Quality First Lawn & Shrub

I have multiple Foxtail Palms in my backyard. When we moved into the property a year and half ago, they were full and a beautiful deep green. Over time, they have deteriorated and one has lost all of it's leaves and is simply a brown stalk. We have been with Quality First since we moved in and not once did the technician mention the condition of the palm or ways to treat it. Another company came out and immediately noticed an issue with all the palms. At that point, I contacted Quality First and Jeff the owner went out to take a look. Since I am never able to speak with him directly and instead contacted by his employees, it was one of them who called me. They told me the palm has a terminal disease and they need to be removed. In addition, she proceeds to tell me it is transferable and that if my lawn guy has used a tool to trim, it will transfer to the others. Had they told me that MONTHS ago, I could have salvaged the other palms. Now, they are too far gone and likely others have become infected too. When I asked how in the world could the technician have missed this, I was told (verbatim), "sometimes they do not look up when servicing so he may not have noticed." Unbelievable. The appeal of this company is that they are cheaper than some of the others. But, like they say, you get what you pay for.

Worst EVER!! I wish there were a rating of less than an F. I have never reviewed a company before but feel compelled to share my negative experience with this one. Our yard has never looked worse and I can’t remember a time that I’ve dealt with more a disagreeable owner. Concerns are dealt with in a defensive, combative and verbally abusive manner. I can confirm reviews on Angie's List and other sites that any issue is always someone else’s fault — usually the landscape maintenance company or the need for a better/new irrigation system, which Quality First is happy to provide for you. Our sod had to be replaced after hiring them, which they finally did after four months of back-and-forth. Mistakenly gave them a “second chance” and deeply regret it. Discovered one of the owners measuring our yard one morning for a quote — she was at the wrong address and had no idea that we were already clients (never mind that I walked the property with her when she did our initial quote). Not a good testament to them — maybe the yard looked so bad that they thought it needed service(?!). Talked through some on-going concerns with her and was promised that the issues would be addressed. Meanwhile, weeds and fungus were allowed to proliferate while being given alternating promises that the problems would be fixed or excuses/placing blame on others. The final straw was when Jeff Melmer (owner) showed up unannounced at our house and berated me for being “unreasonable” for having questions about the service being provided. Interestingly, when I asked him to speak with my husband, he retreated to his truck and drove away. We now need to replace large areas of the landscape. Save yourself a ton of aggravation and run far away from this company!

They've done a very good job for us.

Their service has been great as far as my interactions with them. It's a recent thing that I hired them so I haven't seen a lot of results. The grass is dormant and it's the winter season so we've got a kind of long term plan that we're working on but I've seen their other lawns that they've done and I have high hopes. They came out and provided a good consultation on the existing grass and we made a plan together it was pretty straight-forward. That's pretty much what every company strives to do but they just succeeded and were very professional and competent with it. The workers were great and there's no complaints. They've been awesome. I can't think of anything that I would say they need to work on.

After the initial visit we never saw anyone again. No phone calls to remind us of the quarterly service and no service people showed up. I know they're not just coming when I'm not home wither because our property is gated *and* I work from home.
Anyway, I complained once and they sent someone. But I am not really into nagging people to do their jobs so I just let it go. Money down the drain.
Today they called me and asked me if I wanted to review. I said no.

Debra was quick to give me a bid, that was more informative and reasonable in price than other companies.  Once the sod was down she came quickly to do the first feeding and weed treatment.

I had called 5 or 6 lawn companies and none of them even came close to Quality First.
I did not list a price because you have choices about what you want done.
They showed up exactly on time. Explained what they would do. Walked me around the house and showed me what need to be done. Talked about sprinklers and how to check to see if they were doing what they were supposed to do .
I purchased a year term and paid for it up front.
They have been back several times to check and take care of problems. They also list what they find and what they will do about it it in a letter to me.
In 6 weeks my yard looks better than it ever has. My neighbors have noticed and asked me what I had done.
I do not have to worry about what is going on in my yard, they come by check it and fix it then send me paper work about what happened.
They can also refer you to landscape businesses and lawn and trimmers and sprinkler repair that will work with them and again you do not have to worry or call someone. I can all be done for you

These people charge high prices for their service but don't do good work. We had new sod installed and they were to apply insecticide and fungicide at the time. They failed to apply any fungicide until the lawn had already acquired a bad fungus. As a result our new lawn was almost totally destroyed. The owner cannot even recognize a fungus problem. When there is a problem or complaint they will not return your calls. They do not leave any information about what applications they have done or chemicals used at your property when they perform services. We ordered monthly lawn and shrub service and the shrubs ended up with all kinds of problems as well. When you ask to know what chemical treatments were applied to your property the owner will accuse you of not trusting their service and then quit. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

They were absolutely amazing and just so superb. They were recommended by a neighbor. The lady who runs the whole show was just top of the line. She knows the job. I would not use anybody else if I lived in the Orlando area, but I do not live there now. I was so pleased with them.

QF takes care of our lawn, and this was a call back. My wife noticed white flies in the grass on Friday afternoon and called QF. They came our first thing the next morning. When Lisa had finished spraying I asked her about one of our bushes. She took a look, told us what the problem was and sprayed for us. Until Saturday, we had contracted only for the lawn. Today we called and signed up for shrubs and ornamentals. We had another company for a long time but had become dissatisfied. Our neighbor used QF and was very happy with them, so we began using them a few months ago. They are very professional and knowledgeable, timely, cost-effective, and pleasant to work with. Our lawn has never looked better. We are sold on Quality First.

Met with owner of the company who consulted with me about my lawn (new customer); recommended plan of action to improve lawn; lawn was serviced within 2 days by a knowledgeable employee; came back within 2 weeks (at no charge) to evaluate lawn for additional treatment. Service and knowledge so far has been excellent. Very refreshing after dealing with larger companies and poor results.
