Scott was very friendly and explained what he did. He thoroughly checked everything related to the ice maker and defrosting mechanism of the refrigerator. There was rust and corrosion and he was unable to repair the problem. We paid for the service call only. Scott was so friendly and informative that it almost made having to buy a new refrigerator not so bad. He measured our current refrigerator and gave us information on size, etc., going the extra mile. I would recommend Gunn appliance Service to my friends in a heartbeat. I definitely would call them again if needed.

Very pleased with Gunn Appliance. They came out the same day and fixed the water flow in the washer. The Tect went over the options to fix the 15 year old appliance with lowest cost for repair first then more expensive options. The first option worked. I would highly recomend Gunn Appliance and would not hesitate to use them in the future.

I would highly recommend Gunn Appliance Service. I called Wednesday morning to look at my garbage disposal, and they were able to replace it that afternoon. They also provided advice on other appliances while they were there, and they were able to point me in the right direction on other issues that needed to be fixed. Gunn's appliance is prompt, professional, knowledgable, and friendly, and I would absolutely use them again in the future.

everything went very well
Description of Work: we have a Frigidaire refrigerator and the ice maker and water dispenser wasn't working. first they came out to see what was the problem. they charge a 50 dollar service charge. so they ordered the parts to fix the problem. the unit needed a new solenoid at the back of the unit. since they ordered the part and installed the part they credited the service charge of 50.dollars. the problem took approx. took 45 minutes and now everything works great. thanks Scott and Tom for taking care of our refrigerator issue.

My washer stopped spinning altogether. I called Gunn in the morning and they sent Scott over by 4 pm. He very quickly noticed it was the pump, he had the spare part with him and offered to change it right there and then. I could not be happier. He managed everything quickly and had my machine up and going in no time! I can tell he knows what he is doing.

The door to my Samsung washer would not close because a part had warn out and broken, and therefore the washer wouldn't run. Scott came by when he said he would, took a look, ordered the part, and came back three days later to install it. It turned out to be a larger and more complex part (internal) than I expected, but Scott was able to install it quickly. Very personable as well. Note: I had called a couple other appliance repair services, but they wouldn't touch Samsung.

I called in the early afternoon regarding my washer that wasn't working properly. After explaining the problem to the gentleman on the phone, he had told me they were a little busy this afternoon, that it may have to wait until the morning so I said that it was fine, I could wait. I was placed on hold for a moment and then was told that someone had just finished a job and could be at my house shortly. Scott arrived within 20 minutes! Scott assessed the situation and confirmed what the problem was. The parts needed were on the truck and the job was completed within 30 minutes!!!! Scott was very professional and courteous! He even gave me some much needed advice for my future washer purchase among some other information that I had asked him about. I will most definitely call Gunn Appliance Svc again. The price was well worth the swift service call, swift repair, courtesy and professionalism. Thank you again to Scott & the gentleman who answered the phone when I called in!

I called Gunn Applicance Service in the morning. I was thrilled a technician could come out to look at my washer the very same day. I was told Scott would be at my house between 3 and 5. I explained I need to pick up my children from school during that time. I was told they are very 'kid pick up' friendly and will call a half hour before arrival. Scott DID call a half hour before arrival and was knocking at my door exactly on time. After LISTENING to me explain the troubles I've been having with my washer, Scott examined 'the patient' and determined the machine was having pump issues. He continued to trouble shoot and discovered he could fix the problem by simply unclogging the drain hose. He ran a few test cycles on the machine to make sure it functioned correctly and determined a pump replacement was unnecessary at this time. He did mention, however, if I found, after use, I still had draining issues, I should should call Gunn so they could order the part and the service fee would be applied to the repair. I was quoted a price of $245 for pump replacement, which I consider a fair price. I've done several loads of laundry since Scott's visit and it's working better than ever. It's very unusual in South Florida to have a technician show up, show up on time, be knowledgable, be professional and honest and most importantly LISTEN to what the customer has to say. I was very impressed with Scott's professionalism. I plan to use them in the future when the need arises again.
Description of Work: Samsung washing machine was not draining or spinning. Technician investigated and unclogged paper towel and other debris from drain and pump.

Provider called and informed me of reason why he was running behind (traffic at 5:30 PM, expected) and that he would be several minutes late. Very professional, conscientious, and personable. I have no clue whether the price I paid for was market price but from a value perspective I received excellent value. I would use again and I would reccommend.

