The first tech thought I lived in Orange Park, went there and called me to cancel the appointment. One day out of my life. Then a tech showed up just to due the diagnosis. Two days out of my life. Then on the third occassion, one guy fixed the dryer. The second was to clean the vent.  He managed not to reconnect the vent.e also left lint on the floor and on my roof. When I called Ms. Wilson, she insulted me and told me it take five days to get another tech to my house. Four days out of my life. I called HH Greg, whose supervisor was shocked by what Ms. Wilson said to me, and they called in another comany to fix the problems left behind by (In)Expert Appliance Repair.

I found EARS to be highly rated on Angie's List so I gave them a call. From the beginning, Gloria was helpful. She scheduled me for a repair appt for the belts by Thursday of that week. The technician called that morning and arrived promptly. He changed the belts and recommended a glide kit. I asked him to please call his office and ask them to order it that day if possible and to schedule me back into the repair loop as soon as possible. I had already been without it working properly for over 2 weeks. I avoided washing heavy loads until i could get it repaired. I called the next day, on Friday, and spoke with Gloria again. She gladly picked up a dropped ball by locating a glide kit for me and getting me in the repair loop by Monday. Had I not called, i might have fallen between the cracks. Gloria originally thought she couldn't get a tech back out before the end of that next week. I pleaded my case and she picked up the situation and made it right. Monday morning I received a phone call from a different technician, Mitch, saying he would be here between 2-4. He was very prompt, actually a few minutes early. After installing the glide kit, my old Maytag washer is like new again. Mitch said he was surprised that i was repairing it. I guess most people go for new. NO WAY! I know Maytag washers of 20 years ago are worth their weight in gold. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EARS. They are honest, reliable, affordable and like Maytag of years ago....they are DEPENDABLE!!!! "The customer called on Monday 5/20/13 and we were able to schedule him for service within 24 hours on Tues 5/21/13. The technician assigned to the job attempted to call the customer several times that morning to give a window as to when to expect him. When the customer did returned the call to the technician, he complained that he called the office and the guy who answered the phone did not have a record of service for him. He also told the technician that it was hard to hear the guy because of all the chickens in the background and cancelled the job. Expert Appliance Repair Services scheduled the call to the customer for within 24 hours, attempted to contact the customer by 9:30 the morning of the appointment but was unable to make contact, and we have three women in the office answering the phones, no men. We are in a professional business district and conduct our business in a professional, business atmosphere (no chickens in the area). We can only conclude that the customer misdialed the number when he called the office."

My dryer was making clunking noises when the drum rotated. At first I thought someone had left something in their pockets, but when I ran the dryer with nothing in it, the clunking noise was still there. I called my warrenty company on April 24th and they passed it on to Expert Appliance. Expert contacted me on the following day and sheduled a tech visit on the following Monday (the 29th). Scott came when he said he would and assessed  a crack in the drum weld. He was very personable andprofessional and told me he would order the necessary parts.  Expert called me when the part arrived and scheduled the repair for Thursday the 9th. The Tech was here when he said he would be and replaced the drum. He told me that some dryer makers have weak drum welds and the company that made my dryer (LG) was one of them. He also was very personable and professional. The dryer sounds fine now. I am happy.

The oven stopped working completely but the range continued to work. I looked on Angie's List and called Expert Appliance Repair Service. They responded quickly, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. Because we were out of town for a few days the final repair visit was delayed but was scheduled the day after we returned. Everyone who came to the house - the owner and two other servicemen - were knowledgeable, professional, courteous and considerate. This could not have been a better experience. In addition, phone calls to this company are handled exceptionally well. Scheduling is done to accomodate the customer. The work is done neatly and quickly. Everyone is extremely punctual and calls before arriving. This is a terrific company and we will never use anyone else for appliance repair. The Angie's List discount was also very helpful. Yay, Angie's List and "thank you so much!" to Expert Appliance Repair Services.

In February of 2013, I noticed that there was a smell coming from my washer which smelled like old "dirty water".  When I went to investigate I found that there was a drawer full of water underneath my front load washer.  I removed all the water and checked all the hoses but could not find the source.  I called Expert Appliance Repair Services in early March and they sent someone out within 3 days.  The technician did call and gave me a time frame as to when he would be arriving.  He was prompt.  He diagnosed my problem as being a damanged door seal due to worn shock absorbers that cushion the drum.  He said he would have to order the parts.  Approximately 3 days later the office called me and quoted me a price for the parts and service of $240.00, I agreed to this so they ordered the parts.  The parts came in 7 days later and I recieved a call on Thursday that the repairman could be back at my house the following Monday.  The repairman called me that morning, gave me an approximate time that afternoon he would be here, and he was prompt.  He repaired the struts and the seal, cleaned up after himself and was very courteous.

