I brought them out to my office for an evaluation of my problem: ants. After several months of trying to get rid of these ants, the technician came in with a supervisor only to follow up and tell me that this particular kind of ant required an additional charge in order to get rid of them. Really? The supervisor was the original guy who gave me the estimate, - saw the actual ants, and now all of a sudden, there's a surcharge??? I understand that termites and rodents deserve special treatment and special fees involved, but now ants? I abandoned this company and will never use them again. I have since found a much better company where ALL ANTS are included, without 'surprise surcharges'!~

Scheduling was an issue. Sometimes they would show up when I was not home. There was one good one who came once, but none after that. I would not use this company again.

I had used them for many, many years. They used to always come out on time. I used to pay them on each visit. They later increased the price without telling me. I didn't like that at all. I stopped using them and canceled my service because I couldn't afford them. There were still cockroaches when they left.

I am unsure to how much he charges, my landlord covers it. Whatever he does charge, he is worth it. He is responsive and comes out around our schedule.

It was a horrible experience overall. The guy came on the 18th started then asked if he could come back and finish the job on that friday because it was too hot for him outside. We felt bad so we agreed for him to come at the set time 1pm on friday for him to finish the job. Waited around til 3pm had to call the actual 1800 number to ask where he was. He finally showed up around 4pm telling us he was going to fumigate the outside and take down the wasp nests that were over the front door. We went outside after a few minutes and he was gone and the wasp nests were still there. So we called again he said he'd come back sunday to finish but he never came. I called monday again (the 1800#) and complained, they said they would send him over with his boss because each area has their own tech so that they would send him with his boss to assure the job was properly completed. The manager ended up coming by himself and completed the job except for the wasp nests, finally after many phone calls. It was taking them so long to deal with the wasps nests that I had to hire someone else to come deal with them. I will never deal with orkin again.

I have been using them for a really long time, for years. There are plenty of bugs in the south but I don't have any in my house because they take care of it very nicely. They were so nice that when I needed an exterminator for one of my tenants that I had, they actually went up there, exterminated and just mailed me the bill because I just didn't leave them any money. They are a nice company. They realized that they leave me the bill and it gets paid so I guess in customers like that they have a trust. It was nice that I didn't have to drive 50 minutes to meet an exterminator.

They gave us discount when we told them that we found them through the Angie's list. They were very professional and great. We terminated the contract with the previous company that we used to go with them. The guy came out on time and he was very knowledgeable. He took a look and told us what was going on. He noticed something called as white fly which was eating our tree. He made an appointment for a Saturday. Two of them came out, one of them did the interior spray and the other did the exterior. It's a great company and we are pleased with them. They maintain a calendar in their computer system and they call us every month to fix the appointment. They care about the customers. They have Saturday hour which is very convenient.

I was experiencing an ant invasion at my home after the rains started in the summer. I had not used a pest control service in several years; so I contacted A Vanish Pest Control based on other positive AL reviews. The phone staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to schedule service for the following day. Herman, the Service Technician, was delayed at his prior appointment(s), and arrived late by a couple hours for my appointment. It happens, so rolled with it. Herman clearly explained the nature of my ant problem and advised that I probably would have to treat the exterior of the property due to the large presence of ants observed. Herman was very thorough and took the time to ensure he applied the treatment effectively. I did have a follow up interior treatment about 10 days later at no charge as well as the recommended lawn spray ($60 charge). It has taken about 3 weeks since the initial spraying, but my ant problem seems solved and am very pleased with the service I received from A Vanish Pest Control. No one wants to deal with insects, but I know who I'll call in the future.

"A-VANISH got a call from the member to get a price for lawn spray we quoted her $55 she asked about the discount from Angie's List the girl in the office made a mistake and gave here $5 off instead of the 5% in your add she agreed to the $50 charge to spray the lawn when the lawn tech was finished the member said she was only paying $45 and that the discount on Angie's List is 10% I am the owner of a-vanish and tried to call her to explain that the discount was only 5% on Angie's List I left a message and had my office send her a copy of our add in Angie's List a few days latter she called my office and said to stop harassing her the girl in the office tried to explain the owner always calls unhappy customers to find out what happened the owner has not spoken to her and we wrote off the other $5 dollars.If you look at the report on August 19 2009 you will see she was very happy with our service and shows the $50 charge and said she would hire us again the only reason for the negative report was because of the price mix up on her part. We moved out of the house and came back 36 hours later. The women who came to clean the home had to go to the emergency room. I was very sick as well. They used a deadly pesiticide. My beloved dog who had never been sick had to be rushed to the pet hospital. Both of my dogs died two years later from liver failure due to the chemical they used. This was confirmed by the veterinary. They didn't use what they were instructed to use. I had to bring in a special company to deep clean the tile floors and the walls with special equipment.

