Artesian pools Orlando. Buyer beware, poor workmanship and they do not stand behind problems that they create. Screwed into my house with pool screen and didn't caulk our use proper sealing techniques and created major damage to my home. Artesian pools in Orlando lack attention to detail, experience and products to ensure quality of work. I reached out to request they addressed issue and Tony said "Screen warranty 1 year" even though it was evident they cause the damage and it occurred slowly overtime due to faulty installation. I do not recommend anyone use this company, they are not people of their word or good people. See photos what can happen if you choose Artesian pool Orlando.

6 months later an individual finally showed up, fixed the pavers and the wall crack. 2 months later screen guy fixed his section. 3 months later still waiting for painter to paint outside wall of the pool. Mind you I payed $70, 000 to Artesian for this swimming pool. I am writing because I purchased from Artesian because of their reputation but their service is terrible!!!

Contacted Artesian Pools to set up a date and time for a quote for the screened-in, in-ground pool my husband and I are getting. Owner called me the next day to set up a date & time. However, during our phone conversation, he was very snooty and condescending. He made me feel like I was wasting his time! With a lot of sighs over the phone from the owner, he finally set up a date and time. During our whole meeting with him, he was still snooty and condescending. Artesian Pools hasn?t invested in software to give customers a professional design and layout of pool and deck. The owner/sales rep drew a boring pool on a piece of paper. Not a good way to get any type of idea of what an Artesian Pool would look like and how the deck would look in relation to where the pool would be located. The owner of Artesian Pools gave us the impression that we couldn?t afford a pool. BIG MISTAKE!! My husband and I are paying cash. The owner/sales rep never followed up with us after meeting with him. Our neighbor is also getting a pool and I did tell our neighbor how awful Artesian Pools is. Bottom line: Very unprofessional!!

Unfortunately this review is for Artesian Pools of East Florida and not Artesian Pools Inc. Artesian Pools Inc only builds in the greater Orlando area, Artesian Pools of East Florida is independently owned and operated. I will be contacting Angies List to remove this review.

We used Angie’s List, but we kind of contacted like every pool building company in the area. We saw them and decided we wanted to use them. They kept the area pretty well while building our pool. They did break part of the sidewalk, but then, they came, fixed it, and replaced it for free. So, that was good. It did not screw up our irrigation system. It took them about two to three months to install our pool. They did a good job, but there were some things that were not done that well. There were a few things that if we had known then what we know now, we would have gone with different decisions and done things a little differently I think. We would probably use them again in the future.

Last week I contacted Artesian Pools through their website. Tony emailed me back and after some back and forth communication we agreed to meet yesterday, Monday, March 2nd. I originally requested a 1:00pm meeting but Tony asked if I could come at 2:00pm. I replied that would be fine so we confirmed the date and time and Tony asked me to bring the plat plan for the house I am building. When I showed up at the showroom, Tony was not there (he had left about 1:30) and no one in the office knew that I was expected. I stood around for a while feeling a bit like an uninvited guest. Other than the initial person who came out when I arrived, no one asked me my name or to sit down although several employees walked past me. Finally, a man came and took the house and lot plans I had brought with me and made copies of them. He also looked at the pool design my husband had created to show the lap pool and sun shelf we wanted. He informed me that he was a pool designer with 33 years experience designing pools. Apparently, that was why he felt he could critique my pool design on the spot instead of asking me what I wanted for my pool and getting to know me a bit before reconstructing my design. He also never told me his name but said something to the effect that he would give the plans to Tony and he and I could decide if we could work together. I waited until the end of the day today thinking perhaps Tony would email me apologizing for yesterday?s meeting-that-wasn?t. But I have heard nothing from anyone at Artesian pools. Their website claims, ?When choosing a pool builder, integrity is the key.? To me this situation reflects a total lack of integrity and has left me rather angry and disappointed with the way Artesian handled this. Perhaps they have so many clients that they don?t need my business. I obviously will not be using them and will take my 60K pool budget elsewhere.

