Florida Solar & Air

I had a good experience with Florida Solar & Air. They came out on time. They did their work. There was some issue that involved the windows and they came back and corrected it. They were timely and did the job the way they were supposed to. They explained what they were doing and provided all the information we needed to know. We had checked with a couple of other companies and their price was fair. They had a good product and that's why we chose them.

I submitted an online request for an impact window replacement project. I then received numerous phone calls from the company. I was trying to put my infant daughter down for a nap and the phone was ringing off the hook. They would call, hang up on my voicemail, and instantly call again. After the 4th consecutive call I answered and told the agent I was no longer interested. I received more calls later and I told the agent that I wasn't interested anymore because I was basically being harrased by all their phone calls. The agent told me in quite an unfriendly tone, that when I submitted my phone number to them on line I made it accessible for these calls. They still continue to call, despite my telling 2 additional agents that I am not interested. I have so far received 8 phone calls and an email since I submitted the inquiry less than 48 hours ago.

Everything was smooth from beginning to end and they were very businesslike and professional.

Job included low-e impact glass. Inside surface of outer pane was supposed to be tinted to match condo regulations (and to ensure that no damage would be done to the film by cleaners as the film was supposed to be in between the two panes of glass and not on the outside surface of the interior pane of glass). There were some communication issues that had been resolved subsequent to my first review of the company. The floor to ceiling doors and picture window have now been tinted with ceramic tint, 40% light transmission and look great. As this was the only complaint with the windows to begin with, I would reconsider Florida Solar and Air to complete the job next year. As in all aspects of life, communication is always a make or break issue. In my situation, the lack of communication served as a magnifying glass for other issues that were apparently routine but never communicated. As was originally explained to me by my salesman Joe, the company has stood by their work months after the job was completely paid for. I am thankful that everything is now resolved and as in my initial review, the quality of the work was fantastic. I'm just going to chalk things up to experience and like I mentioned above, I am willing to give them a second chance on the remaining 3 rooms with 4 banks of floor to ceiling windows in them. The owner of the company was very responsive to my concerns and there were positive changes made in my case with regards to customer relations. This was the second "job" that I did with Florida Solar and Air based on Angie's List recommendation. I'd give FSA a B+ for problem resolution.

Great service. Delivered everything they promised. Fast and dependable service. I would definitely recommend.

Our pool area is not only shaded but screened in and our pool being large would rarely be used because the water was too cold for our comfort.  We were more than pleased with the warmed water in our pool and our guest rarely complained.  On the contrarily they seemed pleasantly surprised that the water was warm and relaxing. 
I highly recommend this company not only have they been around for a long time but they are extremely reliable and responsible whenever you have questions.

Joe Muller the sales man/manager was first class. No pressure, good presentation, very helpful in obtaining a government backed 0% interest loan. Nice helpful guy.

The installers arived at 12 noon introduced themselfs and explained in detail why they were here and what they will be doing. they asked to see the current A/C system and then explained to me what they will be doing . These guys were extremely professional quite and did and exceptional job. They even asked for a broom to clean up the dust and trash they created. They inspected the old system to make sure there were no hidden or unforseen problems and they communicated with each other as to what need to be done and how, again these guys were extremely professional and they demonstrated a professional atmosphere in their communication to me and my wife,when we had questions they took time and listen and explain everything to us.Before leaving they ask again if we had any questions about anythig,they went to great length to demonstrate how to operat the new system and explain to us what it's caabilites are. I'm very impressed with this installation crew and Florida Solar & Air

One word: NIGHTMARE.

The consultant that I met with was great. I got other quotes from other companies; however, I felt the most comfortable with Florida Solar and Air because they had great reviews, did not sub-contract out, and they appeared extremely organized. It all went downhill from there. The window installers showed up at my house on the day of the installation and immediately began to complain (in front of me) that they had to carry the heavy windows up stairs (I have a two story townhouse). They proceeded to make sarcastic remarks and complained to each other. It took about 6 hours to install my kitchen window, which was the smallest of them all because the windows were measured incorrectly..about 1 inch too big. That did not stop them, they cut the concrete of my house to make the windows fit.

At the end of the second day, all the windows were in; however, there was alot of cosmetic work to be completed inside and outside; as well as my old sliding glass doors and windows on the side of the house for garbage. I went back and forth with the main installer probably for about 2 weeks for him to come back to my house to finish the job. He ended up coming 3 times (on his own time) to complete some of the work. I had to remind him to pick up the garbage on the side of my house because my home owners association was complaining about it. At the end of the third week, I was fed up and annoyed that I had to keep calling for the work to be completed, I was told it would be a 6 day job (according to my contract). I ended up contacting the supervisor and he responded to my house and I showed him all the issues that were left behind, I had a list of about 15 things.

The City of Plantation responded for the insepction and looked at one window and could not believe what he saw. There were NO screws holding the metal frame into the house. Needless to say, it failed inspection.

I then contacted one of the owners of the company and expressed my utter dissapointment with the company. Four weeks later, my windows finally passed inspection. Words can not express the headache, stress, and dissapointment that this company has been for me. I am totally unsatisfied with a few things on every single window and door that they installed. I have to hire a friend, that is a handy man, to clean up and fix the mess that they left behind. They made no attempt to compensate me or make me feel like a valued customer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.


***The day after I posted this review the owner of the company personally contacted me and was utterly shocked at the review and issues that I had with the company. He was sympathetic and spoke to me for over 45 minutes to hear about every issue that I had. In the end he responded to my house and reviewed the work and also reimburse me 10%, which was not excepted. He went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer and apologized for the experience that I went through. Although the experience was a headache, once the owners and supervisors of the company were involved, I felt better about the experience and appreciated their compassion.***

They were the 4th company we got an estimate from. The representative was very knowledgeable, and helped to point us in the right direction. We opted to go with them and the unit was installed the following Monday and has worked perfectly since. I am now looking for estimates to replace my condo's windows with impact windows and have an appointment for this weekend. I'm hoping that they can do Condo units.

They explained everything that they could do for me. They said that everything they did would be to my satisfaction was their general outlook. They came when they said they would. He seemed knowledgeable. I would recommend this company.

It went very well. The task was completed quickly,professionally, and reasonably priced.

They were okay and appropriate. They came on time. I am relatively happy with the work that they did. The product has been okay, but it has only been a month, so, it is hard to judge yet.

After some disagreement the job was performed to my satisfaction

Just as it was described.  No surpises.

Everything was handled professionally.

.They had a problem with the bay window. They had to order a different one because it was made wrong. They got the correct one and installed it.

They came out very promptly and did a great job. We were very impressed with the work that they completed.
