Great service great knowledge very helpful

I purchased a Big Deal and noted my appointment preferences. They accommodated me nicely, arrived at the appointed time, and performed the cleaning. In the process, they checked everything up and down with their camera equipment and noted several issues, some big, some not so big. I was right there through the whole visit, looking at the camera screen and asking a million questions. I'm a skeptic by nature, but since we'd bought our 22 year-old house "as is" and I'm confident the chimney had never had any servicing, I was ready for anything. The chimney's condition was about what I'd expected: water penetration, mortar joint erosion, cracked damper, and improper chimney cap. The Chimney Company prepared a prioritized estimate. I decided to have our water issue dealt with before it got any worse, so we purchased a "3-stage water treatment." We also replaced our improperly installed (and incorrect size) chimney cap with a "lock-top damper." Time will tell if the water treatment's all it's touted to be; the new damper seems like a clear winner--zero drafts or cold air.

Cleaning was very quick and clean - no mess whatsoever! Unfortunately, neither chimney passed inspection and it will be significantly expensive to repair them. This was not unexpected and we just have to decide when to do the work now.
