I certainly appreciate the follow up prompted by my Angies list posting.
My take on this follow up call:
- we both agreed St Pete charged a scheduled fee which is set at a premium price
- I assert that such a price should come with commensurate service
- we both agreed that the technician sent out was most certainly not appropriate.
- all blame seems to be put on him (and to some extent on me)
While I am glad to hear that the technician was let go by the company since I had my experience, this does not rectify my experience, and no offer / proposal to resolve was proposed in this call. Moreover it must be noted that no follow up call from the company was received until after and only as a result of my Angies list posting. Despite:
1) my having paid in full
2) their acknowledgement that there was work to be completed
3) their having let this technician go knowing he had worked on my job
As a point of comparison in my company all my employees are ambassadors for my company and I take responsibility for their poor behaviour should it happen.
The response is misleading in the following regard - No effort / offer was made to rectify the situation - only to understand it, despite we all agree 100% payment was made but not 100% of the work was performed.
"The above referenced job was done in November 2012. At the time, the customer seemed happy with our services. We have been waiting on a call back, after the drywall and tile were set by someone else, to complete our portion of the job. We did not hear back from this customer until this post. Our response is as follows: In reference to the "opportunistic pricing": All customers are given upfront pricing before any job is started. They are priced right out of our flat rate pricing book. Every opportunity was given to turn us away, if the price was too high and or he felt we were being opportunistic. However, we received a signature from the Customer, on two different invoices, stating work was done to his satisfaction. In reference to "know it all's": This particular job was overseen by one of our owners who has over 45 years experience and is educated in the plumbing industry himself. We wouldn’t call him a “know it all”, we would call him knowledgeable. In reference to "paying us to leave and having someone complete the job": All work performed has a warranty term. If there was an issue, that we were made aware of, we would have come back out, under the warranty terms, and made the perceived issue correct. We were not given that opportunity. Customer satisfaction being our most important priority, a call was placed to this Customer today to try and rectify the situation with no prevail. All in all, we are deeply sorry that this Customer did not see the value in our services nor gave us the opportunity to make any issue he was having, right. However, if we don't know there is an issue, and signatures are provided stating satisfaction, we are to understand, there aren't any."
"We are very grateful to have Mr. [member name removed] as a customer and appreciate his years of trust in our services."
"We are grateful for (Member name removed) review and happy that she is satisfied. We look forward to servicing her home again and are thankful she has trust in us."
"This member is great to work for. Since completing his plumbing we've built a close friendship and we welcome the many referrals he's sent our way."
"We did way more work then customer has stated. A price was given before we did any of the work and she initialed everything she wanted done then signed to give us the go ahead to complete the work. After depositing her check it was returned and we had to forward her info. to our attorney to collect payment. We will not work for her and have not been to her home since the above transaction. The $450.00 charge to snake a sewer was not us."
"I'm sorry the customer did not see value in our services. We do not charge a service charge in order to create a "bait and switch" situation. Our service charge covers the cost of the technicians time diagnosing the plumbing issue. As far as the cost goes, I don't know the "actual" work that was performed by the other plumber so I can't compare."
"THIS MEMBER WAS A GREAT CUSTOMER TO WORK WITH. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SERVICING HIS PLUMBING AND BUILDING A GOOD RELATIONSHIP IN THE FUTURE."
"THIS MEMBER WAS AN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER TO DO WORK FOR. WE THANK YOU FOR THIS LOVELY COMMENT. WE WILL MAKE OUR TECHNICIAN AWARE OF YOUR SATISFACTORY RESPONSE."
