This was a $59 big deal purchase. They could have been more professional to complete the job in a timely manner. I guess the workers were unprofessional. It rained that day and the guy did not feel like being outside so he just decided to cut the job short. I said okay, then I will just cut my ties with you.

Called Pure Air because the air conditioner was not cooling. The service man called Mike to set up an appointment to see about getting a new air conditioner, He came out the same evening and set up an insulation for the next day. The installers did a great job. There was a small problem but it was handled with no problem. We are very pleased with the job they did. Great personal to work with. Would use them again.

"I reached out to this customer. We were there over a year ago. The customer has a 15 year old system that is completely out of refrigerant. We completed our obligation for the purchase of the big deal on Angie's List. After speaking with the customer she seemed very upset with a handyman, not us. stuck a thermometer into the a/c return and wasn't going to plug the hole.  Other than that he seemed to know what he was doing and completed the service to the a/c.

It went fine. The service included one pound of refrigerant and he noticed that it was going to be a little bit over that. Because I was an Angie's List member, he did not charge me extra. I thought that was good. He was very professional and took the time to explain quite a few things to me. Checking the heating system was not included, even though it's an extension of the unit. I found out my heating did not work. I checked to see what it included because I thought maybe he forgot to do that. But he did not.

Although the technicians have all been nice, this job has been nothing but a disaster. After the new unit was put in (10/2014), it couldn't keep the temperature I set it to. My expectations were realistic, I simply asked it to keep my house at 77 during the day. Seems simple, right? After many, many, many months of complaining, multiple different techs at my house and repeated unreturned phone calls I ended up speaking to the owner (left him more than one message before getting a response). Eventually they discovered they sold me the wrong size unit - I wasn't making it up after all! They did end up replacing the unit with the correct size, 9 months later (07/2015)!! Currently I am still having problems with the drain line from the unit and a problem with the "top of the line" thermostat. I had a technician out over a month ago (11-12/2015). I asked him how to solve the drain line problem. He gave me two options, and I decided I was interested in running a new drain line. He stated that Mike, the owner, would be the one to tell me the cost. I told him twice to please make sure someone gets back to me on this. He said Mike would but to give him a week. I have yet to hear an answer. I called Mike (01/2016) and left a message on his cell phone (after waiting for several weeks). It has been over a week since my last message and yet again, no return call. I understand things not working correctly, I understand things breaking down, what I don't understand is being blatantly ignored. Beware, once they sell you the unit, you are on your own unless you fight tooth and nail!



In response to Mike's statement: I have absolutely stated the facts and nothing more. I left two messages on the office phone prior to calling his cell phone and leaving him a direct message (during the most recent problem). I would happily provide proof of this to Angie's List were there the option to do so. My original complaint in 2014 was that the AC didn't keep up - thus the need for a new air conditioning unit. Furthermore, in July 2015 Mike acknoweldged that the technician didn't size the unit correctly and had incorrectly assumed my house was smaller than it was. In his response to me here he again acknowledges that a 3 ton unit is not large enough for my house. It is the HVAC companies responsibility to determine the correct AC size, not mine. I did receive a quote from one other company, I don't know if Mike saw that quote or not but quite frankly, it is irrelevant. Many people/companies within the same field will take different approaches to the same problem. They are each responsible for doing the work/quote correctly. I clearly stated that they replaced the unit with the correct size but apparently didn't specify that they did not charge me any more. That is true, and unfortunately seems to be what Mike is focused on. I still paid for the original unit, but did not pay anything additional for the correct size unit in July 2015. My complaint is (and remains) the lack of returning phone calls, lack of listening to the problem, and the length of time and many hours of me chasing them down it took to remedy the problem. Since leaving this review Mike called me yelling at me and berating me. He has stated that he will not fix the unit until I remove my review. He has stated that I am trashing him and he won't do business with people like me... Not exactly the approach I would have taken with a dissatisfied customer. I never intended to leave a negative review. I generally try to give people the benefit of the doubt but unreturned phone calls became such a repetitive problem I felt I had to say something. I actually had every intention of updating my review with a better "grade" after the unit was working properly but after being yelled at, blamed for the problem, and essentially blackmailed into removing the review, I couldn't. I would also like to note that I have left MANY other reviews on Angie's List and all except one have been positive "A" reviews. I am clearly not the annoying hypersensitive type that complains about everything. As I previously stated, people make mistakes. We all do. I am no exception to that, and I understand things happening due to an error or even something beyond our control. How we handle those mistakes is what speaks to our character.

"This customer doesn't acknowledge that we put in a bigger system FOR FREE. They had a three tons there originally, they were quoted a three ton system from every other contractor, the three ton was never big enough for the house. My best guess is that the previous owner had found a used condenser on craigslist and had it installed to sell the home. Zillow reports that the Snow's bought the house in 2014. So, Pure Air took the system we originally installed out and installed a bigger new system FOR FREE. Let's state all of the facts please.
