The installer showed up on time, cleaned the windows (I was also hoping that he would clean the outside but that wasn't necessary to put the film on), applied the film, caulked, gave us instructions on how to take care of it and left knowing a job was well done!

The job was well done.

We went to Home Safety Solutions and asked about the hurricane film. Pam explained how it works and gave us an estimate based on our measurements. We signed the contract and within a week Steve came to our condo to install the film. I had taken down the valances, but didn't move the furniture away from the windows. Steve took off the blinds, cleaned the windows, installed the film, and put everything back, including the valances that I took down. He came back on the next working day and finished up the application. We are very impressed with him and this company. We would definitely use them again!

I called for an estimate. The office personnel were professional, and helpful. The representative arrived at the house and was very knowledgeable and professional. There was no high pressure selling. The estimator was prompt and when the installers arrived I expected nothing but the best. I hated to spend the money but it was a necessary evil and HHS made it tolerable.

They came out the day they promised for the estimate. They installed the shutters in one day, faster than estimated, and met the estimate. They helped me to make informed decisions that saved me time and money. Excellent job.

They were fantastic. Extremely reliable. In terms of follow through and making sure the customer is satisfied, that seems to be their primary mission. They handled all problems perfectly. They were unbelievable.

It did not go well, overall. Communication was the central problem. The salesperson (Mike) didn't explain the range of product or fastener options. He showed us only the male fasteners (bolts that stick out an inch from the window frames). Female fasteners are much less obtrusive and work in wood frame houses. After installation, there were problems with the fit of the screens. They "bag" a lot, and we were told that is how they are meant to be and that we can t expect the windows not to break. We called the company repeatedly with our questions and concerns, leaving messages with the receptionists. The manager rarely called back when promised. At one point it had been 3 months since we d heard from them; we thought they had abandoned the job. Eventually they did comply with our request to change the fasteners free of charge, but they did not give us compensation for the job taking almost 7 months. We regret using this vendor and wish we better researched the product options.

From his personality, I was quite impressed. However, not so much that I was willing to pay $1,400.00 more for similar products. . . So, regretfully, this firm did not get my business. Instead, I opted to work with Window & Shutter Designs Corp. Based on my experience with sales staff alone (if price had not been a factor), Dave Braund was much more impressive in his knowledge, presentation, and use of samples to demonstrate the pros and cons of various products than the firm who did get the job. But the bottom line counts. . .

This company is one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with. I' m still amazed that they arranged all appointments and manufacture of all materials in such short time frames. The sales rep was excellent and communicated with me via telephone calls and email. They met or exceeded due dates for engineering and installation. The installers were very diligent, knowledgeable, and patient in explaining and teaching me how to manage each of the window and door solutions. This was a major concern for me and I am very comfortable that I know how I am going to put up and remove the coverings. Finally, I found their prices very competitive and their materials high quality. Other than requesting a reasonable deposit, they have never pushed for payment. In fact, I have initiated the calls to arrange billing after the work was done. They will also complete the paperwork required for the My Safe Florida Home rebate. Kudos to everyone and thanks!

I just want proof that the shutters have the codes so that I will be in compliance with Fla. state building codes. I have talked to someone at the company and they keep telling me they will send me something to confirm shutters have codes and what they are so I can file that for insurance.

I called to order the film for my 3 windows and received an appointment for 1:00 later that week. The installers arrived on time, installed the film, replaced the furniture I had moved to enable them to access the windows, and thoroughly explained what would be happening while the film cured, as well as the warranty. They were very pleasant and capable and I am completely satisfied. I would highly recommend this company.

I had searched for an installer of hurricane screening in Tampa for some time and am grateful to Home Safety Solutions for providing this service. While I wish the screening came with insurance mitigation credits, we have no doubts that it is a worthwhile investment, and it is currently the cheapeast available option for a large porch or Florida room. The work was done on-time, within budget, and competently, and the staff showed how to put up the screening when a storm is imminent.

THIS COMPANY REFLECTS POORLY ON ANGIES LIST SERVICE, IT WAS BASED ON THAT RECOMMENDATION I SELECTED THEM.

Lady on the phone was very rude. They are supposed to call back. I wouldn't go with them if they did because of her.

IT WAS A VERY CLEAN, SATISFACTORY TRANSACTION. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE COMPANY.

IT TOOK 3 MONTHS AND NUMEROUS CALLS ON OUR PART TO GET ANY RESULT--WELL INTO HURRICANE SEASON. ALL SORTS OF EXCUSES. EVERY TIME WE INQUIRED AS TO WHEN THE SHUTTERS WOULD BE INSTALLED, WE HAD TO CALL A SPECIAL NUMBER THAT HANDLES ''PUBLIC RELATIONS CONCERNS.'' AFTER FINALLY THREATENING THEM WITH AN ATTORNEY AND 8 ON YOUR SIDE, THEY ''MIRACULOUSLY'' SHOWED UP THE FOLLOWING DAY TO INSTALL THEM. INSTALLATION IS POOR-THE PANELS ARE NOT SECURED PROPERLY. SEVERAL SHEETS OF LEXAN ARE QUITE LOOSE. WE FEAR THEY WILL NOT HOLD UP IN A STRONG WIND, LET ALONE A HURRICANE. THEIR RESPONSE:''THAT'S THE BEST WE CAN DO.'' VERY ALOOF AND INDIFFERENT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT CHEAPER AND WE WOULD HAVE HAD A LOT LESS GRIEF HAD WE JUST GONE TO A LOCAL HARDWARE CHAIN. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

