Massey Services Of Oviedo (Seminole)

I moved from my home in April. The service was paid up until June. I contacted the office to get a prorated refund of $70. The lady in the office told me to call back in a few months to get the check. I ended up calling the office back a few month later. They told me they sent the check and that I cashed it. I never received the check or anything from them in the mail. I know it's only $70, but it's how the company is handling the situation. It's not truthful. The quality of the work is great, but everything else is terrible. They have been very dishonest.

I am extremely disappointed with the state of my lawn. We had previously hired another lawn company two years ago to treat our lawn for weeds and provide lawn service. We have St. Augustine grass and know how temperamental that type of grass can be as we have had to re-sod our lawn twice within a three year period. This other lawn service had done an excellent job with our lawn. They got rid of all of the weeds especially the dollar weeds which had overtaken our lawn. It was plush, beautiful and dark green for which we received many compliments. Massey Services on the other hand who has been protecting our home from termites for over 19 years convinced me to try them and switch to them for lawn service as well and they would give me a better deal. They assured me that their product was just as good as the company we were currently using for lawn service and they could do the same if not better. Financially the deal was much better in that it was $100 less and it covered not just my front and side lawn but also the back yard. Within 4 months of Massey having the contract we started to see weeds in our lawn. My husband called the manager of Massey Services who came out and said they would take care of it. Still we continued to deal with weeds. We spoke with the technician who comes out to spray the lawn and he stated he will take care of it and still our lawn is full of weeds and areas that look like it has been eaten out by something. Here we are 10 months into our contract with Massey for lawn service and the dollar weeds have returned to our lawn with a vengeance. As soon as this contract year is over for lawn service in February 2015, Massey will be out. I would not recommend them for lawn services to anyone. The $100 in savings is not worth it if the lawn is full of weeds.

I am not quite as happy with Massey as I was with Middleton although they are not bad. I just feel like we have more weeds than we used to have. A few times, I have called to have them come back out and retreat an area. We have replaced a little patch of grass here and there. A few times my husband has gone out to kill some weeds himself. Massey is good about coming out when you call them, but it seems we still have patches of weeds here and there. We do have a large yard, but I may switch yard services. As far as their pest control service, they come out twice a year and, since we have the termite bond, they come out once a year to check for termites. We do not have bugs, except an occasional silverfish or something like that, but they will retreat anytime. I have had them come out an extra time this past year to retreat the outside. Overall happy with the pest control and termite bond, but may rethink the lawn service if we continue to have problems with weeds.

We have been very happy with them. They actually went around the house and cleaned the gutters. They removed any wasps, nest outside, or bees anything. They just took care of it all. They don't come in the house unless we have a problem. They would tell us about the insect nest and they tell us what they found and what they did. They are competitive. I think we called in couple of prices and he was pretty much same.

The results are good. They're very professional and on time. If you need a retreat, they do it at no problem at all.

Their prices are fair. They are very professional and neat. I like when they come out to my house. They are always here on time.

I used to have Middleton, but they were bought by Massey. I loved Middleton's service. I'm still getting used to Massey and trying to decide how I feel. Each service is different though. I have the pest control service. I have not seen bugs, a few spiders occasionally. They will come right out and treat the area if you call. I use them for lawn service such as weed control and fertilizing. I do have some weeds in the summer...more than I think I did with MIddleton, but they will come if you call them on that too. The lawn is green and healthy. I think the price is fair. Sometimes I am home when the guy comes out and it seems like they move rather quickly, so that may be why I feel there are a few more weeds. I also have their termite bond. I have never had termites at this house, but we had a few in another house I lived in in Seminole County. I believe in the termite protection Massey offers...the Sentricon system. I have been to the Sentricon website which was informative. I think the bond may be a little expensive yearly ($279 I think) and I am hoping that they truly do stand by it if we should ever need the bond. I think of it as peace of mind. I know you can treat your house yourself, but it is one of those things that we just don't want to do ourselves at this point. They are clean, professional. The pest control guy takes off his shoes. Middleton, on the other hand, put booties over their shoes. I prefer the booties. They do call ahead to let you know they are coming for pest control or termite inspection (which is once a year). Overall I am happy with them so far, other than the few things I mentioned.

I can't tell if I like them or not. I never see them except for the little sign in the yard. I fired them from doing the inside because I thought they got way overpriced. They are a big outfit here in Orlando. By looking at my yard they are doing a good job with that. They are not cheap. They got a little out of line for doing the inside of the house. They wanted a grand a year; it was $900-1,000 a year and I didn't think I wanted to pay that. They are kind of pricey. They come every month and I haven't had to call them for anything. They come any time during daylight hours and do their thing. They appear to be professional. Their trucks are clean, orderly and nice. The guys are in uniforms so they look professional and they are not in t-shirts and shorts like some mom and pop outfits. I pay them $800-900 a year for the outside. I will continue to use them.

They seemed to fertilize the weeds not the grass. The weeds didn't die back at all. They indicated on the service slip they would follow up on the weeds and did not. I am a former Middleton customer who had Massey Services forced on me because of the buyout. They were not customer friendly and are NOT dog friendly. If you use your yard, worry about chemicals and need to know in advance when they are coming out you may get a promise from the company they may not be able to keep. I did. They acted, to me, like they were doing me a big favor by coming out to my house to do work. Everyone from the service tech, to the field supervisor to the office manager acted this way. This was not the company for me. Maybe they would have eventually done a good job but since I actually use my yard and care about when they come out (we have a community yard service and I care about exposing the mowers and my dogs to chemicals) I'll never know. It was too difficult for them to call me and give me notice when they were coming.