"The member called to get a price to control a tick problem we gave her a price of $75 per visit we did 2 visits one on 11/30/2004 and then again on 12/8/2004 We explained to her the process we use which is fogging the house with a food plant fog and everyone had to be out of the house for 3 hours she did not want us to fog so we did not use the fogging material we used a product called Precor 2000 you can spray couches, carpets with this product and we have never had a problem with this product the same company makes a flee and tick spray that you can spray on the dog. We are controlled by the department of agriculture and all of our products have to approved and registered by the Environmental protection agency before we can use them we have never had any problems with any of our products in the past. I do not know why she is now after 5 years putting in this report. If we did what the customer claims we would have been investigated by the department of agriculture. A-vanish has handled thousands of tick jobs in our 45 years in business and has never had a complaint like this. Hugh McDade a-vanish owner"

For the past two years we have had signs of insect frass that last for only a couple of days. We called A Vanish and set up an appointment. The exterminator looked at a sample of frass that we had kept. He used a light and high power magnifying glass. He identified the frass as coming from termites and then located where the termites were. Instead of trying to sell us on a big job like tenting the house, he told us the wood was very dense, therefore difficult for the termites to digest quickly, and not to worry about a large infestation. He treated the pin holes he found that the termites had left with an insecticide specific for termites, all at no charge! We do have an ant problem so we contracted A Vanish to come out for that problem. The exterminator was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and patiently answered all our questions.

The ants were swarming everywhere. They had to come out and fumigate the house; we had to leave for the day. A week later there were still some ants so we called them back. They came back out and took care of the ants with a second fumigate at no extra charge. They were great to work with and totally worth my money. I would recommend them and use them again. A very positive experience.

They are polite and easy to work with. They will call ahead a time and tell me they are coming. They come out monthly. When I have questions for them they respond very quickly.

The technician always shows up on time or even early and is done in 15 minutes. If we find bugs within 7-10 days after they spray, they will come back at no charge and spray again. The technician is always very friendly and efficient.

I had a terrible problem with bugs. They came out twice to try to deal with this. The man that come the second time told me that he thought that they were in the wall and they would have to drill holes in the walls. He told me he would talk his supervisor and they would send someone to do the drilling and spray inside the wall. Someone did come to my door and then told he would be back but never returned. I called them and they never returned my call and I have not heard from them since. The worker they sent out the first two times was wonderful. The way the company did not follow through with what was said was terrible. It is hard to weigh out the two. The only way I would use them again is if it was resolved.

MY TECH DID THIS TO HELP THE CUSTOMER. AS FOR THE PEST CONTROL, WE DID THE FIRST SERVICE ON 4/21/2008 WHEN THERE WAS STILL A PROBLEM, WE GAVE THE CUSTOMER A TROUBLE CALL ON 5/6/2008 AT NO CHARGE. THEN WE WENT BACK OUT AGAIN ON 5/12/2008 AGAIN AT NO CHARGE. A-VANISH CONTRACT STATES THAT WE WILL COME OUT FREE OF CHARGE IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS OF THE INITIAL SERVICE IN THIS CASE WE WENT OUT TWICE. WE HAVE TO HAVE A POLICY OR WE GET SOME CUSTOMERS THAT CALL FOR A FREE SERVICE AND THEN CANCEL THE NEXT PAYING SERVICE. WE WORK VERY HARD HERE AT A-VANISH TO MAKE SURE WE GIVE THE BEST SERVICE POSSIBLE AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. WE HAVE NO RECORD OF THIS CUSTOMER TRYING TO CONTACT USE AFTER THE 5/12/2008 TROUBLE CALL. HUGH MCDADE PRESIDENT"
