Atlantic Pest Control & Lawn Spraying Inc

After being with family-owned Countryside Pest Control for 24 years, it merged with family-owned Atlantic Pest Control and Lawn in 2017. The name changed to Countryside/Atlantic Lawn Spraying, and our technician was replaced with Atlantic technician, Marissa. There have been issues, but I chalked them up to merger growing pains and gave them the benefit of the doubt UNTIL their recent visit on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, MLK Day, a federal holiday. They failed to notify me prior to that visit even though they are required to text me because we have dogs (not the first time). The technician did not let us know she was here and on our property; she had no authorization to be here. She did not accurately complete the Service Report she left by the front door (See photo.). And, I believe, she did not secure and check the gate upon departing. There were too many mistakes, and their actions initiated a series of events that led to the death of our beloved dog, Sam, after he escaped and was hit by a car (See photo.). Their negligence violated there own policies, written agreement and prior practice of pre-merger Countryside Pest. The owners' response to my complaints was defensive and unprofessional. They took no responsibility. We were met with denial, obfuscation, unproven "hearsay", a hollow apology, and even an attempt to lay the blame on me. I have made at least three requests to speak directly to Marissa, the technician, and I have yet to hear her version of the events that day. It has been over a week. Why won't owners Jason and Bunny allow or make her speak directly to me? I will not have closure until I know exactly what Marissa did that day. We are thankful there was no human loss of life or injuries as we grieve the loss of our dear Sam. He is gone, and our lives are forever changed. We no longer will do business with these people.

The first work was done in order to create second work, a common occurrence in the industry. To be more specific, the access points were sealed in a way that would allow them to be compromised over time. He used an unsecured piece of chicken wire, propped into place by a brick, on a ground level entry point. Needless to say, just after the warranty expired, the rat came back. When we gave specific instructions on how we would like the house secured from future rat invasions, he said "I don't like your attitude," and got made for "telling me (him) how to do the job." Well, had he done the very simple job right the first time, we would not have had the opportunity to tell him how to do it better. Since this is his job, I imagine he knows what he is doing, and can only conclude that he purposely did bad work to create repeat business. The way he handled customer service... terrible. Not to mention, he didn't follow up on his own timelines when called back out. We had to continue to contact him, only to be met by this poor customer service. Do not recommend.

This was a routine quarterly service. We have been using them for several years. They are always punctual and professional. Small company and you usually get the same people but we had a new guy today so they must be expanding. Use some sort of chrysanthemum formula for spraying that is supposed to be non toxic. We somehow got lost when they switched to a new computer system but that has been the only glitch.

Curt the tech came out early for appointment, very professional and knowledgeable. He did a thorough job and made no mess. Removed all debris and followed through.
One week later they called to make sure all was taken care of. Have not seen ants since.

We have known them for 20 years. We don't have to concern ourselves whether we are here or not when they come. We know they do it on their own and they do a good job. I recommend them to others.

Horribly. Weeds were a constant problem with our lawn (see photo 3 weeks after a spraying). Compounding the problem was the fact that Atlantic implemented a surcharge when gas rates went up that they refused to remove after they fell. When I called to cancel my service (the combination of high prices and a poor product were no longer acceptable), I had the misfortune of speaking with Bunny. Rather than address my concerns in any fashion whatsoever, she berated me, told me I could do whatever I wanted and hung up on me without ever acknowledging my request to cancel services. Amazingly their overpriced, ineffective lawn services are surpassed by their horrible customer service.