Our new LG refrigerator - less than 1 year old - had some problems, stopped working and needed serviced.  When we called LG, they had given our information to "Expert Appliance Repair Services".  Mitch came out and diagnosed the problem and the necessary parts were ordered.  He also checked and worked on the refrigerator that day, and assured us that it was okay to continue to use.  When the parts came in (time frame was acurate-yeah! reliable), we were called, and another appointment was set up.  Today, 2/28/2013, Mitch replaced the necessary parts.  I was very satisfied with all of this repair companies personnel, that I came in contact with.  Everyone was helpful and professional.  Mitch was extremely professional and courteous!  I would not hesitate to recommend this company, due to the experience we had with Mitch and his thorough knowledge of our particular product.  I would rate their service as a "5" out of 5!!

First technician diagnosed problem, advised what parts were needed and what needed ordered.  Upon second trip to repair once parts were in, first tech had overlooked another part: yoke assembly that was needed, which caused another part order and third trip to finish repairs.  Parts have to be ordered (7 1- 10 days) for this brand, but that's not Expert's fault.  Third time was the charm and the dryer is repaired and runs as it is supposed to run.
All the guys that worked this repair were professional and great to deal with.  This is the second time I have used Expert for this dryer and would heartily recommend them.

THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS VERY COURTEOUS.  HE SOON ISOLATED MY PROBLEM TO BE THE  RANGE CONTROL UNIT.  THE TECHNICIAN TOOK THE TIME TO CHECK WITH  GE AND SEVERAL OTHER DISTRIBUTORS AND INFORMED ME THE CONTROL UNIT WAS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED NOR WAS ONE AVAILABLE.  HE ADVISED ME I COULD POSSIBLY LOCATE A RECONDITIONED CONTROL UNIT ON EBAY AND IF I FOUND ONE TO NOTIFY THE OFFICE HE WOULD RETURN AND INSTALL IT FOR ME.  HE FURTHER INFORMED ME TO BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT PURCHASING A RECONDITIONED UNIT.  AFTER THE TECHNICIAN LEFT THE WIFE AND I DISCUSSED THE SITUATION AND SINCE OUR RANGE IS 16 YEARS OLD WE DECIDED TO TAKE HIS ADVISE AND PURCHASE  A NEW ELECTRIC RANGE.

I called to make an appointment for the service call.  They had an opening roughly a week later and said they would call the morning of the service day and give a two hour window of when they'd arrive.  I asked that they call my wife, since she works from home, and I gave them her phone number.
On the day of the appointment, the service person, Steve called me instead of my wife.  I called him back and had to leave a message.  My wife then call him and spoke with him.  He said he would arrive between 1 pm and 3 pm that day.  By 3 pm, he hadn't arrived and he then called my wife shortly after 3 pm and said he was running late, but that if she had time, he come right over.  She said okay, but by 4:30 pm, he had still not arrived.  My wife had to run up to the school and drop something off.  
Right after she left, he arrived, an hour and a half late.  Since she wasn't there, and my 13 yr. old daughter answered the door, he left without looking at the dryer.
No one called back, so I called Expert Appliance.  The person who answered the phone stated that the driver said he arrived on time and no one was there.  That is not even close to being accurate.  The person on the phone was defensive, but at least did apologize for not being able to look at the dryer.  They were booked up solid and couldn't come out again for another week.  
Rather go through this process all over again, I've elected to find someone who is more appreciative of their customers and respectful of their time.
The shame of it all is that I have used them one other time in the past to repair my refrigerator and they did a good job.  There are many options available so there is no reason to put up with poor customer service.

"At Expert Appliance Repair Services we strive to respect our customer's time. That is why we give 2 hour windows at the beginning of each day, thereby not keeping the customers restrained at home all day. The technician called the customer's wife initially but there was no answer, which is why he called the next number on the list. The technician did get held up on a call prior to this one, which happens occassionally. When he informed the customer he was running late, he was NOT informed that the customer had to leave or that she would be right back. When he arrived, no one answered the door or the phone when he attempted to contact her to let her know he was at the home. Not knowing that the customer would be right back, he moved on to the next call. We do not allow our technicians to enter a home with only a minor, an adult must be present. We regret we ran into these issues with this customer."

