calendar". Paid the deposit August
3 and work started August 12. The gentleman
worked for 2 hours the first day. Next day 2 guys worked about 3.5 hours, until
it thundered, then they disappeared. I assumed they were taking lunch and would
come back as it did not rain. In fact the clouds made a usually hot day much
cooler. That was how the entire job went. Showed up after 9 just when the day
started heating up and worked no more than 5 hours.
This went on until August 20. That day the guy worked for
an hour, and then we did not see him again until August 25 when he was picking
up some of their debris. I showed him the areas that needed additional work.
Namely the areas where the drains did not line up, areas where the drain was
not cemented in properly, and areas that just were not finished. He said
"no problem, I can fix those areas". I informed him we would be out
of town for a couple weeks, but our son would be here.
We returned on September 7 and nothing had been done over 2
weeks? time. We did, however, receive 2 invoices requesting we pay
the final bill. I called and asked why we received a bill when the work
was not completed. The office was uninformed.
I also requested someone else complete the job, but that was not
possible. SO, same guy came out on September 10 and 11 to repair the job. We
did question one of the problem areas and his response was that he did not work
on that part.
The sales
person came out at my request. He arrived on September 25. I wanted him to see
the job his employees had done. Asked him if this was his pool deck would he be
happy with the job? He sent out another
person to ?pretty up? the mess that was left of my pool deck. This was finished
the following week. Job is acceptable.
Too bad some of the patch was left on my pool tiles and the guy rinsed off his
trowel in my pool before he left. The job took from August 12 through September
30.
"Our apologies for the time delay with your construction project. When working with cement products, we err on the side of caution when weather issues arise. During the summer months, rain chances are abundant and we strive to work efficiently around these issues. It is our experience that it is better to back off a job then to take a chance on the weather and have our efforts washed away by rain. We should have done a better job informing you about the weather issues with the installation of your deck drain. Communication plays a key role in construction projects. The initial installation went according to schedule, taking less than 2 weeks. Unfortunately, there was a communication breakdown regarding the finishing touches of the job. We purposely waited for you to return from vacation so that the finishing touches could be completed to your specifications. I do apologize that we were not clear with that intention. There are times when the contractor has an expectation for the job that varies from the customer. We wanted to make sure that we met your expectations. When our original worker was unable to satisfy you, we sent out another technician. The deck drain channel was smoothed out and the job completed. I am pleased that the end result was satisfactory for you. Thank you for taking the time to call our attention to the issues with your construction project so that we can remedy this from happening in the future. We will strive to be better communicators with our customers. If you should have any needs for your pool in the future, please contact me directly and I will make certain that your experience is beyond your expectations as it should have been the first time. Robin Fitsimones President"

"Thank you. We strive to give our customers the straight story about the repairs of the swimming pool in a courteous and professional manner so that you the customer can make the decision that best works for you and your needs."
I've been using All American Pool for years and just realized they are on Angies List.
Whenever I have an issue going on with my pool system that I can't figure out, I know I can always count on these guys. They have been helping me keep my pool and pool system going for years, now. And when problems arise, nothing makes me feel better than seeing Tim arrive in the A-Team truck as I like to refer to it. Tim is an excellent technician that knows his trade extremely well, and not only always figures out and fixes the problem, but usually helps me improve my system with some tips.
Top notch company, efficient, always on time, Robin is always responsive and excellent communication, and they do good honest work at a reasonable price.
"Thanks, [Removed member information]. It is always a pleasure helping you with your swimming pool. Robin"

"Thank you for allowing us the privilege of servicing your pool. We look forward to helping you with your swimming pool needs in the future. All American Pool-N-Patio, Inc."
Highly recommended
"On Thursday July 11, 2013, the customer called and requested a proposal to refinish his swimming pool. On Friday July 12, 2013, we went to his property and prepared the estimate. The estimate was typed and mailed to the customer on July 15, 2013. We followed up with the customer via regular mail on July 23. We prepared the estimate the customer requested timely and professionally. I am not sure where we went wrong. We pride ourselves in our responsiveness and getting the customer the information they request in a timely manner. I would love to have some details from the customer so that I can resolve any shortcomings that might have occured."
The tech left large shards of glass in the pool from the broken light lens and a pile of broken glass next to the pool. The light rusted and stained the edge of the pool that I had to repaint.
I wanted a new motor installed and the tech talked me into replacing a part. Two months later I had to have the motor replaced anyway.
Even if the cost and adjustments had been significant, it wouldn't have made up for the frustration and hours of complaining it took to get the job done (actually I went to another company for the motor repair, paid a fair price and was VERY satisfied).
"[member name removed] light issue was very frustrating for him. The lense of the light was cracked causing his initial call which is an unusual issue. Due to the crack in the light, water intruded into the light fixture. When our technician removed the light from the pool wall, the light lense broke. The technician showed [member name removed] the broken lense and the customer told him not to worry about the glass that he would take care of it. Our first remedy was to try to dry out the light which sometimes works. We dried the light for several days. If this had worked, [member name removed] would not have incurred any material costs. We try to be conservative with our customer's pockbook. When this approach did not work, we gave the customer other options. [member name removed] elected to repair the light and we ordered the parts. The parts took about a week to reach us from distribution. During this time, [member name removed] called and mentioned the glass in the pool, I told [member name removed] that I would have the technican return to vacuum the glass from the light and the customer declined. We gave [member name removed] several options to repair his light-each option being very cost conscious. We did the same with the pool motor which was aging but not dead at the time of our visit. We do not replace items that are not broken and made no repairs to the functioning pump motor. We warranty our repairs for 30 days. [member name removed] called us on June 3, 2013. We visited his home on June 4, 2013 and gave him the option to dry the light. We returned on June 11 after drying the light and verbally gave the customers options to replace the original light with same, with another light or repair the light. He eleclted the less expensive route and we rebuilt the light. We returned on June 18 and did the work. On September 5, [member name removed] called saying the light did not work. I sent a technician back to his house on September 9 to access the problem. Our warranty is 30 days. We accessed the light at no charge and also looked at the customer's pump. Again we did not charge the customer. He did remind me of the fact that our technician did not vacuum the glass out of the pool after we offered twice to do it. I also knew that [member name removed] had been frustrated with the light repair and we wanted to do right by him so we no charged the work order. We found that the original water intrusion was worse than we expected and the new rebuild kit was sacrificed. We did not charge the customer labor to put a new light in to replace the option that he originally chose and we charged him cost on the new light. [member name removed] also asked that we extend our 30 day warranty for the light to 1 year and I agreed without question. The only stipulation to the extended warranty was that we would not warranty a light due to a broken lense. We tried to make [member name removed] experience a pleasant one. We tried to give him options that would work for him and be as cost effective as possible. We provided him with a solution and an extended warranty. [member name removed] was cared for immediately not eventually. We listened to his concerns and addressed them. We took away several items that we will use as training tools. We take pride in doing good work at fair prices and providing our customers with options so that they can make decisions that suit their needs and budgets. We wish [member name removed] luck with his pool and would be glad to assist him in the future as we discussed with him."
"Please forward this outstanding review to the proper recipient. We do not build pools and it is not our review."