21Scott from Gunn Appliance was very prompt and knowledgeable. He had to return the next day with my correct part and he did. He was also very sweet, I asked him to please pull the refrigerator out so I could clean behind it before he came back the next day. It was a little dusty back there because the coils and valve were the older kind that leaked if you moved them. So..... he fixed that too and said now you can move and clean behind the refrigerator every day HA-HA. I was very pleased and will call them again for any appliance repair.

First off, we were so grateful that they had Saturday hours (10a-5pm). It's also nice that the "service call" charge ($40) is waived if you have them complete the repair for your appliance. In my opinion, it was still a very expensive repair, but I can't compare his costs to anyone else's, so I assume the fee was fair and standard. I'm just glad we didn't have to replace our washer! Scott was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us an informed evaluation of our machine and fixed it quickly (already had the part in his truck). We will definitely call Gunn Appliance again for any large appliance repairs.

Besides being a bit pricey, our experience was great. Scott called first, and arrived exactly when he said he would. Additionally, he was courteous, funny, knowledgable, and super efficient. He repaired our refrigerator and he told us to call within 36 hours if we had any issues. We would call them again.

Gunn Appliance Services had installed an ice maker in a condo that I own and rent out. I had turned it off as the unit was vacant for four months. When the new tenant moved in the ice maker did not work. I called Scott and he came the same day and was able to fix the problem within 45 minutes. I have a happy tenant and there was no charge! Even though the warranty had run out (90 days), Scott realized that since the ice maker had not yet been used it must be another problem. He discovered that a valve was faulty and replaced it. I must say that we have used Gunn Appliance Services repeatedly as we have 3 rental units in addition to our primary home all in Broward County, FL. He is always prompt and very professional. He has never been stymied by any problem we have thrown at him. Once we were on vacation in Aruba and a tenant called me to say the clothes washer failed. We were able to coordinate the repair over the phone with Scott and still enjoy our vacation. I would recommend Gunn Appliance Services (especially Scott) to anyone who needs an appliance repair. We feel lucky to have him available here in Broward County.

WE had our icemaker replaced by Gunn Appliance serviceman 'Scott" in June 2013. ($282.50) I should have gone with my gut as the impression I got was a salesman who made up story after story about what we needed. As he was there and we were pressed for time, we had him replace the icemaker. It never worked 'right' although it worked. It took a week to fill the well, but we just lived with it because we had no time to have a serviceman out again. In November 2013 the icemaker was leaking all over the freezer, so we had no choice but to call again. As the nasty woman in the office informed us, we were given a 'window' of 10-2 during which Scott would "call" to make the appointment to come out. We figured he would call and make an appt for later that day, so when he called at 1030AM and said he was in his way, we told him we were out and expected him to give us a time later in the day. We asked that he please come after 2 as we would be home by then. Scott lost it! He started yelling and screaming at me and told me we wasted his day. Rather than having to use a different company, we agreed to have him come one night during the coming week. I was sure to have my husband home with me as Scott seems to have a short fuse and I felt threatened. He came later that week and replaced the icemaker with another and did not charge us. He was sure to let us know what a HUGE favor he was doing by not charging us to replace an appliance he just replaced a few months earlier, but we just let him rant to get him out. The next day, the icemaker STILL DID NOT WORK, so we had to call AGAIN. He came out a few days later and told us now we needed an optic eye and it was never the icemaker in the first place. He charged us another $241.75 for the optic eye. The icemaker worked for 3 days. It is once again leaking all over our refrigerator. I called the office number expecting to leave a message and a woman answered. I told her the story and she asked me to call back in the morning. I asked if she could please pass along the message as I work a long day and cannot get to a phone and she could just leave the message for the office staff, and her response was 'oh yeah, you want me to take time away from my children when you can just as easily call back" ??!!?? WHAT??? If she isn't the answering service, then why answer the office number in the evening??? Ghastly ghastly service!!! I then called the number I had for Scott the serviceman, who always worked in the evening. He answered and I asked him to please come out and fix the icemaker or refund our second payment. Scott started SCREAMING and I mean SCREAMING at me. He went on for at least 3 minutes, and then hung up. He then called back and started screaming at my husband and hung up again. We are challenging the charge, notifying every person we know that Gunn Appliance is an unprofessional company and should be avoided AT ALL COST! REBUTTAL TO COMPANY RESPONSE: This letter is in response to the fictitious comments made by Debbie Feero of Gunn Appliance. I do not know who Debbie Feero is and I can assure you that I never spoke with her and she was never in my house. I would like to state the true facts, something Ms. Feero?s letter is completely lacking. What Ms. Feero doesn?t know, is that after being hung up on by the owner, we contacted Kelly Appliance. They responded and within 2 minutes (not an exaggeration) discovered the problem. The experienced service technician from Gunn Appliance Services (Scott) had not installed the icemaker correctly. It was a simple adjustment. Since Kelly came out the icemaker works fine. Please understand, Gunn appliance services were out three times and obviously had no idea how to install the icemaker. The reason that Gunn has in fact filed this is due to the fact that our Credit Card Company reversed the charge due to their inability to provide service. We originally had Gunn install a new icemaker at their suggestion and we paid $250.00. It worked for a very short time and we began to have the same issues. We called Gunn back and to be fair he did install a new one in November 2013. Although he did not charge us for the new icemaker, I believe he charged us for either a service call or labor costs. Once again, the icemaker did not work and so we called him out for a third time. After admitting to us that it couldn?t be the icemaker because the one he removed from our freezer was sold to another client as ?new? and it worked fine, he decided that it must be the fiber optics. He then sold us a pair of fiber optics for $241.31. It later became obvious that we never needed fiber optics because it was not the product but the installation as performed by Gunn?s factory trained technicians that caused the problem. We contacted the credit card company because we should not have been sold the fiber optics. The above are the actual facts. Ms. Feero?s version contains as much fact as a Disney cartoon. The night that we called was simply to leave a message for the next day to arrange a service call. A woman answered the phone and started screaming at my wife, that she disturbed her family time. I?m not sure as to why a company would have an after hour?s phone number and complain that we called. My wife finally hung up after being yelled at. Within a matter of minutes, Scott called back and began to scream at me. I hung up on him and that was the last time I had any contact with Gunn Appliance. At no time did we receive any phone calls from the Broward Sheriff?s Office or any other law enforcement department. As I previously indicated, we made one phone call that evening and never called them again. I challenge Ms Feero to produce any police reports. It is a complete fabrication. That evening we checked Angie?s list and noticed several complaints concerning Gunn appliance and the way they treat customers. Based upon our experience, I am not surprised.

