Coastline Windows And Doors

I gave owner James Monteagut of Coastline Windows and Doors $2300.00 for a deposit at the end of September 2017. I was told the windows were ordered 5-6 weeks later he called to come see the windows because supposedly the engineer had questions. When he arrived he measured the windows and called me the next day to ask me which way left or right I wanted my windows to open. When I asked the office manager why these questions were coming up 5-6 weeks later she gave me the run around and nobody could give me a date the windows would arrive. I spoke with James again in November and he told me the windows would arrive December 1st. December 1st came and went. I allowed three more weeks to go by and I received a letter stating that Coastline Windows and Doors could not install my windows. I received a check for the deposit money signed by James Monteagut. I went to the bank it was drawn on which happens to be my bank too. Check was no good due to insufficient funds it could not be cashed. I attempted to call the office at Coastline Windows and Doors but the phone was out of order. I remembered that James cell phone number was on the website so I called him on his cell phone. I left a message stating that I was going to go to the Police Station if I did not hear back from him. He called me back admitted that their were insufficient funds in his bank account and promised me a cashiers check. I had posted a review on Yelp and he stated that he wished I had waited to hear from him which was laughable after 13 weeks of waiting and waiting. So I told him I would delete the review if he brought me my money . He stated he would bring it to me personally. I deleted the review. That was a week ago have not seen or heard from him. I went to the police station on Friday. I am going to call the attorney generals office and everybody and any body I can. Beware of James Monteagut and Coastline windows and Doors.

Sean was terrific but he is no longer with the company. The actual owner was somewhat rude and shouted at his work crew incessantly. Very unkind. They honored their estimate. A measurement was donor incorrectly and they had to order a different door Which ended up costing more. The timeframe went way over the original estimate...we ran into a problem that they were not responsible for once demolition was done but left us hanging on potential fixes....

Coastline was one of three contractors I considered for a replacement of my home windows. They were very professional and responsive and were the first to show me the manufacturer product line which I eventually selected. Their initial price was higher than a competitor, however, they matched the competitor's price. I ultimately selected the other competitor based on recommendations here on Angie's list, but I had very good experience with Coastline.