Came out immediately to kill dying grass to prep for sod installation. Repaired broken irrigation system as well. When the crew came out to take up the dead grass, they broke a sprinkler valve housing and cover. They did not replace it after stating they would. Several calls to Massey and complaints and they finally replaced just the cover with an old one that was still broken but not as bad. The valve housing is still broken. After the new sod was installed, they did not set the irrigation system to run daily as promised. I had to call three times to get them to come out and do what they said they would do - take total care of my yard including irrigation. They also promised to kill all weeds. After 2 1/2 months now, I still have weeds and more sprouting. When I called twice to complain, they keep passing it off that they will die out once the weather gets hot again. This is not what I contracted them for and I know the weeds can be killed with lawn weed killer. I have taken care of my lawn previously and fully understand what can be done. They are not doing it. I received an offer from True Green to provide the same service at half the price. I called Massey to cancel my agreement. The immediately went below True Green's price to keep me as a customer. I will retain them for a few more months to see if anything improves given our severe winter this year. I will cancel the irrigation portion since they have not provided any value in that area. I check my system every other week and find issues that they shoudl have found and did not. Last inspection report was "Everything is OK". My inspection immediately after found broken heads, leading pipes and blocked heads by root growth. Clearly they are not doing their job. I will fire them after this experience.

I like their services. We said that we would see how it looks before we used them again and we have been very satisfied. It's not 100 percent yet but they are doing a good job. I pay them every other month. The lawn was pretty far gone and has improved a lot since we used them.

New St. Augustine Seville yard not looking healthy. Weeds a constant problem from the beginning. Slow to respond to phone calls. High cost, low quality.

Below average unless I make repeated calls to complain.

I HAVE HAD THEM FOR A FEW YEARS. THEY ARE PRETTY RESPONSIVE TO COME OUT WHENEVER I HAVE A PROBLEM. I THINK ANYONE WHO HAS A SERVICE WITH REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH IT YOU WOULDNT KEEP THEM. I DID HAVE SOMEONE ELSE WHEN WE FIRST MOVED HERE, BUT THIS COMPANY WAS SLIGHTLY UNDER THEM IN PRICE.

THEY WERE OKAY. THEY DONT SEEM TO HANDLE ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE WITH OUR LAWN BECAUSE WE STILL TEND TO HAVE A LOT OF WEEDS. OUR GRASS DOES NOT LOOK AS GOOD AS WE WOULD LIKE IT TO.

I DONT KNOW THAT IT IS ANY DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER COMPANY. I DO STILL HAVE WEEDS EVERYWHERE, BUT THIS IS FLORIDA. I DO LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THEM. THEY ARE NICE AND FRIENDLY. IF THEY DO NOT DO A GOOD JOB THE FIRST TIME, THEY COME OUT AND DO IT AGAIN.

WE FELT THEIR WORK WAS NOT VERY GOOD. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID THEIR WORK, BUT WE FEEL THAT OUR LAWN DOESNT LOOK THAT GOOD. THEY CAME OUT EXTRA TIMES AND TREATED IT, BUT IT STILL DID NOT WORK. WE STILL HAVE WEEDS IN OUR YARD.

My overall experience with Massey-Greenup has been excellant. I've never had to call them back for any reason. They always call me the day before they come because I requested it.

We have been very satisfied with their services. A supervisor checks on the work periodically and makes adjustments in the service. The employees are always polite and well mannered.

The technician went through our home thoroughly and checked for signs of termite infestation. He was polite and professional. He showed up within the time expected and was finished in a timely manner.

Massey Services inspected and treated our home for termites and other outdoor bugs. They walked the property with my husband and pointed out areas of concern. They then treated and routinely return to re-inspect for outdoor bugs.

It is taking much longer than we expected for their treatments to work. We have had them for quite some time, and it doesn't seem to look any better. We have shrubs that are dying and our lawn does not look very healthy. It seems we have someone different coming out here each time we need a treatment, and they have different ideas on what is happening. I am not sure if I will continue with this company.

MY REPRESENTATIVE, BRUCE, DID A WONDERFUL JOB. HE WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO THE NEEDS OF MY LANDSCAPING AND EVEN WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND HIS REQUIRED DUTIES TO MAKE MINOR REPAIRS TO MY SPRINKLER SYSTEM.

I FIND THAT THEY ARE RELIABLE AND SEEM TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE. I RECOMMEND BEING HOME WHEN THEY COME BY TO POINT OUT PROBLEM AREAS. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN I HAD TO CALL TO POINT OUT A PROBLEM THAT I ASSUMED THEY HAD TAKEN CARE OF. WHEN I HAVE CALLED, THEY HAVE BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE AND WILLING TO RE-TREAT.

WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH MASSEY. WE HAVE HAD THEM FOR ABOUT SIX YEARS. THEY ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL AND WILLING TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS WE MAY HAVE ABOUT OUT LAWN.