I have lived in Florida for over 20 years and this was my 3rd pool I have built in the last 20 years. My neighbors had excellent service from Artesian and I had long decided that would be the company I would use if I ever built another pool. We got quotes from 3 companies and Artesian was NOT the cheapest, but because of our first hand experience watching previous neighbors build pools, we decided to use them for their excellent workmanship. We signed our contract on 4 March 2014. After signing the contract and leaving our deposit, the salesman called us several days later and claimed he had forgotten to include the price of a retaining wall as we have a small incline in our backyard. WE hesitated to continue at this time because "who changes a contract after it is written and a deposit left?". But again, we knew they built a good pool. We paid an additional $3400 for this mistake and we weren't too happy about this. They told us the typical build time for the pool was 6-9 weeks. NO problem! BUT....they didn't start our pool until mid May 2014.-almost 9 weeks after we signed the contract. We had great weather so this was NOT the excuse! I even called the City of Clermont to make sure prior to this that permits had been pulled as I was getting worried perhaps they never had applied for the permits. After starting the pool, we decided to extend our deck 5 feet wider. The cost of this was paid immediately and all communication was done in writing with the salesman via email. But NO one told us this would cause our air conditioner unit to be 9 inches sunk in a hole lower than the deck (the air conditioner was going to be incased within the screen / deck area as our association requires it to be in the back of the house). As things progressed-we saw a major disconnect between the salesman-Tony and the construction crew. He was not notifying the construction crew of the incline in our back yard, the extension of the deck and this caused disharmony. Artesian REFUSED to make it right! The way the deck was set in-any adult or kid could fall into the air conditioner hole and break a leg or ankle-We ended up paying an additional $600 to have an AC company come and lift the air conditioner onto deck level because Artesian refused to make it right. This was crazy to us. We are the consumer-not the engineers that foresee problems and this should have been pointed out to us when the changes were made-but they were not-they took our money and refused to make it right! When the screen enclosure guy came out-he was NOT informed that the deck had been extended and was on the phone with Artesian trying to figure out why his measurements didn't match the blueprints. The pool was NOT completed until September! It took 6 months to build this pool and this was disappointing! A pile of sand sat in our side yard for 4 months and the subdivision association was on us about the time it took for them to complete our pool and clean up our yard. During this time our lawn sprinklers had to remain off and could not be re routed until the pool was done-so our grass was burning up. Our summer vacation was cancelled because we were afraid to leave the pool builders with fear of more issues-so we stayed home to keep an eye on things. On a good note here are the good things I have to say: 1. They build an excellent pool 2. Their sub contractors have worked for them long term and all were polite / worked thru adverse conditions (heat and rain) 3. Julio was the brains behind the work and we appreciated him 4. Charlie did one of the best "pool schools" lessons I have ever had! Although we have NEVER been able to get a pool company to put a completion date in the contract-if you use this company, I would insist that they give you a completion date. Basically they have most of your money (in our case all of it except for $704) while you wait for the pool to be completed. I would use them again-but I wouldn't use the same sale person and I would try harder to get a completion date put in the contract.

Even with the strong design, we chose a builder closer to our home. Henry was very friendly to work with and was even nice when we told him that we had choosen another pool builder. I would recommend Artesian.
Description of Work: Henry Sutton was our designer and he was very thorough on his process. We had a total of 3 face to face meetings. The first meeting was to get to know eachother as well as his product and designs. The second meeting was to see the design he came up with. Honestly the first design was not what we were looking for. The be fair we told Henry to be creative and curvy with his design and we are a more geometrical couple. Henry graciously offered to re design and came up with a very strong design. The redesigned pool features ~450sq ft of pool, ~1600 sq feet of pavers, a 6' x 6' square spa with jets, a sun shelf that could fit up to 3 6ft people laying down (or 2 lounge chairs) a nice size for swimming half a lap and travertine copping and Ozone lighting. Henry was the only provider to print out the design and sign it for us. It was a nice touch :)

Response from Artesian Pools
[member name removed], I'm sorry that you feel that Artesian Pools was overpriced. Our company has been in business since 1976 and I believe that we price our pool responsibly to both stay in business and to be able to honor our warranties (some lifetime warranties). Artesian Pools has never claimed to be the cheapest company in the market. However, I don't believe we could still be in business after 38 years if we were truly overpriced.

We are thrilled with our new pool by Artesian, from start to finish. It looks amazing!!! Greg, our pool designer was fabulous. Unlike others who use computer generated models. Greg has the artistic ability to hand create pool designs. We preferred this over anyone's ability with a computer program to design a pool. Our design has complete functionality, something other pool companies didn't offer or listen to our wants. The entire Artesian staff Vicky, Greg, Julio and Charlie have been A+++++++.

I stopped in to speak with Artesian about setting up a consult for a new pool. The young man had me fill out a contact sheet and stated someone would contact me. Never heard back. I have no idea if this is a good pool company or not, but my first impression is my only and last impression with them. Can't go with a company that isn't even interested in providing an estimate!

