I purchased vinyl flooring and installation services from Empire Today to be installed in my office and on the stairs. The Sales representative showed me a sample of the flooring to be installed but not the stair nose. He did ensure me they would be an exact match. It turns out the stair nose is a much darker grey than the vinyl flooring used on the steps and in the office. Not only is it darker in color, it is also thicker, making each step uneven. When I contacted Empire Today, they sent a representative who agreed it was not right but said it was up to the company. When I called Empire, they stated that is the way the product is made and it's an issue with the product manufacturer and not them. I am not happy with the uneven color and the difference in height between the stair nose and step. Had I been informed of this issue, I would not have purchased this product.

We ordered carpet, gave the salesman a deposit here in Winter Garden outside of Orlando. Installers showed up with the wrong carpet, no big deal, but they showed up two days later with the same carpet they brought the first time. Called the salesman and he just laughed. Since then we’ve have five installation dates and just put off again. Had to call customer support four time with no satisfaction. Only satisfaction came when I called customer support this morning for a refund. Complete idiots.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Disgusting service, they do not follow up, they don't show up for appointments and do NOT back their products and installations! I sat at home an entire day for an inspector to come out to look at my defective carpeting. NOBODY SHOWED UP AFTER CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT IN THE MORNING!!!! I spent hours trying to lodge a complaint and get service. They finally rescheduled the appointment for 2 weeks later. This time nobody called to confirm the appointment the day of. I called to find out what is going on and after almost an hour on the phone was told that the inspector DOES NOT HAVE ME ON HIS SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY EVEN THOUGH THE REP TOLD ME THAT THE APPOINTMENT IS ON HER COMPUTER!!!! DO NOT USE THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, EVER!!!!!! In addition, the local office in Orlando FL NEVER answers their phone or returns phonecalls, even when the national office call center calls them!

Empire was recommended by Angi so we called. Salesman (John) came out and accessed the project and wrote up the agreement. We found later that he made an error on the tile size so when the installer came out we weren't able to proceed. We were promised they would return the following day with the correct size tile, which didn't happen. We were promised an installer the following day--that didn't happen either. From that point on the salesman and the Orlando office wouldn't take our calls and wouldn't return voice mails. This company gets a -10 for my review. They are the most unprofessional company I've ever tired to work with in my 50 years of owning homes. I recommend Angi remove them from your list of preferred companies. They are a miserable representation of the quality firms Angi recommends.

It appears that is the local group that is the problem, so I don't think this should reflect on all Empire Today, but whoever from Empire serviced my job was incompetent. The contract to work order was missing information, so it wasn't the installer's fault. It was Empire's fault. Their responsive has been terrible, they didn't capture that was supposed to be done, they are not timely responsive at all, and leaving the job incomplete.

It was a disaster. We met with the salesman and we ordered carpet and padding for 3 bedrooms. The first install team came to the house and demanded the balance of payment prior to starting the install. We paid. When they went to the bedrooms they said the salesman didn't measure correctly and they don't have enough carpet to complete the job. I told them to give us a refund and not to install the carpet. They claimed they could install what they have and then finish tomorrow and bond a seam. NO, not acceptable. Sent them away and got the refund. The manager asked if they could try again 3 days later. We agreed as mistakes do happen. They scheduled us for first thing Thursday morning. Thursday morning came and went. Thursday around 3pm the installer came to the house when the afternoon rains were happening. He said as it is raining out he needs to cut the carpet in our garage. Huh? really? Garage is full as we are in the middle of moving. He left and said he would cut it at the shop and would put us first on his list for the install the next morning. He doesn't show up. At 5 pm the installer called to say we would be the first install the next day. Huh? We told him not to bother and called the office to cancel the order and get our deposit returned. They aren't very good at flooring but they did process our return funds efficiently. Not sure how they stay in business.

They were awful. It was a pretty bad experience all the way around. Basically the problem boiled down to they had two separate crews come out over two days and when they weren't able to match up the seams they were horrible. One crew blamed the other for not leaving enough materiel to make the seams correct. 

Then when we called for them to send someone out they sent the same guy out who did the work. We learned our lesson, we will never use them again. The second crew also showed with the wrong colored carpet twice.

We had an appointment for a salesman to provide an estimate for new carpet on 09/02/2017 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The technician called at 10 a.m. to say he was on the way. He asked what date we needed carpet installed and I had advised that it was needed before 09/15/17. He notified that they could not install anything before 09/18/17. I advised I understood and that would not work for us. A few minutes later he called back and advised they could accommdate the installation date, so he would come to provide the estimate. He asked if both owners would be present and if we were ready to commit to purchase the carpet. I advised that we were wanting an estimate and then would decide if it fit our needs. He very rudely stated that "it was not worth his time coming out if we were not ready to commit." I informed him if the product is what we are wanting and the price within our range then we might, but I would not know that until he provided the estimate. He stated that it would be a waste for him to come and he needed a guarantee we would commit. At this point, I informed that was not a professional approach. He rudely said he had plenty of customers who want the product so he didn't want to waste his time. I advised that he did not need to bother coming out and would not be getting our business.

