Everything went great. It was much easier to schedule an appointment with them than other places that were in the area. Prompt arrival, friendly service, quick diagnosis, and the washing machine has worked perfectly since the repair. I don't have much experience with getting a pump replaced, but the price seemed reasonable.

Technician was available shortly after I called. He was courteous and professional. He felt that there was some probability that my unit would begin to function in the next 24 hrs. If not, he did not advise repair because of expense. He gave me very useful information about a new purchase if required. I was very pleased with the service call.

Everything went great. We actually bought an extended warranty on the refrigerator since so many large appliances seem to fail these days, however the warranty had just ended in August and the refrigerator quit working in October! The repair person, Scott was on time and even called us prior to heading out to the house to give us a heads up that he was on his way. The heating element was bad on the frig and Scott took the time to show my husband and myself the faulty part and explained how it worked. He had to order a part, which took two days, but we this was a second refrigerator we have in the garage so it wasn't a big deal for us. He returned on time, again calling prior to showing up. The LG microwave is about 5 years old and the spinning tray quit early on after we bought it, however we rarely use the microwave and assumed it would be expensive to fix the tray so we have just dealt with it for years. Scott checked the model and took a picture of the microwave and sent it to the Gunn office where they were able to order a part to fix the problem. When the guy came back out to fix the refrigerator, he also repaired the microwave and didn't even charge us, as it was an easy fix. Now the microwave moves back and forth and spins as it was intended to. I had never heard of this company and hired them because of Angie's List, specifically looking for a company that would also look at the microwave, as some other appliance companies recommended mentioned did not service microwaves. It turned out to be very little inconvenience for us and definitely worth the money. Oh, and the service person also gave us a year warranty on his work! He wrote it on the service bill.

When I called, Scott said I lived beyond his geographical repair area, so I would need to call someone else. He asked how I got his number, and when I said Angie's List, he said he would spend the extra 20 minutes to get to me. He asked me to take a picture of the model #, so he could bring up the most often needed parts. I told him that I was disabled, so it may be difficult. He said the minimum deductible service fee was $65.00, which I agreed to, especially since I was once an electrician, and did the same. Since he had an A rating, and I read several positive reviews, I agreed. I explained that my wife is my caregiver, and has enough trouble doing everything for me, (I'm 63, but have MS), so I need it repaired asap, to make her life easier. He said, no problem, he would make me his next stop. One hour later, he called on his way. 55 minutes later, He comes up to my apartment, and comes in with 4 boxes. I asked what the boxes were, and he said the most common parts for my Dishwasher. He had a computer board, a display w/ buttons, etc. I said to myself, Uh Oh...a disabled, older, snowbird...I'm in trouble...This is going to cost.! I told him the usual story. What everyone says. It worked fine last year when we were here. My kids were here in between, but they didn't say there was any problem. I told him I checked the circuit breaker, and it was fine. He opened the dishwasher door, pushed the button...nothing. He opened the doors under the sink, and started fumbling around. He found a plug, and put it into the wall receptacle. I said, Scott, I'm going to wait in the living room, and turned and started wheeling out. He stood up, went back to the dishwasher, and called me. He said it was fixed. Listen..water's running. I couldn't believe it. We and my kids turn the water off, and pull the plugs out when we close the apartment. My wife plugged everything "she saw" into the wall. This plug fell between the wall and the counter. In New York, there is no plug. It is hard-wired directly with a cable. I cannot tell you anything about Scott's technical competence, because we never got that far. But if it is half that of his honesty, you're in good hands. I will most certainly call him back in the future. He could have easily told me a circuit board plus labor, came to $200-300 bill. Who knows? If there was an A+ on Angie s list, I would give him an A++. This is my 3rd year as a member, and my first post.

The technician that came out for the estimate quickly identified the problems with both my dishwasher and refrigerator. The parts were ordered, they came in quickly and the technician was back out to my home to repair both appliances in short order. What I do really like about Gunns is that the person that comes out to estimate/diagnose the problems is also the same person that repairs the items and that his estimate is really quite accurate because he need not "go back to the office" to get part replacement prices. It's all done at your home. I am very, very happy and would use them again.

