I hired them to replace a broken spring on our garage door. I decided to replace both springs at the same time. The door was working fine before the spring broke. The installer replaced both springs. The door would not function properly after that. He blamed it on the old motor. He said he could replace it at an additional cost. I informed him that it was working fine before he installed the spring. I felt this was a classic up sell. I did not feel comfortable with him working on the door anymore. I paid him $200 for the 2 springs and he left. I left a message with the company and did not get a return call. I made an adjustment to the motor strength and it is working fine again.

They passed the job on to another company without my knowledge. Mistakes were made during installation requiring the installer come back and fix the mistakes. On the end, all is well.

Beware! Do not trust this company! I hired them 19 months ago to replace my garage door spring. At the time they gave me a 10 year warranty on the spring. The new spring just broke, which is odd since a spring should last between 6 and 10 years and theirs didn't even last 2. When I called to have them honor their warranty and replace the spring they told me it would be $100 and they would be out at 9 a.m. the next day. I don't know why I have to pay another $100 when something is under warranty but we'll overlook that. They didn't show up so we called back and they said they would be here between 11 and 1, no show again then they said they would be here by 3. At 4pm they finally admitted no one would be out at all, that was 2 days ago. Since then we have called several times and sent texts and they refuse to even give us the courtesy of answering the phone or calling us back. It has become quite clear that they are simply refusing to honor their own warranty. At this point I am unable to close my garage door at all which means someone can walk right into my garage and then into my home. I am a disabled single mother and as such am unable to fight back. Right now thanks to this company I am living in fear that I will be murdered in my bed before I can afford to hire a decent company to repair the sloppy work that has been done. As a single woman and a disabled person I depend on Angie's List to help me find reliable people to fix things in my home. I feel I have not only been failed by the Local Garage Company but also by Angie's List for giving them an A rating. Hopefully my review will prevent others from being taken advantage of in the future.

Garage door wouldn't open when I touched the button and couldn't figure out why.  After doing a visual inspection I figured out that the spring had broke in two.  I immediately went to angieslist to look for a garage door company and found Local Garage Door.  They had a coupon for preventative maintenance that included a spring replacement for $179.00 and I immediately called them.   To my surprise the could come out the same day between 1pm and 3pm, the technician was here at 1pm.  It took the tech about an hour and he was done, the grage door never sounded so good.  It used to be noisy and have metal against metal noises, now you can just hear the garage door motor running.  The tech was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable about what needed to be performed.  
In regards to price, yes the coupon was for $179 and I did pay $300 but that was because I needed to change out both springs and one spring cost $125 and the coupon is only good for one spring.
