worked on it and then found that there was issues with the db levels coming to the house and also for the complete area. He did get me up and working and then reported the issue about the area to someone. Well, here's the WOW moment for Comcast, they had someone out here today to work on the larger issue. The guy fixed the low db level issue and then stopped by to make sure everything was still working. At that time he noticed that we had very old cable runs and schedule for a wire upgrade for us. WOW, this is the first time I really had great tech support / service from Comcast.

I had a low price, but it kept rising. I stopped using their cable service. I just didn't like the price. They're the only fast internet provider in the area. Their customer service is extremely poor.