Washer: Scott immediately knew the problem from professional training. This model, a kennmore, when installed the tech must remove shipping stops. Otherwise the balance mechanism would not work on spins especially with a heavy load. He knew what to do. Even a good mechanic might miss this without the training. Remember when an auto tune-up meant spark plugs and points? Even appliances require a rocket scientist or a tech trained by one. Frig: Bottom line not yet seen but another situation of "training" and knowledge of the appliance. After explaining the principles of this frig, he said it was necessary to :eat down the contents or borrow frig/freezer space and leave doors open and unit unplugged to completely defrost the space between the 2 compartments. This will allow the air between the frig and freezer compartments to flow freely. We arte slow eaters so we havent tested this yet. In both cases, simple fixes if you know the appliance. I down graded the price because EVERYTHING is so expensive.

A tenant called Friday afternoon to say that the fridge was working. My initial thought was just to replace it as my previous experience with appliance repairs hasn't been good and I wasn't sure of the condition of the fridge. Long story short I decided to take a chance to leave Gunn Appliance (and 3 others) a message that Friday evening. (I was expecting to have to play phone tag). I'm glad I decided to take a chance. Before I had even finish leaving a message with the rest, Gunn Appliance had replied asking to call. I told them I wanted a fridge cooling problem diagnosed and repaired if possible and that it was a tenant. I was very surprised and pleased that they offered to deal with contacting the tenant and arranging the appointment. Usually it was something I had to manage. (This was friday at 4pm and they even offered to come in that evening.). The apointment was for Saturday from 11-1pm. Since I was in the process of moving and waiting for the movers to arrive during the same period there was a chance I wouldn't make it (turned out to be a no-show). Scott called around 11am to say he was arriving within 15 minutes, the fridge was repaired within an hour. I was given the option to pay via credit card over the phone but I decided I had to meet them. Drove to the place and paid with a check. Gunn is one of the most customer oriented providers I've had the good fortune to find on Angies list. Operationally they seem to have their processes in order too (I can only think of 1 other experience in the last 20 years that is comparable). They are definitely someone I would call if you are out of town and need some appliance repaired.

In the late evening I realized my refrigerator/freezer was not running. I contacted Gunn Appliance Services immediately as their Angie's List post specified emergency service and they had so many positive reviews. I spoke with Tom who was very informative and accommodating. After explaining the additional fee for emergency service, I decided to wait until morning. I called back in the morning and they were able to have Scott their by noon. He was friendly and incredible helpful. He completed the job in less than 40 minutes and provided me with information on maintenance. He was also very helpful in working with a company that provides me with appliance insurance coverage. I was completely satisfied with the service and company. I would definitely recommend them and work with them again.

Scott replaced the heating element on the freezer and was very efficient about it. The entire job only took 45 minutes, the bulk of that time being 20 mins or so to melt the ice that had built up in the back of the freezer. The heating element that he took out was only one heating element, and replaced it with an OEM part which actually came with 2 heating elements which is great. Overall he was very professional, open and honest about the service. He mentioned these units usually have a 15-17 year life span, mine was about 14 years, which explains why the heating element was burnt out. Would surely recommend to anyone who has issues, price a little on the higher side but you know you are getting high quality work.

Scott was very professional. He called to confirm the appointment, knows how to communicate to the client, made me feel comfortable, and gave me a great price on fixing my washer/dryer!!!! Do NOT contact anyone on craigslist as I tried to save money and was scammed. I came to Angie's list and found Gunn. OMG......what a difference to hire pros that are very honest, fair, and price friendly. Go with Gunn!!! I was not paid for this! LOL. Scott and Debbie were awesome! This is how business should be conducted and I highly recommend anyone to hire them for their appliances!!

Scott was prompt, called in advance of arrival, and was able to diagnose the issue and repair it quickly without a second trip. Stayed to ensure that the machine rinse, spun and drained.

Washer wouldn't spin - Gunn Appliance provided a quick and accurate diagnosis - timely acauisition and installation of part.

Great job! Our dryer was not drying. I called Gunn based on previous reviews. Diagnosis was quick and the part arrived within a couple of days. Follow up and installation of the element was a simple process. Gunn also took the time to answer all my questions, level our dishwasher, and vacuum all the lint from within the innards of the dryer. Event we dealt with was courteous and professional, and arrived when stated. They only use OEM parts, which is what we like to use. We will be using them whenever needed.

I appreciate the honesty of the diagnosis. I immediately went out and purchased a new washer...plus a new dryer while I was at it.