Great!! The tech came out on time, calling first as they said they would. He inspected the washer, put it through cycles, explained the problem and our options. After discussing the problems, we decided to replace the washer. the tech was very helpful, mentioning name brands he felt were best, and stores he'd heard were having sales. Will use this company every time I have an appliance issue, couldn't have been happier or more impressed.

This visit was to install a new board and controller on my 2 year old  Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer which was having problems with it's rinse and spin cycles. Square Trade Warrenty had chosen this vendor for the service. This service tech diagnosed the problem and told me he would order the part. He was prompt and professional. When the part came, the installation was set up for Monday, July 2. The second tech was also prompt and installed the part. When I did a load of wash later that day, the washer would not spin without making a loud squealing noise and would not spin fast enough to remove any water. The result was an LE code and a door which would not unlock.  I was able to get it to empty and spin a bit after repeatedly unplugging and replugging the machine selecting spin only. I called Expert Appliance the following day and was told by Kelly that the earliest they could check it out was the following Tuesday since they do not regularly come up to the area where I live. I told them they needed to send someone up "today" since they are the ones who left the machine in worse condition that before they "fixed" it. If nothing else, they could reinstall the "old" board which did work better than the "new" one. Kelly was supposed to call me back. I contacted my warranty company and they said they would contact Expert. The final resolution seems to be that they will get someone here "this week", but so far I have heard nothing. I would not be so adamant except that my machine had been semi-functional before they came and useless after they fixed it. Under those circumstances, I believe they should have sent someone out on Tuesday. I will update this as the issue resolves, but for now, I would not recommend them based on their cavalier  attitude to resolving problems they have caused.

07/05/2012: I called Expert at 9:00 AM. Donna  told me the tech would call me back in a few minutes. Both the Tech and Expert left messages on my answering machine within 30 minutes requesting verification that a time between 12:30 and 2:30 would be acceptable. The Tech arrived at 1:15. He was very pleasant and professional.  He checked the washer out and said  the combination of problems that itr was having were unusual. He is ordering a new board, wiring harness, and motor sensor.  I will update this when the new parts have been installed.

07/09/2012: I called Expert to see if the parts were in. Donna told me they were still awaiting approval from Square Trade so the parts had not yet been ordered. I called Square Trade. They told me they review and make decisions on parts and service requests every day and had not received any requests from Expert. Ritchie, the gentleman I spoke with, has contacted his manager who in turn will contact Expert. They will update me tomorrow. Square Trade initially contacted Expert on June 11th to arrange to fix my washer. It has been almost a month now and my washer is still not fixed.

7/10/12: Square Trade contacted Service Power who in turn contacted Expert directly and approved the parts.

07/16/2012: Kelly left a message that the parts came in. Donna scheduled service for Wednesday the 18th. The Tech arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. He ran some checks on the washer.. He told me the whining sound was coming from the motor. he did some further checking and told me  the parts that had been ordered would not fix the problem. He would need to order more parts. I called Square Trade and asked the tech to talk to them. He did and ultimately Square Trade decided to issue me a check for a new washer.

The technican identified the problem.  The door latch mechanism had broken.  The door latch was not closing properly as part of the plastic had broken from the defrosting element.  Technican had difficult time trying to remove the parts for replace.  He remained profession, persistant, and was able to remove and replace pieces.  The technican never appeared frustrated during the entire visit.

The service was easy to schedule
The technician called on the day of service to confirm he would be coming that day as promised.  He indicated he would arrive between noon and 4 pm and arrived at 3:45.
He quickly got to work troubleshooting the problem, determined the cause of the problem, replaced the bad part and was ready to wrap up within an hour.  He also notice the coupon I placed on the counter top so when the printed the bill he had already included the coupon in the total.
Basically he did a great job.

He removed the old part installed the new one and tested the washer.  IT STILL DID NOT WORK. 

He called his contact and discussed how to remove the lid.  Before that, his contact suggested he tighten the lid to the connector.  He did, closed the lid and the washer has started.

The switch was not needed, unfortunately the old one was broken while being removed. I was billed about $140 and gave them a check. He left and i was generally happy.

About an hour later or less, i was driving when i got a call from the EARS office.  They had a report that I "appeared" less than thrilled that i had to pay for a part that got broken during removal.  They OFFERED to remove the cost of the part and charge only $79 for the repair. I was shocked and pleasantly suprised.  I accepted and they have a customer for life.

This was a great experience.  They actually called stating they were running early, which really helped me out.  They came out looked at my washer and fixed it within 30 minutes.  They were up front with their pricing as far as labor and the initial coming out price.  I used my Angie's List coupon so that helped!   I will use them again for sure!