We were/are on a very short timeframe to get a pool built, so we only had 3-4 days from the initial decision to start investigating until we selected a builder. Our research seemed to imply that Artesian and one other builder were generally in a slightly higher tier of quality compared to other builders in the area, plus we had seen their roadside building since forever and so they were the first company on our list to engage. First, the email we sent to the orlando email address didn't seem to get to the orlando office right away. We stopped in the following evening and they had not seen it yet. Not a big deal. We met with the salesman and he did a generally good job of showing us around the show pools and talking through the process and their history. With that said, there was a definite 'elitism' in the way he described his company versus his competitors. I understand that a salesman needs to find a way to distinguish himself, but it was to the point where it seemed like he was saying we'd be completely naive to choose anyone but them to build the pool. Particularly, he praised his companies ability to have show pools (which are admittedly nice to see options in real life) but did so in large part by degrading those who use a laptop to show your new pool in a strip mall office. To his credit, he came that night to our house to examine the property for potential issues (access, grade, etc). As we educated ourselves, we decided we wanted a mini-pebble finish (lifetime warranty) on our pool, instead of the quartz (10 yr warranty) that he was originally proposing. He challenged us on the decision and the fact that the minipebble had a lifetime warranty and warned us of 'smoke and mirror' salesman. So I called the manufacturer and verified that they do have a lifetime warranty and further found out that most new pools done are using the mini pebble for that exact reason. If I can call the manufacturer and verify the warranty in 5 minutes, he could have as well, rather then insisting I was being worked over. Admittedly imperfect, I tried to give every builder an equal chance to win the work so I created a detailed specification for what I was looking for that was nearly 2 pages long. He referred to it as 'laundry list' and ignored a few of the items (instead of simply quoting the delta of what he suggested over what I asked for, as other builders did). When I came in for a second meeting he had hand drawn our pool design on a blue print. I can at least understand the benefit of a physical show pool against a laptop and floor sample, but when it comes time to drafting a design from scratch I couldn't believe they were doing it by hand. What happens if we need to move the pool a foot to the right? It put me in a position where I felt indebted to him to make any changes as it would mean significant rework on his part. Intentionally or not, it fed into the growing sentiment that they knew what was best for me and we weren't a vital part of the process. He also told me that we could never do a bubbler successfully in more then 4and quot; of water on the sunshelf. I've checked around and that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Plus I've seen the pumps on these pools and they seem to have more then enough horsepower to have a bubbler effect in 8and quot; of water. Taken individually, these are not a big deal. As a whole, I felt that Artesian was disrespectful to their competitors and wasn't looking to make us an informed shopper if we didn't agree with their opinions. We selected another vendor and are starting our pool build now.

They did an excellent job and the pool looks like new. They had built my pool 20 years ago. The first time I used him he installed a chlorine generator. The installation he did it himself and it cost $100 for the labor. He also installed a valve for me that switch between the main drain and the steamer. That valve was 20 years old. It had a screw on it and the screw over the years deteriorated to such an extent that the pump was actually sucking air through that screw so the valve had to be replaced. Price wise they were competitive.

The salesman was great. The company has been in business for a very long time. The work was completed on time, but I've had some issues with the pool after it's been installed. As of right now, I have placed a call a week and half ago and no one has called me back yet or even acknowledged that I have placed a call. This is something I should get out there. After speaking with four other pool builders and getting quotes, Artesian was a breath of fresh air. Bipin Patel, the pool designer, did something no one else did. He listened to us, but more importantly, provided insightful feedback and years of design experience that made Artesian the clear choice. Sure, the other pool designers whipped out their laptops and provided 3D layouts of their proposed pools, but what good is that if they're not listening to your needs? We originally were trying to cram a pool, swimouts/benches, screen, deck, water feature, salt chlorination, color LED light into a 30k budget. Were the other pool companies able to accomodate our requests at that price? Yes, somewhat, but the pools were smaller (100-130 sqft smaller) and the deck signifigantly smaller (300-400 sqft smaller). Given the fact that we were unwilling to increase our budget, Bipin suggested we install the largest pool and deck our budget would accomodate, including paver deck, water feature and color LED, but to wait on the screen enclosure. His wise advise was that you can always add a screen enclosure when the budget permits, but you can't increase the size of the pool and while you could increase the deck size later it likely wouldn't match the previous materials. A week after visiting the design center and meeting Bipin, we returned to see the design he had made for us. It was wonderful and it exceed our expectations in every way. Great size and layout? Yes. Water feature? Yes. Benches? Yes. Large Deck? Yes. Everything else we were looking for (Color LED, Salt Cholorination, etc)? YES. I work from home and had a front row seat from my desk to see the entire pool construction process. Everyone I met, whether an Artesian employee or a subcontractor, was friendly, glad to answer questions and seemed to have a genuine goal of delivering a top quality product. Any concern I had was quickly addressed and everything they promised was delivered. We had a wonderful experience with Artesian Pools and I bet you will too (ask for Bipin as your pool designer - you'll love him). Bipin, Julio, Vicky, Keith, Mary and Charlie, everyone at Artesian, we love our pool. Thanks!