I called Gunn Appliance around 10 am to ask about replacing the lid on my Whirlpool Cabrio washer that had buckled and broken at the hinges where it was attached to the washer. I was told that they tried to take care of all their appointments on the same day, and he would call me back with a time. I was later told the tech would be at my house between 1p-3p...the tech showed up around 3:25 pm. No big deal he said something about the previous job being more complicated than expected. He was professional and personable. He took a look at the problem and said that although Gunn performs work for Whirlpool extended warranty issues on a regular basis, he had never encountered my problem before. He then said that he couldn't give me a price right at the moment because if he called the office for a price, the girl at the office wouldn't know exactly what he needed, so he had to look it up himself. He said he had never replaced a lid on that washer before and he would figure it out when he came back to do the job. He mentioned that he had one more call and then would call me in about 2 hrs....HE NEVER CALLED BACK AT ALL! I guess the upside is that they did not have the audacity to try and collect the $45 estimate fee. I ended up getting a quote over the phone with another company I found on here and they wanted $229 for the washer lid and $145 to install. I researched a little more on the net and found the part for $164 and a post on an "ask an expert" site and it was 2 minutes to remove the previous lid (4 screws) and I am waiting for the new one, which I will replace myself. I'm sure that Gunn has performed many jobs to their clients' satisfaction and that they are a well established company...I guess I am just one that "fell through the cracks". I just felt it was only fair that if I found them on Angieslist, that I should post an honest review as an FYI...

The service tech was timely, professional, informative, and helpful. He honored the Angielist discount/coupon and had the part on his truck to do the job. He was finished and left my home clean as it was before the problem. I was pleased with the service. He took credit card for the payment.

Contacted GUNN APPLIANCE due to my dryer not drying. GUNN APPLIANCE had fast service. He was prompt and did not try to sell any unneeded services or parts. You cannot beat his service call fee. He came back out a few days later as another part broke and he did not charge any service fee because he was just out there. He truly seemed to care that I had no dryer and he going to do his best to fix it quickly. Both times I have used their service they have had all required parts on the truck, not the usual (we have to order that part and come back in a few days) HIGHLY RECOMMEND. they will have all my appliance business from now on.

We just bought our house and found the icemaker wasn't working and there was a leak under the refrigerator. I Gunn and the serviceman arrived within the 2 hour time frame they told me. He took look at the freezer and told me that the drain was clogged. He used a steamer to remove the ice rather than have me turn it off and wait 24 hours for the ice to melt. He cleaned the drain and then found that the leak was coming from the icemaker. He took the icemaker out to take a look at the line and we both saw the corrosion that was present. I told him that we should replace the ice maker. He had one on the truck and replaced it then and there.

First, Tom mentioned to me that Gunn Appliance and Service have a new phone company which, BY NO FAULT OF GUNN APPLIANCE, CAUSES THEIR PHONE TO RING (SOMETIMES) LONGER THAN THEY WOULD PREFER before they are connected to your call. WAIT FOR THEM TO ANSWER. IT IS WORTH IT. They apologized about it to me as I am sure it is causing them aggravation as well as inconvenience for everyone involved. They are rushing to fix the problem. They probably need to check with Angie's List for a new phone company. :-) They assessed and gave me the information necessary to make an informed decision as to whether to repair or replace the unit. This was very important and they could have easily taken the route that maximized their profits and cost me more money. Instead they were fair and efficient. Honesty is a rare commodity especially in the appliance repair business and for that alone I would highly recommend them. However, they also did good work. I purposefully did not list cost of service because other additional services were provided and final cost has not yet been determined.

Called at 4:30, paid for the repair at 5:15, all good, nuff said.

We called for service on commercial washers and dryers and a rental property and when asked how much they charge, we were told "as much as I can get". This person was very rude and unprofessional.

Wow wow and wow! First I was afraid I was petrified, but Angie was right there by my side.....it was my first Angie call and it totally exceeded all my expectations. From that first phone call, the service was insanely good. Scott was there within several hours right when he said he would be. I thought for sure my dryer was hopeless. After the initial exam, Scott gave me his estimate and successfully brought my dryer back to life! Yay! No more wet socks and my dryer is as good as new. A super experience from start to finish and I think I have found my new repair company. >^..^<

Went fine everything worked, repairman in truck ready to leave as I was trying water dispenser it didn't work. Quickly retrieved repairman who in no time found the problem and rectified it. While there instructed me on how to replace water filter. Was very please with service!
