Well, it went great. Allan arrived on time and listened to my problem. He then carefully checked and tested my entire system including the inground pool cleaner. I need to say right now, there are very few people in our area that know anything about inground pool cleaners especially ones that are 20 years old. Just to find a company who is geographically close and can fix these things is wonderful. Allan is just the type of person you want to show up at your door. He arrived on time, listened to the problem, asked questions and then checked the entire system to see what was wrong.. He fixed the problem and explained how I should maintain the system in the future. I couldn't have been happier. The cost was very reasonable - Based on this experience, I believe Pilot Pool is an honest business - I'm sure some companies out there would have come in and told me I needed a new this or that but not this company. I will certainly call them with all future pool problems and equipment needs. And, by the way, I got a 10% discount because I was referred by Angie's list.
Description of Work: Checked the entire pool system to determine why my my pool pump was heating up and my inground pool cleaner was not working. The Pilot pool service man (Allan) quickly diagnosed the problem and corrected it.

I still have them; we have had some issues with them that we are trying to work out. They are regular about being out here. I live in two different places and I was having a problem with water evaporating and then not filling it up, they are filling it up now. When they get here, it does not take them long and the pool stays clear. They clean the pool. I would not use them again.

We have been doing the weekly maintenance at this member's pool for the past five months. I am sorry to hear member feels she wouldn't want to use our service in the future. While we did have an issue regarding the proper water level in this pool(as the skimmer is set in such a fashion that it is tilted backwards), we have since resolved this issue--the way we always try to resolve any issue a customer brings to our attention.

I have used Pilot for almost 15 years. While they are not the least expensive you can be assured they will show up every week. They let you know if there is a problem with your equipment and then they call you and let you know the cost and order the part and then repair. I do wish there was more attention paid to the cleaning of the tiles when they say they brush the steps and sides, but they do add chemicals and check the pool weekly.

We were pleased with [removed members name] acknowledgement of our dependability and our attention to proper chemical balance and equipment operation. We were,however,sorry to hear [removed members name] hasn't been happy with our brushing/cleaning of her pool tiles. We immediately sent a service person to her pool to do a thorough cleaning of the tiles and made a commitment to brush them properly on a weekly basis.We followed up with [removed members name] and found her to be quite satisfied with our attention to this matter.

Fantastic service from every aspect. They scheduled an appointment for the day after i called and they showed up when they said they were going to. The technician was great and fixed the mistakes i made trying to install it myself the day before. The cost was also very reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

Allen checked pump pressure and found a leaky valve, he repared the valve and cleaned the filter. Another gentleman vacuumed the pool and balenced the chemicals and shocked the pool. Pool looks great and plenty of water movement

It didn't go at all, overall, as it was impossible to even get a quote.
Description of Work: I called this company to try and get an appointment for a quote for pool cleanup and monthly maintenance. Even though I get out of work earlier than most people and am home by 4:30pm, I was told that they could they guarantee that a technician would be available at that time as they are usually finished and gone home themselves by then. When I asked about a weekend appoint, I was told that they do not work weekends and that while they would be happy to do a quote without my being home, it would only be on the condition that my dogs were locked up. While I can understand all of that, I must point out that for a standard, working individual or family, those conditions make it nearly impossible to even get a quote. It isn't feasible for me to take time off work to meet with a technician to get a quote nor is it feasible for me to lock my dogs inside all day in order for a tech to be willing to come to my house not only for the initial quote, but also for the weekly service. I appreciate their honesty and the professionalism of the person who handled my call, however, I would suggest that for a normal, working individual or family who aren't able to get out of work early in the afternoon or who have pets/dogs, this doesn't seem to be the best company for pool maintenance. This company seems much better suited to families with stay at home parents or retirees or families who do not have pets.

During that time we have had the same service technician and he has been outstanding. The pool is always clean and sparkling, ready for use. He has notified us when the in-pool cleaner needed repairs and suggested options for that repair. We have never had any problems with their service.

THE ROUTINE WAS OK. THE REPAIRS WERE A GRADE 'F'. INSTALLED A NEW SPA BLOWER. THE TOP BLEW OFF. THE REASON THE TOP BLEW OFF, IS THAT THE TOP WAS NOT ATTACHED BY SCREWS OR ANYTHING ELSE, FOR THAT MATTER, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN. INSTALLED A NEW CHLORINATOR, THE PVC PIPE WHICH WAS INSTALLED LEAKED CAUSING A GREAT DEAL OF WATER TO BE LOST FROM THE POOL. THE POOL PUMP PVC BEGAN TO LEAK AFTER THE PVC REPAIR TO THE CHLORINATOR BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO REPAIRED THE PVC PIPE ON THE CHLORINATOR TURNED THE POOL PUMP BACK ON WITHOUT CHECKING THE WATER LEVEL. HENCE A LEAK IN THE PUMP. COMPANY BILLED US FOR SERVICE CHARGES WHICH ARE THE RESULT OF FAULTY WORKMANSHIP ON THE PART OF THEIR STAFF. WE ARE TERMINATING OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS COMPANY. WE DO WANT TO ADD A SPECIAL NOTE OF APPRECIATION FOR THEIR POOL MAINTENANCE CREW, ESPECIALLY JEFF, WHO IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL PERSON.

IN RESPONSE TO CLAIMS OF POOR REPAIR WORKMANSHIP ON OUR PART: RE: BLOWER INSTALLATION- AS PER STANDARD MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION GUIDELINES, A BLOWER IS PLACED DIRECTLY ONTO THE PVC PIPE. GLUE IS NOT TO BE USED, AS GLUE FUMES CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION WHEN THE BLOWER IS STARTED. A SCREW CAN BE USED OPTIONALLY, BUT IS NOT REQUIRED.IN THE 15 YEARS PILOT POOL SERVICE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS WE HAVE ALWAYS FOLLOWED THESE GUIDELINES AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. RE: CHLORINATOR INSTALLATION- WHEN WE RETURNED 3 WKS AFTER THIS INSTALL FOR A PVC LEAK, WE REPAIRED THE LEAK IN QUESTION AND BILLED OUR STANDARD RATE, BECAUSE THIS LEAK WAS AT PVC IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT AREA AND NOT AT PVC THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY CUT TO REPLACE THE CHLORINATOR. RE: PUMP LEAK JUST A FEW DAYS LATER-THE PUMP WAS NOT TURNED ON BY OUR TECHNICIAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER OUR PVC REPAIR BUT CAME ON WITH THE TIMER. THE TECHNICIAN REMEMBERS THE WATER BEING AT AN APPROPRIATE LEVEL AT THE TIME THE PVC REPAIR WAS MADE. MORE THAN LIKELY THE PVC AT THE PUMP FAILED AS A RESULT OF THE PRIOR OVERHEATING INSTANCES (THE PVC LEAK THAT HAD JUST OCCURRED)-THUS CAUSING THE WATER TO RECEDE IN THE POOL. BECAUSE THIS COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED, WE DID THE PUMP REPAIR AT NO CHARGE TO THE MEMBER. THE ABOVE WAS EXPLAINED TO THE MEMBER, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY STILL SEVERED TIES WITH OUR COMPANY. THIS WAS REGRETTABLE, AS WE HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO SATISFY CUSTOMER NEEDS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY, AND WISH THIS INCIDENT DID NOT END WITH AN UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.
