Currently rating a 2 until I get a returned call. Dianne is sweet to talk to, gives me her personal number and this impressed me, however; the work was done mid-day on a Tuesday and didn’t receive the invoice until Thursday at nearly 1700 tells me there is some disorganization at their level. This was an install of a SimpliSafe camera doorbell they a 24V line and no electric because the home previously had an intercom system. The worker explained the need for a new transformer and the cost but the final invoice breakdown was more than originally expected. No mention of a “Truck Fuel Stock Fee” of $14.95, an “Electric Diagnostic Level 1” fee of $176<<<

he was here for all of 45 minutes from start to finish and all he did was tighten a wire and the circuit was tripped. If i would have known the circuit to that particular outlet was on the outside of my house i could have flipped the switch MYSELF! No way in this world should that have cost me $250. ABSOLUTELY INSANE! Even called other electricians and their cost was waaaaaay less! RIP OFF!

The young man named Mitch was respectful and knowledgeable, he explained everything step by step. He found the problem explained the cost and we accepted. We even asked he to install our new bathroom light exhaust fan, told us the price for the installation we accepted. Everything went so well. I will definitely use the company for all my electrical issues now and in the future. I will definitely be asking for Mitch as he has so much knowledge it’s unbelievable. I even signed up for their VIP list, it’s worth it. I want to thank the young lady who answered the phone, she is great. Thanks for giving my the appointment for the same day. It’s great to call a company and Get a live person on the other end of the call instead of an answering machine.

I asked what the cost was they stated $265.00 I challenged this as I was told a free diagnostic and a $65.00 trip charge. The manager called me and said they charge to diagnose the problem, I again challenged and saying your people quoted me free diagnostic I asked what's the difference between diagnose and diagnostic? and reminded him his tech was only there for 15 minutes. I paid the $265.00. 4 hours later I had the same problem it was more than a thrown breaker. And according to the tech it was the whole Junction box.So I told he to go ahead and change out the whole junction box. He quoted me $950.00 I expected a call from there manager reviewing the charges, and possibly some type of reconciling of the 1st charge. They didn't call me just charge my credit card again without asking for permission. I called and got there service asking for someone to call me but the call never came. As I had more work for them thought I would give them a chance to reconcile. But I would choose not bother as I felt they were not straight forward and honest about there billing. The work however was done well....

One of the things I liked about them was that they said they would be here in a certain time frame and they came within that frame. People in the past I've used always have such a large time frame and this company did not have that issue. They are clean and professional. They also talked about other things that they saw so they could come back and do some other things for me. It was a really great thing to see compared to other companies. Very well spoken and very well dressed.

$4,700

I called A-Luminations BECAUSE they have an A rating on Angie?s List.  I know fair grades are important; therefore, this F grade needs to be explained to inform potential customers.

My home, built in the 80?s, has aluminum wiring and a routine electrical fix prompted an electrician to recommend alumicom replacement connections and new breaker panels.  Within 2 hours of my call, Amelia went to my home and gave a count and estimate that Diane discounted 10% to a total of $4,700 for the panels and 105 devices.

During the installation I was called to ?sell? me new outlets/switches for $300 more which I declined because it?s difficult enough to afford the $4,700.  Immediately after completion I received an invoice for $5,200.

My handyman who was at the home doing other repairs observed that not all devices had been completed.  I called and Amelia said ?her time is valuable? and I needed to identify the potential problems  for them to revisit the home.  The only way to ?identify? the problems was to remove the fixtures and covers to see inside.  My handyman spent hours and uncovered 34 connections- including exterior and garage connections, plus dishwasher, disposal, ceiling fixtures and others that had not been completed!  Recall that all 105 connections had just been invoiced, also without the agreed discount.

New tenants were to move in the day they said they would send two electricians by noon to complete the work; only one arrived and not until 1:30.   He informed us that they do not commonly do fixtures that need to be removed and reinstalled, so the handyman had to also reinstall them after the alumicom was in place.  No mention had ever been made about us doing the fixture removal and reinstall.  In fact, I?ve been told that an electrician is supposed to do that kind of work, not a handyman.  So if someone hires this company to do this job you?ll also need to hire a handyman or contractor to remove and reinstall the fixtures in the home.  How else can the job be considered done if only some of the connections have been corrected with alumicom?

When completed, I had them walk around and total the devices again as I no longer trusted the 105 number.  The actual number was 95 plus one that was not being charged because of a broken fixture, so a total of 94 should have been charged instead of 105!

The next morning I received an email requesting payment card information.  No revised invoice was offered even though I should have been charged for 11 fewer connections, plus I had to pay my handyman to do part of the job they should have completed!  This certainly justified a complaint call and their response was an offer to reduce the bill to $4,680 and call it done (a mere $20 reduction even though the count is 94 instead of 105!)  Really!  No reduction for the 11 connection overage, nor the handyman?s many hours to open the 34 devices and reinstall fixtures, nor my "valuable" time to drive 50 miles each way to supervise the process, nor the lost day of rent!!

Finally I proposed a reasonable adjustment just to get the matter finished; they accepted the discount which could have been much higher and they have been paid.

This has been the most unprofessional and frustrating experience I?ve had with any vendor.  Frankly I worry about the quality of their work given the deficiencies in every other regard.  I highly suggest great care if you choose to work with them? at least do your own count and monitor the project closely to be sure it all gets done as agreed.

On the day of the service the technician was over an hour late.  Understandable because his work truck brokle down.  Happily that was the only thing that went wrong.  The technitian was obviopusly a professional with years of service in the industry.  He explained exactly what he was doing and took his time making sure that the instillation went exactly as it should have.  He never attempted to sell me on aditional services.  I inquired about other things I would like to have done, and he provided me with, what I consider to be, some great estimates.  I was  pleased with the job they did, but even more so that they honered a 90 estimate they gave me over 6 months earlier, without charging a penny more. Great,  because I didn't have a penny to spare.  Overall,  I give the service an A plus rating.  Would definately use them again
