Montero's Tree Service

My 92 year old Mother-in-law lives by herself in N. Miami Beach. Her Black Olive tree and cluster of 3 Mahogany trees were severely overgrown. While her house is near the very north end of Dade County and Montero Tree Service usually handles service south of there they took care of this for us. In the past they did a great job with our trees in the Coral Gables area. Orlando went out and went over everything with my Mother-in-law and made her feel very comfortable about what they were going to do. They gave a detailed estimate and we accepted. They even squeezed us into their very busy schedule due to how much the trees hung over her house and what might happen in a severe storm. Mr. Montero and his crew did a GREAT job trimming the trees and taking down the large dead tree near the side walk which Mr. Montero pointed out could be a safety hazard and fall on someone. They ground down the stump as well. My Mother-in-law is VERY pleased with the service, how cordial and prompt they were, and how quickly they fit her into their schedule. Additionally, Laura in their office was so nice in discussing all this and accommodating us.

He came. He was very nice and very polite. The estimate was okay. I think it was fair. I think the price was high but it was better than the other one. Responsiveness was very good.

Mr. Montero, a certified arborist, was very knowledgeable about the trees and plants in my yard. He was prompt in giving me an estimate for work, which included tree and shrub trimming, weeding, and hauling all the debris away. He and his crew arrived right on time, worked hard and steadily, and Mr. Montero was on site working alongside his crew and directing them. He reviewed each area with me throughout the day, and walked around the yard with me after the work was completed. They trimmed the trees without hat-racking, they shaped the shrubs and cleaned out all of the overgrown areas of my yard; they cleaned it up beautifully, swept and raked, and hauled away all the debris. Mr. Montero is knowledgeable, careful, reliable, and professional, and his crew were hardworking, polite, and left no trash behind. I recommend Montero Tree Service, and will certainly hire him again.

We had trees that fell and it knocked down my power line. I called him and he immediately came and removed the tree. This guy is really, really good. I used them a year and a half ago and I had another issue with the tree that fell and he came here like nothing happened. He's got all the equipment and he evaluated and said he'll be here this day at 7:30 and he's there at 7:25. He's really a good guy.

Orlando and his crew arrived early, he reviewed the work to be done and his team went straight to work. They worked very well as a team and were here most of the day. This is not an easy place to trim trees as there are large mulched planted beds to work around. All the debris was neatly arranged in piles and removed without any trace that they had even been here. In addition they also trimmed back and cleaned out dead wood from another tree that was not in the original quote. In a place where mediocre service appears to be the norm it was a very pleasant experience to find a company that knows how to exceed expectations and provide exceptional service, we will most certainly use the Montero's again next year.

The main job was to prune the hugemango tree in my yard which was overflowing into the neighbor's yard. He also pruned some other trees that were out of control. The team of four men did a fantastic job. Everything looked beautiful, and the clean-up was excellent. They left no rubbish at all in my yard, and the neighbors also remarked about how clean everything was left. I also thought the price was reasonable given that it took four men a full day's work to complete the job. The owner, Orlando Montero, and his workers were very polite and respectful. I would STRONGLY recommend them.

He analyized and diagnosed my entire property. He took care of Hurricane trimming, medicated some sick palms. Removed dead wood. Cleaned everything off my roof and cleaned my gutters - he did way more than I expected- I was very happy.

We scheduled our work for approx. 2-3 weeks after we received our estimate. Pleasantly, we received an e-mail the day before scheduled, confirming the work for 7:30 AM. Full compliment of crew were on site at 7:15AM and with the exception of a couple of breaks and lunch time, no one stopped until job was finished at 5:15PM. We could not be more pleased with Montero's - fair pricing, excellent work and professional crew. Besides that, our yard and trees have never looked better in the 17 years we have lived here. They were neither the least or most expensive of the estimates we requested, but they were without a doubt the best one. Job well done!

Orlando Montero's office said that they would be there at 7:30 am and they were exactly on time. The owner was present as well. There was lots of debris, but is was all cleaned-up. They did an excellent job.

I contacted Montero and was very pleased with their quick response to schedule the estimate. The job could not begin right away as their schedule was booked, but I totally understand prior commitments so that was fine. Job was scheduled within 1 week of estimate and crew showed up on time and were very professional. Orlando was informative and very communicative through-out the process. I am extremely happy with the service I received and will use them again in the future.

.I called Mr. Montero on the weekend before our service was done.He contacted me by email and came over to look at the job, then emailed me again with an estimate. I emailed back agreeing to the contract, at which time he told me he might have a cancellation for the next saturday, & could do the work then if that was ok. I told him absolutely, come on over on saturday and that's what they did. They (Orlando and his three workers), were at my house at 7:15am on saturday 3-1-2014, worked all day until 5:00. they did all the work we had talked about and completely cleaned and cleared away all the branches and leaves. Leaving my yard looking amazing! The work entailed: Trimming and thinning 3 large black olive trees, 1 live oak tree, remove one tree/bush, trimming a large seagrape tree, trimming 6 palms. They were prompt, pleasant, and very professional. We are very happy with the work done by Mr. Orlando Montero and would recommend his services to everyone.

We got several quotes and Orlando's price was extremely fair. He was punctual for our meetings. On the day of planting, his crew worked fast and they did a nice job of accommodating our requests as the work progressed. All around, it was a really pleasant experience. We intend to use Orlando for our other landscaping needs.