They came to install the carpet but refused to take up the lament floor. When I told them they had to the installer said that it's a big job and he would have to charge us more. It even said it on the contract to take up. They left and said they had to get approval and might return. I contacted Empire and the customer service at the call center was fabulous, they did everything they could but they couldn't get a hold of the Orlando office or the installers. This went on for 3 hours with me and Empire trying to call the sale representative with no answer or a return call and no contact with the installers. I cancled my order and got a refund. That is a bad way to do business

The hardwood floors went alright, had to have them come out once and was very responsive. Fixed the issue. The ceramic floors on the other hand was a horrible experience. The installation crew only did the first half of the house in in Jan 17, but neither spoke English or very little. They showed up late and on the first day had no idea what they were there for. My wife was on the phone for the first couple of hours of the job and it was finally worked out. They didn't even know they were doing our two upstairs bathrooms. This was the last two rooms done on the first job and they rushed them. The floors were coming up along with the grout, looked like ****. The tiles were coming up and just a bad job overall. I asked about the quarter round that they tore because it would hide all of the bad cuts, I had it before they tore everything up and my wife wanted it again in the rooms with ceramic tiles. Also they tore a piece of my island of and wasn't even going to reinstall it. Lets move onto the second job, it was good with the installation of the down stairs, and they were there to fix the bathrooms that were messed up. i talked to the installer and he told me that we should put hardy backs down and I agreed, but the company wasn't going to give me anything, so instead of adding another 800 dollars to my bill I went to home depot to get the hardy backs ordered, which was around 250.00 for my bathrooms. The installer took 5 days to complete the work, but then after about 2 weeks in the bathrooms tiles started moving and I have called in on numerous occasions, this happened in the beginning of April 17. I have had two installation appointments to come in and get this fixed, but both times the installers were no shows. The times I have called customer service there has been no assistance. They call industry in Orlando, Fl and no one answers. Then I keep being told they have upto three days to reach out and contact me. No one calls. The floors should be given to me free or at a discounted price and if anyone is thinking about going with a flooring company don't use Empire Today!!!!!!!!!! I will never use this company again. The customer service sucks, the General Manager sucks, the Installation Manager sucks and they will probably never see this review because it has been a horrible experience all around, but they got paid for the crappy work they did.

The guy showed up an hour before the scheduled appointment which was an hour before I got off of work. He then was upset with me that I wasn't going to be home until our appointment time. That is the reason for the appointment! I called and talked to Empire corporate who apologized and said a manager would be in touch to reschedule. It's been a week. No one called.

They should have had some kind of padding underneath, because it's very hard. They glued it right down to the cement. I think they should have had put some kind of padding underneath. Some of the cuts were not... they seem a little bit raw where the cuts join together. So when you look  at certain angles, it doesn't look as much like real hardwood because you can see the cut. I don't know if it was the quality for the hardwood they sold me or the skill of the person installing it, but they should have something that doesn't show the cut so much.

The salesman did not properly consider the job. It is an older house, and it threw me into a tremendous expense with asbestos. I think they should have been able to tell me ahead of time that there was going to be asbestos. The quality was average and their responsiveness was good.

The sales call went well and I purchased their suggestions but the install and customer service was a whole different situation.  They installed carpeting in three bedrooms for me, when I came to inspect the work there was bubbles in the carpet, the seams were all easily seen, the edges were fraying, and you could feel all the nails and tack boards.  The installer explained that those issues were because of the quality of the product that I purchased (but sales person said it was the top of the line).  Plus installer showed up late and seemed to have rushed.  I called Empire to explain my situation, especially the nails and tack boards since I will soon have an infant in the house.  It took 7-10 phone calls to get responses, we had to argue for them to send out different installers, and then after they never called to see if we were satisfied.  For $5000 and a company that stressed customer service I would have expected more.  I would never recommend Empire Today, I would have rather paid more to get better service and products.

The install and follow up went well  The installers showed up on time did a nice job and cleaned up after they were done

One year later I had a problem with the laminated floor it was delaminating  I went to the web sight and stated the problem I received a call from corporate they said I would be contacted by the local office.  One week later I received a call from the local office saying they would be out to inspect the flooring.  After two weeks of not hearing back I called the local office left message.

No return call   I called the salesperson (John) for help  He told me to call the local office and speak to Denna and that he would follow up when he was in the office the next day  No follow up.  This has been going on for 6 weeks and still no returned calls or an inspection.

 they will not resolve this small problem  I would not recommend them because of their poor warranty service

 after the sale.  Empire was not the cheapest but we went for next day install and we liked the product  But follow up after the sale is non existent
