The Grove Handyman

As an association board member, I was looking for a licensed and insured handyman, who would be available when we needed repairs for our 4 floor, 30-unit building. They needed to be responsible and experienced in a multitude of jobs. I also needed someone who would also be available for a unit owner if needed. I got calls asking what I needed to fix and what I wanted to pay but no one would come out to SEE what needed to be done. Roger Camacho of The Grove Handyman called me and came over to look over our building. He handed me copies of his certification and insurance then sent me a quote. He did his first job; replacing over 125 lightbulbs in the building, including the garage. He cleaned each fixture, fixed what needed fixing and replaced each bulb. Everyone noticed the difference! He was persistent in resolving a leaky window that flooded a unit. Not a drop through the rainy season. Roger communicates well and responds to calls. He is responsible, honest and a talented person when it comes to resolving problems. He redid my master bath, took out the old whirlpool tub, removed the old tile floor and replaced all the wallboard. From electrical to plumbing to retiling the tub area and the floor, I am in love with my new bathroom. I cannot express the trust and respect I have for his character and integrity. I will never hesitate to recommend Roger to anyone.

Roger Camacho, Owner of the The Grove Handyman has been a top Angie's List source for many years. Damage to my two custom wood front gates and the need to get hurricane panels installed, brought to mind all the other tasks that needed to be done. Roger met with me to review my scope of work and within a couple of days of consistent, on time, quality workmanship, he accomplished everything! Roger, and his colleagues, are knowledgeable professionals, very polite and showed great consideration in the way they left my property tidy after each completed task. I am very impressed. I know he does much larger custom exterior/interior remodeling and I have finally found the person I want to work with on my future interior upgrades. I highly recommend The Grove Handyman, they are wonderful!

A lot of work was accomplished at my 1950’s house without a hitch. The work involved an acid bath of the pool tiles. Two bathroom fixes such as a new vanity and toilet installed. And a complete kitchen remodel. Demolition to final product accomplished in less than four weeks. The kitchen cabinetry. Installed by Precision Kitchen Concepts is just that precise. Everyone Roger does business with are top notch. All of the workers were professional, pleasant and respectful of our home and pet. Thank you again Roger!

Updated review. Grove Handyman, Roger Comacho, return on Tuesday, January 29 and satisfactorily completed the repairs

My ceiling had substantial water damage due to a major plumbing leak in my condo, so much so that a large portion of my ceiling had to be replaced. I called Roger and he was quick to respond, he showed up exactly when he said he would and looked the problem over. The issues this place was having with the plumbing and drywall work required a professional to fix the problem. He repaired all damages in a very short period of time to brand new condition, I was impressed by not only the turnaround time but the outstanding quality of the repairs. I rate his services excellent due to professionalism and a high degree of proficiency in home repair. I would definitely recommend his services for any of your jobs. I've included pics of the damage and work done.

Too expensive for small jobs like door hinges repair. $200 minimum to come out.

Roger, Chad and Kenny were the best! First, Roger was extremely responsive. I called the day after the leak began and he came by that morning to assess the damage and how he can help. This was the first repair work I needed on my house and I really didn't know who to call but I am so glad to have found these guys. These guys are very knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be contacting Grove Handyman again!

Never heard from the "company"

We love it! It is exactly what we wanted. The job was was completed within 1 week and involved crews of varying size. All workers were professional, prompt, and respectful of our home and pet. We will definitely hire Roger "The Grove Handyman" again.

This company is fantastic! Their quotes were reasonable, people were professional and friendly, and work was completed beautifully and in a timely manner. I am very happy with the quality of the work and level of service that was provided. I highly recommend this company.

In late November, 2016, I contracted Roger at “The Gove Handyman” on Angie’s List to have a bathroom wall repaired following a leak in the pipes. I was quoted a good price and the appointment was arranged. The property is a unit I was preparing to rent and I was out of town, so a friend let the workers in. They were instructed to call him so he could view the work before they left. The worker called me and said the work was done. He sent me a picture after he left and after he returned the keys. He took the bathroom hardware off the wall for the repair and failed to put it back on. I contacted Roger and he informed me that the pipe for the faucet was too short. I don’t know why the worker would tell me “it’s all done,” when it obviously wasn’t. Roger said he would have to send someone else out on another day and he would have to charge me a callout fee – to complete the work his staff failed to finish. As I had a tenant moving in the next week, I had no choice. On the second appointment, a different worker said “it’s all done,” but he is the one person in North America with a cell phone that doesn’t take photos. Roger’s tone via text message after both visits was not an example of excellent customer service. He did not offer any assurance that everything was as it should be or apologize that his staff failed to complete the work properly the first time. In April, 2017, my tenant contacted the property manager to inform him that the faucet had become completely detached from the wall and pipe. The property manager left a voicemail for Roger, but he never called back. I called the next day and my call went to voicemail as well. The greeting stated that Roger would be out of town from the following day. Unfortunately, before he went out of town, he never returned my or the property manager’s call. We had to hire another contractor to fix the inadequate work done by the Grove Handyman staff. I emailed Roger and explained the situation and provided him with a copy of the charges incurred to fix the faucet again as well as a photo. Roger refused to compensate me because he thought the charge of $260 was too high and because he didn’t see it himself. This entire situation has been completely unacceptable. The original job was not completed. I was charged additional fees to complete the job on a second visit. The work performed was not done correctly and only lasted 4 months. And I was not compensated or refunded for having to hire another company. I strongly advise against hiring “The Grove Handyman” for any work. The company is a typical South Florida contractor that does shoddy work, doesn’t communicate properly and doesn’t stand behind their work.

As a property owner of several homes over the past 40 years, I can say that I have never been so satisfied with the work on my home by Grove Handyman.

Overall, Roger is a true professional with wide knowledge of how to best address and resolve the issues in the best manner possible. Since the first day we met he was very punctual in explaining to me the work and providing me with a fair quote a few days later. He has an excellent team to backup his promise on quality and timely service. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.

Everything went great. I got a detailed quotation. They picked up my new tiles from the warehouse for me, showed up everyday for two weeks exactly when they said they would. Extreme attention to detail and pride of work. Final price was as quoted. Final product is excellent and the whole crew were very professional and pleasant.