On June 1, 2013 we arrived at the home of [member name removed], she was having a problem with her ice maker. The technician found the problem to be with the fiber optic of the ice maker. The customer knowing better than our factory trained technician told him that what he was tell her was not right. If [member name removed] did not feel right about what the technician was telling her, [member name removed] had several options. [member name removed] could have paid the technician the $44.95 service fee for coming out and we would have left. [member name removed] could have taken the time done some search and then could have either called us back at which time we would have used the $44.95 towards the cost of the repair or [member name removed] could have call someone else. But [member name removed] demanded that the technician put an ice maker in so the technician replaced the ice maker. We did not hear back from the [member name removed] until December 2013 (6 month later). Saying that the ice maker was not working. Our dispatch office set up an appointment for the technician to return (no call) [member name removed] on December 3, 2013. The technician again told [member name removed] that the problem was not with the ice maker and it was the fiber optics but she again insisted that it was the ice maker, so even after the warranty on the ice maker was expired we replaced the ice maker at no charge. A week later [member name removed] called back and again said the ice maker was not working. We again set another appointment and [member name removed] finally agreed to change the fiber optic. We than got a call on Sunday Night December 15th at around 9 pm. [member name removed] told our dispatcher that the refrigerator was leaking water on her floor. Our dispatcher asked if the water was flooding the floor. [member name removed] said “No” that there was a small amount and she had wiped it up. [member name removed] that she knew it was the ice maker. Our dispatcher asked [member name removed] if there was ice in the ice maker and she said “Yes”. Our dispatcher tried to explained to her that if it was from the ice maker it would be in the freezer and no ice in the ice maker. [member name removed] insisted that I was on the floor and it was from the ice maker. The dispatcher did asked [member name removed] if she could please call back into the office in the morning because on Sunday they only dispatched technicians out for emergence service but more so because she was trying to leave a restaurant with her 3 and 5 years old and hand her hands full. [member name removed] then started screaming and demanded that our dispatch take her information right that moment and it was her job to make sure she had our technician be at her home first thing in the morning. The dispatcher told her she would need to a few minutes so she could get to her car and asked her to stop screaming. [member name removed] just kept screaming so our dispatcher told [member name removed] that she was hanging up because of the her screaming and hung up. [member name removed] then turned her anger on Scott our technician at about 9:30 pm on his cell phone. [member name removed] was screaming at him to come out to her home right then and there. Scott explained to her that he was not on call for emergencies but that she would be charged for emergence service to have someone come out tonight and that the problem she was having was not an emergence and could wait till morning. She then hung up and called back over and over again just screaming. Scott’s wife ended up calling the Broward Sheriff Office and asked them to please intervene. The Sheriff’s Office has to call [member name removed] 3 times during the course of the night to tell her to stop calling bout our office number and the technician’s cell phone. The Sheriff’s Office told us that they informer [member name removed] that if she called us again there would be an official case filed against her. The Sheriff’s Office recommended that we not contact [member name removed] and to certainly not go back out to her home. At this time we are following The Broward County Sheriff’s Offices advice. From the information that our dispatcher obtained from [member name removed] that night. The problem she was having was not from the ice maker and in fact [member name removed] said the ice maker was making ice so at this time we will not be refunding [member name removed] for our service. My washing machine was stopping between the rinse and spin cycles, and would no longer work. I called Gunn, and they came out within a few hours. The technician arrived within the specified time frame, and got to work right away. He quickly identified the problem and fixed it. He also told me how to avoid the same problem in the future. He was friendly and professional throughout. My only "complaint" is that I think this particular repair was overpriced -- based on the part that was replaced and the amount of time it took to replace it. However, this will not necessarily prevent me from using them again in the future. I have used them previously to fix my dryer, and had no complaints what-so-ever.

