Roman-
The owner Roman was great. He came out during the design and proposal process. We had 3 contractors bid our job. Roman was the only contractor to listen to all of our needs, wants and requests. He was very accommodating and easy to work with. I am in the service industry myself and our company motto is if we make a mistake, we own it, and explain how we will fix it. Roman and his crew did just that, we had a few unexpected bumps as with any construction project. Roman has very good communication skills and his sub-contractors are top-notch. They kept mostly to their timelines with the exception of mother nature showing up as in Florida she often does. Our project came out better than expected and my family loves it. I couldn't be more happy and satisfied for choosing Five Star Pools to build our pool. I would recommend them and use them again if needed.

I am shocked to read this review after we give customer free extra items included re-drill baby fence which they forget add to contract and share cost with customer to help them.. After all big size job was start on time and finish on time . We are constantly on job site make sure our workers doing high quality job and definitely not deserve to be rated less then A in all categories . Where is fairness in this reviews web site ?"

We contact [Member Information Removed] day before exactly 3 weeks and [Member Information Removed] refuse [Member Information Removed] work and delay [Member Information Removed] day to next week . The other week was bad [Member Information Removed] for 4 days and [Member Information Removed] keep calling why we don't starting work .Some time they call me in middle of day that they [Member Information Removed] 1 hour no rain and try tell me that we suppose to work but there was other rain on way in few minutes .I am responsible for my workers safety . After rain stopped job was finish in 3 days . I explained [Member Information Removed] that in heavy rain work is not possible. Consider we literally get calls 5 times a day from this [Member Information Removed] during that rain days screaming at me or left rude vice massages and we [Member Information Removed] answer them all I don't know how review and up F rated and how this [Member Information Removed] consider our quality is F when all screen enclosure are build based on engineering plans and we go extra miles to sleeve screws to prevent them and warranty this for 10 years for [Member Information Removed]. And I do this for 12 years and did not [Member Information Removed] call back ! This review obviously is some kind of revenge . I [Member Information Removed] only one message to this [Member Information Removed] : you [Member Information Removed] very quality product from Five [Member Information Removed] Pool on your back yard and you should enjoy it . "Hello, Thank you for review . I would like remind that any time customer ask using credit card payment we automatically inform them about convenient fees . So if you choose use this method of payment you were aware of this charge and choose to use it . Also please note when pool light showing any imperfection in pool finishes - pool finishes should be inspected only on day light with full sun exposure - this is also statement in Florida Plaster Council as industry standard procedures. "Contract with Mr. [Member Name Removed] start on $39,800 and end $50,500. All additional items was provide as written estimate and was approved with customer. Hard to believe if customer would not like our job quality or price of our work there would not be any additional items. Mr. [Member Name Removed] try do some part of demolitions or small installations on his own to safe some money , unfortunately with his job overseas it lead to time delays and also extra work to Five Star Pool to finish it after him.Job took 6 month according to our records cost buy slow invoice payment from customer side , delays during making decisions on additional items and extra permitting for this additional items. Just to choose right waterfall took Mr. [Member Name Removed] and his wife 38 days. When all this together was going on they did not want to hear from contractor they are actually reason why some part of job not moving forward due to wait for their decisions. So they start looking for any problems to accuse Five Star Pool from dragging job or not to do quality job.If there was any concerns due to Five Star Pool related work Roman always personally come meet with customer to make sure all work is done as it suppose to be. But all this is absolutely normal for size of project they had going on at their back yard . I know construction can be lot of stress and frustration but in the end it should all be worth it. I try edducate as much I can Five Star Pool customers about construction job process . Mr. [Member Name Removed] has his idea how thinks should go or try dictate me how much things should cost. After all job was finish 100% and was paid in full and there is beautiful Five Star Pool on back yard of Mr. [Member Name Removed] residence . - Pavers holding moisture due to water getting through unfilled spaces between pavers and creating white marks around coping and pavers