WE HAD THIS INSTALLED THREE YEARS AGO, AND WE HAVE NOT HAD A WINDOW FAILURE YET THROUGH THREE HURRICANES AND IT SAVES US 5% ON OUR HOME INSURANCE. EXCELLENT SERVICE, PRODUCT, AND PEACE OF MIND. IT IS SO NICE NOT TO EVER HAVE TO BOARD UP WITH THESE STORMS. I ALSO SAVE ABOUT $50 A MONTH ON MY ELECTRIC BILLS WITH THIS TINT. GREAT PRODUCT AND SERVICE.

THEIR PRICES WERE EXPENSIVE AND I HAD NOT PLANNED ON SPENDING THAT MUCH. I WILL SHOP AROUND BEFORE I MAKE A DECISION.

THOUGH IT TOOK SEVERAL WEEKS TO SCHEDULE THE INITIAL ESTIMATE, THE COMPANY DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF EXPEDITING THIS ORDER, I CALLED THEM AFTER THE OFFICIAL START OF HURRICANE SEASON, SO IT WAS VERY BUSY. DESPITE THIS THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE MATERIALS MADE AND INSTALLED IN ONLY ABOUT SEVEN WEEKS FROM THE ORDER TIME RATHER THAN 10-12 WEEKS NORMAL WAIT TIME PRINTED ON THE ORDER FORM. THEY LABELED THE PANELS AND GAVE ME A DRAWING OF MY HOUSE WITH ALL WINDOWS NUMBERED, EVEN THOUGH I ONLY ORDERED SHUTTERS FOR THREE. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE HURRICANE SHUTTERS BUSINESS IS ONE NOTORIOUS FOR CON MEN AROUND THIS TIME OF YEAR. THERE IS APPARENTLY A SHORTAGE OF ALUMINUM, SO IT HELPED THAT I WAS GETTING LEXAN SHUTTERS, WHICH I RECOMMEND, THEY'RE CLEAR SO YOU CAN LEAVE THEM UP WITHOUT BLOCKING OUT THE LIGHT AND LOOKING ''BOARDED UP.''

FROM START TO FINISH I HAVE NOTHING BUT THE HIGHEST COMPLIMENTS FOR THIS COMPANY. THE REP WHO CAME TO MEASURE AND GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE, (MR. BALDWIN,) WAS PROMPT AND EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE PRODUCT. ALL PHASES OF THE INSTALLATION WERE EXPLAINED TO ME. I WAS GIVEN SAMPLES OF THE PRODUCT TO INSPECT AND IT'S FEATURES WERE CLEARLY EXPLAINED. THE CREW THAT CAME OUT TO DO THE JOB ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND IMMEDIATELY WENT OVER THE WORK TO BE DONE WITH ME. THEY MADE SURE THAT THEY KNEW WHAT I EXPECTED TO HAVE DONE. THE GENTLEMEN WERE VERY METICULOUS ABOUT ALL ASPECTS OF THE INSTALLATION. THEY EXPLAINED TO ME STEP BY STEP WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO AND MADE CERTAIN THAT I KNEW THAT THE GASKETS INSTALLED ON THE EDGES OF THE FILM ON THE SLIDERS WOULD NOT SET COMPLETELY FOR 24HRS AND TO KEEP THE PETS AWAY FROM IT. THEY ALSO TOOK CARE NOT TO LET MY PETS OUT WHEN THEY OPENED THE DOOR. ON COMPLETION THEY CLEANED UP EVERYTHING.

NOT IMPRESSED THUS FAR. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A COMMON MISTAKE - PARTICULARLY IN THIS INDUSTRY, BECAUSE THEY'RE SWAMPED DUE TO LAST YEARS HURRICANES - I CAN OVERLOOK IT, IF THEY EVER CALL ME BACK TO RESCHEDULE. BUT THEY ARE WORKING WITH 2 STRIKES AGAINST THEM.

DAVID WAS VERY PLEASANT AND SOLD US ON THE COMPANY IMMEDIATELY WHEN WE MET HIM AT THE ST. PETERSBURG HOME SHOW. OUR ESTIMATE WAS SCHEDULED FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER WE CALLED THE COMPANY. DAVE CALLED AND TRIED TO CANCEL OUR APPOINTMENT ON THE DAY WE WERE EXPECTING HIM AS HE FELT THEY WERE BOOKED TOO FAR IN ADVANCE FOR INSTALLATIONS. WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM DO OUR INSTALLATIONS BUT AT THIS TIME THEY ARE BOOKED FIVE MONTHS OUT AND NOT GUARANTEEING THE PRICES AT THAT TIME.
