"Contractors be ware of doing business with Mr. [Member Name Removed] he attempted to have me sign a release of lien and hold a check for a week I strongly believe that he was not going to pay our company for our services please read the following: To Whom This May Concern, I am writing this in response to a BBB complaint from Mr. [Member Name Removed] a HVAC 4-ton residential replacement of existing equipment located at [Member Information Removed] JACKSONVILLE, FL [Member Information Removed]. Mr. [Member Name Removed]’s complaint stated that I did not leave consumer literature at the residence and that I did not complete the job. I did leave consumer literature for the new system and thermostat at the mentioned location. However please see attachments of examples of what was left at the listed residence and please forward to Mr. [Member Name Removed] if that would satisfy his complaint. I would like to give some background information on how this civil agreement transpired. Upon arrival at Mr. [Member Name Removed]’s house, he had the entire proposal printed out and he was reviewing it as I greeted him when I arrived. He started a conversation of how a roofing contractor placed a lien against his property in the past. He then asked me to provide him with a release of lien and asked me to hold a check for approximately a week until his money was transferred from an investment account. I did not feel comfortable with signing a release of lien, due to not even starting or completing the job mentioned. I then asked him at least 2 times if he wanted me to do the job, he verbally agreed to, and he stated yes. Hindsight I am glad I took payment before leaving his house. I would also like to reveal that I gave Mr. [Member Name Removed] $500 dollars off the price for being a veteran and I agreed to split half of the 3% processing fee, costing my company $800 dollars. I am not sure why he says the job is not completed. Please see attached permit and certificate of completion and all the consumer literature documents that he was supplied with during this job. I also registered his unit with ICP for the 10-year warranty."
