I had used them for preventative maintenance in my rental condo at Splash.  Several bad experiences with them.  Had set up a recurring auto-pay bi-annual checkup and assumed it was still occurring.  Found that there was a problem on their end, and unknown to me, they stopped 18 months prior.  While I wasn't being charged for the service, all preventative maintenance had also lapsed and stopped.  I discovered this when I had a "no cooling" scenario, called the company under my "maintenance plan", and found that it had lapsed due to "change in front office personnel".  company dispatched on 4/1/11, replaced the condenser and charged me a "discounted rate" of $1,073.  I am not certain that preventative maintenance would have eliminated this breakdown, but can't help but believe it would have at least delayed it.  I didn't call around to compare prices, but found out a week later that another condo owner (same HVAC system) had his compressor replaced by Comfort Systems for $900.

I kept using this company, and when my remote internet thermostat lost internet connectivity and I could no longer access it remotely, company went out to diagnose - resulting in this company removing my existing $400 thermostat, replacing it with the exact same model sold at Home Depot for $59, and charging me $350!!  In addition, in the process of removing my old thermostat, company also disabled my "auto shut-off" that turns off the HVAC system if the balcony doors are left open.  Not only did this result in much higher electric bills throughout the summer, but cost me another $150 to have another contractor come out and figure out which wires were cut, and re-install.

I should have stopped using this company immediately upon the first mis-hap, but living in Ohio and remotely managing my rental condo from 1,000 miles away, it was easier to continue to use this inept company. I would not recommend using them, and have most recently been using Rousso's - who have done a most thorough and complete preventative maintenance for the last year.

Superior did a great job communicating with me as soon as I placed the order on angieslist. The special price of $49 was excellent for a 20 point a/c tune-up compared to what I was quoted at Peaden and they arrived the first day I was available which was about 3 days after I placed the order. The serviceman was very courteous professional and prompt. Would recommend.

Services not performed are bold and italic.

The technician was friendly and knew what he was doing so no complaints in the company's service technician. Technician said the add was wrong and should have been changed. I was definitely taken by surprise and not real happy with my first Angie's List deal.

Very professional.  From the start, showed up on time and scoped out the work.  Needed a few extra items and sent back for them while other tech continued dismantling the existing system.  Completed the unit installation and clean-up in a little over 7hrs...very clean and efficient.  Took care to not damage flooring or mare doorways, moldings...excellent work.   After a days running, noticed an unusual noise that was not present with old unit...let Superior know that it seemed unusual...Owner came out and personally check unit out at my convenience, turned out to be nothing more than a compressor mounting bolt/ vibration damper issue...resolved on the spot...and we are very comfortable in our new humidity controlled house...unit works like advertised.   Would highly recommend Superior to our neighbors....

The Tech for A superior came out on the intial consultation and took measurements of the air flow at every vent in the house. There were noticeable differences between the back to the front of the house. The back was blowing so hard we had to run our heat to nearly 90 just so our kids could be warm , this created two months of $300+ electric bills and caused our room to be an inferno.

After the tech got the information he needed to do the job, along with the manager at Sears coming out to further validate concerns with the first contractor. A Superior came back and moved the supply the center of the trunk line that runs down our house and put in a new electrical disconnect despite the electrical panel being on the inside of the house yet close to the A/C unit.

A Superior was excellent in all that they did, the helper was kind and professional as was the main tech.

I would recommend these guys to anyone needing repairs to existing units, oh and those electric bills dropped in half to 180.00 and have gone further down.

They're professional. The co-owner Tammy is very nice when it's time to pay the bill.  Tammy is great with scheduling and she will let you know if she can get you in or not. They diagnose the problems and show you evidence, and let you know how they're going to fix it.
Response from A Superior Air Conditioning Company

"Tammy is not the co-owner. Jimmy Thorpe is the Owner of the Company. Tammy runs the office. Thank you for a great report."

The initial service call was very good and extremely professional.  The serviceman did not try to sell me the  world and gave me options.  This is the second time we used this company.

The install was very smooth and problem free.  There was an issue with a plumbing valve that broke when the technician was securing the water supply to the water heater.  Since they do not do plumbing work they could nto repair it.  The valve failure was not their fault.  Normal wear and tear fo valeve is the cause.

The installation technicians, one Latino and one Ukranian wer extremely professional and courteous.  They cleaned up all areas and ensured the unit operating normally priot to leaving.

As expected, there was a follow up service required two days later.  This was professional too.

the ac was not working in a rental property that i own, so i called superior and they came out and said it was a wire on the thermostat. they fixed that and charged $98.00 freaking dollars for 15 minutes work, that did not fix the problem. I called them back 2 days later, and they sent a guy out and told me it was the outside fan on the ac unit, and that would be another $375.00 dollars. They could not get the part until monday. i tried to negotiate with them to get some credit for the initial $98.00. after some haggelling with the manager, she came up with this $350.00 contract kind of deal, that would fix this problem and wave any future $85.00 diagnostic fee for 1 year. I said, "sold", and she said the work would be completed on Monday,  5/2. And she would bill me......Well, the work was never done, and she did not bill me, and never called, but did charge $98.00 for the initial thermostat wire that was not the problem. I will never use them again.

After another AC company came out for our annual service and showed us what the condenser looked like inside the house, we decided to start getting estimates for a new unit. We live close to the beach, so getting over 10 years out of the original unit was more than we could have expected. Either way, it's a big expense. The company that did our annual service quoted us close to $3000 for a new unit (indoor and outdoor). A friend recomended A Superior, so we had them come out and give us an estimate. Right off, they were very honest about what we needed and didn't force anything on us. The quote was practically half what most of the other vendors were offering, so we bought a unit from them. It literally took them less than a day to install the unit. The install was also done the day after we signed the contract! The only issue we had was a little noise that the unit made after it was installed. We called them and they fixed it right away. It turned out to be a little paper tag stuck on the fan motor. They were prepared to replace whatever was necessary for free of course. Great experience.