After the quote for $365 for a new pump, we decided to purchase a new dishwasher instead. Holiday Sale Price $500 with stainless steel and everything, free delivery and installation. So they came and installed a new one only for us to find out that it also would not drain the water. The tech then unhooked the dish washer drain line from the waste line and tried to drain it. No problem. So he connected the dish washer drain line back to the waste line. Then he unhooked the waste line feeding into the garbage disposal (where all dishwasher water is collected). When trying to drain the dishwasher, it was not working. So, it all came down to a clogged drain line between the dishwasher and garbage disposal. We then connected the old dishwasher back and of course only to find out that it was working just fine. After blowing out the clogged waste line, the water drained like nothing was ever wrong. It took less then 5 min to find out that there was no broken pump. I was told that is very common to have these problems and that every tech with some brain and experience should always check the water flow and discharge. I am not sure how someone is not even checking for little things like that. For a $60 service call I deserve an hour of trying to locate a problem and not to present me with an option of $365 for a fix or an overpriced $600 option for a new one. This has been by far the worst Angie's list provider ever and I will report this company to the BBB and any other review site. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. This company it a total fraud and I hope the tech that serviced me will be fired on the spot for his un-professionalism and laziness. This company has cost me over $500 for a fix that should have been $60 for a service call and may be some additional money to blow out a clogged drain line.
Description of Work: F- for the worst service call ever and borderline fraud. Provider was hired to fix dishwasher that was no longer draining. I was advised of a service fee of $60 which would be offset if repairs are required and made. Provider came to the house, looked at the dishwasher for 10 seconds and the tech said that a new pump is needed. The pump was quoted at $365. He also offered to install a brand new one for $600. The tech never removed the dishwasher from housing to check for anything, he did not even check the drain inside the dishwasher to look for debris.

George came over saw that there were 2 woman in the household at the time and figured he could over charge my wife. He said the pump was broke. He said the total cost would be $280. As I spoke with him and told him that's too expensive he tried to bargain with me. I then looked online and saw that the pump was $50 and realized he was charging me $220 for labor. Then I looked at all of the reviews and this company charged somebody $200 for the same thing. I called to discuss with the company asked if they have a price guide and she told me no, the manager and service person know from their mind. So apparently they just come up with some arbitrary number and charge people. She also told me how great their prices are and I should call Sears because they are higher. I called and they are only $160. Not happy.

My experience went very well. The staff was knowledgeable and professional. The pricing was very reasonable. He only charged us for a service fee. I would recommend this company to others.

Leaky washer problem: Scott isolated valve leak at motor and replaced motor and worn out agitator. Scott was friendly, professional, and honest in all our dealings. Scott ALSO PROVIDED ADDED VALUE during the time he live tested the machine by helping clean the inside plastic ring. The pricing was reasonable and I highly recommend Scott.