"Five Star Pool can not agree on complains of ms. [member name removed] since pool was done to higher standard of installation work as usually. - there was not change to estimate for sealing job /[member name removed] ask to add it to contract ( sealing job is not part of pavers installation ) - there is no damage or discolored pavers / if stains or calcium build ups happened from pool chemicals and rain it is subject to maintenance to keep it clean - yes we cut water pipe below deck during installing dec-o-drain / common issue since no one can see this utilities below deck / Five Star Pool inform [member name removed] same day and repair pipe for no cost -there was not problem with miscommunication on Five Star Pool side / [member name removed] was calling some days 10 times to ask abut progress of project a day and this phone calls was answered same day -note about dec-o-drain / ms. [member name removed] 3 times ask Five Star Pool to install and then remove dec-o-drain located on her outside screen deck after that we choose love it in place and there was no additional charge apply to invoice -there is no uneven or unleveled pavers installation done consider quality of pavers itself over all Five Star Pool did come back and replace marked pavers by customer even that was not part of contract -there is only 1 type of send - quartz to use for pavers / don't know what is wrong sand note from [member name removed] regarding to -again note about lose sand / sand is always lose in standard pavers installation and it have may be wash out during heavy rains / how ever we have method how this can be prevent and upgrade installation was offer to customer who did not choose this method -pavers / sand will always hold moisture unless upgrade methods are use / which customer refuse it -there is no cracked concrete at patio / and customer attached photo shows have mold grow on footer for pavers which is concrete natural detierator and should be washed to prevent concrete from fading - there is not lose or hollow pavers Over all owner Roman Huf was 11 times after project was done and walk thru over finish job with customer and final payment collect / call back to additional questions or concerns and Roman personally educate customer about items which was concern and advice proper care need to be done on install product which customer need to do. Five Star Pool come back 5 times provide additional work and upgrade work on [member name removed] project for no extra cost but that was about as much Five Star Pool could help to this customer .. many days [member name removed] was very happy about work we were doing for her and on same day she was acting very unhappy about same stuff too so this acting was least say strange because it was happening pretty much on daily basses and I was never sure what is it regarding to ...... and reading ms. [member name removed] reviews which made me very said after all good work we did for her and extra attention we pay to her project / it did also raise question if she has choose my company with rating of price 'F' which she knows on front made only raise other questions ...."
I should note we started with a pool that had dark green water and was obviously not maintained for years.
We spent about 3 months just controlling (getting rid of) the "green" while the house remodel was underway.
We started by getting bids from about 6 different pool contractors and narrowed it down to 3. The work was to include removing all the existing marcite as it was separating from the underneath layer and removing and replacing all waterline tile. As part of the remodel we also had to repair a 20' x 6' section of decking in the back corner of the pool that had dropped and caused a separation of the deck from the pool shell. This was a good size gap/crack that would leak when the water level was high enough.
We also had the glass block wall separating the spa from the pool replaced with a solid wall with a granite spill over.
We also pursued quotes from numerous aluminum contractors for re-screening or rebuilding or replacing the existing pool cage that was in horrible condition.
We ended up selecting Five Star pool for the following reasons:
1) They made me feel the most comfortable with the method they would pursue to replace the failed deck area.
2) They were willing to provide a firm price for the removal of the entire Marcite surface. Most builders would only provide a price per sqft. 5Star provided a similar sqft price but also provided a very good price to remove the entire surface. It was important to me to know my worst case scenario for this cost.
3) They provided the lowest price to replace the entire screen cage.
4) lastly, they provided the best package price to do all the work.
Once we selected 5Star pools they started the demo work within 3 weeks. They established excellent and frequent communications from the office, field supervisor and the owner.
All workers and crews were excellent. They were courteous and friendly and generally cleaned up after themselves. While we inquired on a few minor issues, they were handled expeditiously and the work progressed well.
We had the following done as part of the pool/patio remodel:
- removed all of the previous marcite surface at the committed price
- remodeled steps into pool adding a fourth step
- installed new mini-pebble surface
- selected option to remove the glass block wall and replace with solid wall and granite spillover
- selected option to replace the pool lighting
- selected option to add a SS handrail going down the step area (there was none before)
- selected option to removed/replaced waterline tile
- selected option to install new pool coping and deck pavers
- selected option to remove and replace the entire pool cage including super gutters.
The basic pricing was very fair as was the pricing of the options provided at my request. Having built three previous pools I was being very cautious to fully understand the pricing provided and the work being committed to. 5 Star made it easy by exhibiting great integrity and thoroughness. They followed it up with great quality and follow-thru.
We are as happy as we could be with our new pool patio area. Five star pools took an area of the home that came close to making us walk away from the purchase and turned it into a part of the home we are now very proud of.