The overall experience was extremely positive. I can not say enough about Rick. He has been there since the beginning and even now, five months afterward, Rick still calls to follow up on us and ensure everything is ok. We've had one issue with the in-floor cleaning system and he was on-site helping getting it fixed. One thing is certain, when Rick says he will fix it, or get it done - it gets fixed and it gets done! He's true to his word. Artesian is fortunate to have him on staff. I would recommend this pool company, and especially Rick, to anyone contemplating building a pool.
Description of Work: After contemplating building a pool for our home, and countlessly searching and interviewing several pool builders we decided to hire Artesian Pools. Rick Malanowski met with us several times and created several drawings for us to contemplate. We had several revisions as we added and removed features based on price, and value. Rick was very accommodating and he ultimately delivered an official blue print. The work began and the schedule went according to plan, we started in mid December 2011 and everything was complete by early March 2012 (taking into consideration the holiday season). Rick was available throughout the entire process and each step of the process developed well. One thing I commend Artesian in doing, is having contractors that really did their best to have as minimal interruption to the surrounding areas as possible.

Richard Malanowski, the "Design Consultant", would not come out to our home to give us an estimate until we had "secured financing". I understand his reasoning, but don't think it's very professional considering there are many other choices for pool builders in Central Florida. Once he understood that we would not need financing he scheduled an appointment at our home. His demeanor over the phone was not friendly, it seemed like we were really troubling him for his services. On the day of our appointment he arrived dressed like a 70's p*** star, I'm not kidding. Besides that, his demeanor was the same- grumpy! We were having a fence being built that day and he actually went outside to tell them how to put the fence up so that he could easily have his machinery moved in for the pool building process. I couldn't believe it, we hadn't even hired him! After that he was suppose to make a drawing of the pool for us and e-mail a quote to us. I never heard from him again. We ended up using another pool contractor in Central FL and are ecstatic with the results and the amount of outstanding customer service we received. There is no way we would have used Artesian Pools after our experience with Richard.

Response from Artesian Pools
We appreciate the fact that there are many other choices for pool builders in Central Flordia. We certainly know that Artesian Pools is not for everybody. In our business, we have to qualify, to the best of our ability, every phone call and inquiry we get. We don't just jump in the car and drive out to each and every person who calls. Pool Design Consultants are 100% commission based, therefore, have to make judgment calls on how to most effectively spend their time, in order to provide for themselves and their families. As we all know a pool is a luxury item, so financing is very important when qualifying a client. Besides financing, there is additional criteria that we need to discover, in order to determine whether or not a client is a good fit for Artesian. Artesian Pools has one of the best reputations in Orlando since 1976. We've built over 9500 pools in the last 35 years. We do apologize that you had a bad experience. We strive to give everyone an enjoyable experience. We can provides 100's of recent referrals to anyone looking for a pool. Richard Malanowski can provide the same amount of referrals.

Both pools that Artesian built were well built pools. My second pool had some issues with the pool coping and at first, I couldn't get anyone to listen to my concern. It seems to be an industry response when the home owner complains about something with their pool, the pool company responds by saying, "It meets industry standards." But, when I contacted the company owner himself (My Cooper i think?), he came out himself with the pool designer and agreed that their people had not done their best work. He had the problem corrected and I was happy. In the end, my best compliment to Artesian is that you can have confidence that they are going to build you a good pool and you can count on them to do the work in a timely manner. If you are a more experienced buyer like myself, shop around to make sure you get the most for your buck. I'm glad I did.
Description of Work: I have had 2 pools built by Artesian. They did good work and were responsive to my concerns when they were brought to their attention. I did not chose to use Artesian when I built my last pool a few years ago. It's not that I didn't think they were going to do a good job, it was just that the pool designer (the same guy I had used the two previous times) was not listening to me on what I wanted in a pool. He drew me a pool he wanted to design instead of what I wanted.

We got several bids and their pricing was well within line with others and maybe a little less. We were very satisfied with the original pool that they put in.
Description of Work: We used Artesian Pools to resurface our pool after 12 years. They built the original pool.

They did a great job. There was a small delay in the process because of the city and inspections. They are very courteous and personable. They also have taken care of any problems that I have had since the installation without charge.
Description of Work: They installed my pool.
