As a 1st time home owner I have been overwhelmed and aghast by the costs of home improvements, especially plumbing services! HOWEVER, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ALEXANDER HIPSLEY OF DRAIN MECHANICS showed up to my residence installed new plumbing in the addition AND gave me a GREAT DEAL with HONEST assessments to other small projects that might be needed in the future! I'm DEFINITELY calling Mr. Hipsley and drain mechanics again! With the money I saved Christmas will bring a hot tub installed by the BEST. thanks again Alex.

Called them out for a leaking toilet. Plumber came same day and seemed competent and promised to research best value service (replace toilet or just gasket). He took our wall hung toilet off the wall and left it upside down on floor, then shoved bag into septic pipe. No call back that week and when we called Monday we were told by office staff they would talk to tech and let us know how they would proceed with job. No call back that day. Recalled Tuesday with same update request and was promised a return call that day. No call back. Let them sort their office affairs till Friday and called them back to ask for owner/manager. Was not permitted to talk to them and left detailed message of concern and disappointment with office staff. I was promised a call same day. THEY NEVER CALLED OR EMAILED ME BACK AT ALL. EVER. I paid an initial cost of over $130 and was left with a toilet on the floor for three weeks with septic smell waking me up at night and finally had to just self fixed. Most unprofessional office workings I have ever experienced and left my family of 4 in a bind without conscience.

Josh, individually and as the owner of Drain Mechanics perpetrated fraud against me. Bait and switch created damage to my home in multiple ways. In October of 2019 the owner of Drain Mechanics, Josh, came to my home to create an estimate for repiping my home. I explained that the hall tub was completely clogged and there were awful smells particularly when it rained. He talked to me about repiping the house. There was now water damage and trying to snake the tub did nothing. I asked him for an estimate. The estimate dated 10/21/2019 was for $3750. I knew Josh personally through an anonymous organization and although I am not familiar with plumbing or costs associated with I assumed that he would give me a good deal and I trusted him. I asked for a copy of his insurance and fidelity and surety bonds. He told me that was for commercial work only. I was never supplied with any of the documents I requested then or to date. His workers started soon after the permit was issued. I moved, my daughter, my dog, two cats, and household items and valuables to a house I rented soon thereafter. Days passed and work was performed. On or about 10/31/19 one of his employees, Jeremy Schmidt, told me they would just about finish that day. I was excited. Sometimes during the conversation, I discovered that they only did a new water line. I spoke to Josh about this. Certainly, this was a mistake. I contacted Josh about this. He told me that the drains were not done or would be unless I paid a lot more money. I was very very upset. When we initially met I talked to him about the tub not draining. I told him since the plumbing had to be redone I wanted to get a jetted tub. I asked what size. I also later emailed him the specifications of the tub asking if it would fit and what part of the process did I need to have it there for installation. I asked if I needed an electrician for the jets. He responded stating that essentially it would fit and yes I would need an electrician. I may also need to get someone to frame out the tub like a carpenter or handyman. When I called Josh on or about 10:31/19 very upset he tried to make me believe I said I did not want the drains did which is ludicrous as that was the reason I contacted him. He also told me it was on the estimate and on the permit application. In fact, I never received a copy of the completed application. He instructed me to sign it only. To leave it blank and he would complete the rest. The next day I received another estimate. It was also dared 10/21/19 and was also estimate numbered 299. However, this duplicate was not a complete duplicate. This one had a lot more language and the price was over $8,000. As upset as I was about being cheated, I felt that I did not have a choice as my home was torn apart and was not habitable. Soon after Drain Mechanics used a camera to determine that collapsed cast iron pipes caused the blockage, bad odors, and water damage in both bathrooms plus. I had to give Josh a check for an additional 10,000 on top of the deposit of 2,000 I gave him initially toward the 3750 estimates. I had approved a 900 sewer line charge a few days prior. I also had to find lodging as Josh informed me that I would need it for the repiping and the reconstruction of the house as critical rooms such as bathrooms and the kitchen were not usable. The reconstruction greatly increased the costs of making my home liveable. If I had known that it was the cast iron pipes I would have contacted my homeowner insurance company. Examples of the reconstruction are filling in the outside carport strip where the floor was demolished. I have reported him to the state for consumer fraud not to mention the damage he did to my home.

Jose was on time, and very professional. He located the cracked vent pipe by camera, and worked with me on how best to do the repair to limit damages. We decided to remove the lower kitchen cabinets rather than break through the tile in the bathroom to do the repair. Obed did a fantastic job of getting the old cabinet out without damage. They saved the vent pipe that was removed for me to see how damaged it was. They replaced 2 vents for me, and did a very professional job, put up visqueen to minimize dust throughout the house. They left everything clean and tidy when finished. Jose reset my lower cabinets the next day, and caulked, and left things looking great. Iâ  d highly recommend Drain Mechanics. Jose and Obed were both professionals!

For the 20 minutes the tech was at my house although he did fix the problem I feel the fee was way out of line for the job he did.

The price was somewhat high for clearing a drain, but the job got done.

Mark showed up on time and was a very pleasant guy. We talked about football, fishing, and work while he did his job. It took him a bit clear out the stoppage we had in the main drain line but after a little work was able to get it done. Will definitely recommend them and use them again in the future when needed.
