We relocated to the area a few months ago, and knew the pool deck would need to be resurfaced within a year or so. A family member who lives nearby had used Mitch for work on her lanai area, and she loved it, and spoke highly of him. So we placed a call to get an estimate done.
Mitch called us back, set up a time to come by and show us samples, and give an estimate. He gave us a written proposal before he left that day, which included the cleaning, prepping, and resurfacing of our pool's deck, edge, and our covered lanai area. We took a few days to make sure our changes were not an issue with any HOA codes, and to select the color we wanted for both the stone surface, and the new bullnose/edge of the pool.
After initial meeting, plus any time you take personally for color selection, the process itself is relatively quick, like 3 days (includes prep, paint, apply surface, overnight drying and then for Mitch to come back and do his final quality check, clean-up, etc.) Our process took a little longer, 4 visits, but only because Mitch was doing us a courtesy and fitting us in to his schedule, which also included him working some on Labor Day weekend. (In anticipation of a hurricane that was approaching, we had moved some patio items into our living room...so once the storm passed without any damage, we decided to see if we could go ahead and get the pool deck project started. Mitch agreed, and fit us into his schedule.)
Mitch and his associate, Chris, were great. Friendly, respectful, and hard-working...doing whatever it took to get the job done, and done right. (Including putting their swim trunks and getting in our pool to properly paint/coat the full semi-circle bullnose of our pool's edge.)
Mitch properly explained the process to us, which is, by its nature, a bit messy (as the current surface will need to prepped, clean-up after, etc.) For us this meant a lot of flaky paint was washed off the surface, and some of it will naturally end up going in the pool. Our pool edge need to be ground down to create a proper lip for the surface, drainage, etc. - which created dust that had to go somewhere. So, there is clean-up to do with the pool afterwards which Mitch fully informed us of, so we gave our Pool Service guy a heads-up. Not even one week later I had a beautiful pool and lanai area, and we have loved it every day since!