Orlando Montero came to see my property the day I called him. Within two days he had emailed me a proposal. I had some questions which we resolved via email and text. Orlando scheduled the work within ten days of his original visit and came right on time. Orlando is very knowledgeable and professional. His workers are presentable and polite. They were artful in the execution of the work and my palms look better than they ever have. They left a little bunch of baby coconuts on each palm with is very pretty. I have used quite a few slice and dice tree services who get the job done, but Montero's attention to detail is unmatched. Orlando personally supervises the work and inspects each tree before and after trimming. They left my yard so clean that it was hard to believe they had removed so much material. They cleaned the street and driveway where they were chipping the debris and left my pool deck spotless. My specimen reclinata is beautiful. It is the centerpiece of my back yard and I have not let anyone touch it since it was planted nine years ago. Montero trimmed it perfectly. I couldn't be happier. Orlando and his workers were very respectful to my elderly parents and were quite accommodating. Orlando is not a tree guy, he is an arborist. His price was about the same as I have paid in the past for far less skilled service. I highly recommend Montero's Tree Service.

My experience with Mr. Montero, Laura the office manager and the crew was wonderful. They were professional, efficient and went out of their way to insure that the job got done right. I received a very reasonable, written estimate by email within a couple of days after Mr. Montero's visit. Laura graciously, patiently answered my numerous calls regarding scheduling of the job and questions for Mr. Montero. The work crew showed up promptly as promised to get the job done. They were professional, respectful, diligent and efficient. The job took two days only being delayed by one day due to rain. They completed the job and left the property neat and clean. I have already called Mr. Montero for another estimate to install new sod on the property. I intend to hire Montero's Tree Service for other services. If you need tree service don't hesitate calling this company! You will not be disappointed they'll get job done well at very competitive prices!

Mr. Montero had to reschedule the original date of service. I was concerned about getting the half of the fire bush removed before the fence came. He himself came over the next day and cut it down and into pieces with a hand saw. The three men who worked with him today were excellent workers with pleasant ways about them. Since I didn't get any other estimates, I don't know how to rate the cost. I suspect that it was very competitive, if not a lot lower than what others would have charged for the same work.

Mr. Montero is more than just a tree trimmer. He is a tree LOVER.* A certified arborist, he really knows his way around a tree and will trim exactly the amount necessary to make the tree look clean and open without harming it. He did a beautiful job gently trimming back a huge Strangler Fig in our back yard and a very tall Cassia that was shading out the other trees in our front yard. As SHOULD be the case when a tree is trimmed, the job made the yard look cleaner and more open, but the tree trimming was not obvious or drastic. A tree is a living organism, not a head of hair, and Mr. Montero and his crew know and respect this. I wish more tree service providers in this area were as conscientious and knowledgeable about trees as Mr. Montero and his workmen are. We were concerned about having the trimming done because of our rabbit sanctuary. But Mr. Montero is a real animal lover (he rescues animals himself!), and was amazingly respectful and careful about the bunnies. All the large branches from the Ficus overhanging their territory were carefully lowered with ropes, not just dropped. His workmen did not use spikes (harmful to the tree!) to climb into these very large trees; they got up with ladders and strapped in with safety harnesses and ropes. Not a leaf of any of our other landscaping was harmed! He did an absolutely beautiful job. Mr. Montero even noticed a few problematic areas on trees we had not contracted to have trimmed, and he just went ahead and fixed those problems without charging us. It just made him happy to make the trees look better. Mr. Montero's crewmen probably could have done the job unsupervised. But Mr. Montero was on the job site the entire time, guiding his workers and telling them *exactly* where to make a cut so the tree would recover and not be injured or grow back in a dangerous way (as would be the case when a tree is "hat-racked"--something that rightfully upsets Mr. Montero.). Everyone on the crew was friendly and professional. We walked the yard and I was really impressed by their knowledge of the names and features of many of the unusual plants and trees we have acquired from Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens over the years. It was like finding kindred spirits who love plants as much as we do. If you want a tree service that will maintain and fix your trees and landscaping with their long-term health and beauty in mind, and who will have the utmost concern and care for your pets and your property, Montero's Tree Service is the one to call. We will definitely hire them in the future for trimming and landscape upkeep. They are truly a pleasure to work with! *As an aside, I teach botany at the University of Miami, so I know a little bit about trees. I hope this lets you know that I'm serious about Montero's Tree Service's expertise, and know where I'm coming from. :)

As promised, the Owner, Mr. Orlando Montero arrived at 8:00 a.m. with two large trucks and three workers to be begin work. They did an amazing job! Our property has never looked better. A lot of plant material had become overgrown and unmanageable, such as the bamboo, 40' high and trees needed to be thinned out/ lowered, to avoid damage in a wind storm. We also had a problem with a very old, thick hedge of Bougainvilla overlapping the walkway to the front door. They were able to trim this back and stablize it as it had become top heavy in one area. All these men worked in unison with each other and they accomplished an incredible amount of work in about 8 +/- hours. Mr. Montero is a certified Arborist and while I appreciate the fact that he made aesthetic improvements to our landscaping, I value our plants and trees and feel confident that they will flourish and survive any heavy weather which may come along. I would recommend Montero's Tree Service to anyone, residential or commercial. You need to have experienced people doing this kind of work, licensed and insured!

First , Montero's Tree Service removed the old termite ridden trees that were a danger to my roof. They were a constant food supply for the new termites attacking my house. Beautiful new palms and plants were installed in their place. This property is perfectly maintained bi-weekly without any problems . I will continue this long standing relationship and certainly recommend them to others. P. S. I found Montero's Tree Service here on Angies List !!

I recently purchased a home in Coral Gables. Mr Montero looked at the property and made a plan to do some long overdue maintenance on the trees. He sent his estimate with the scope of work listed above. He and his crew were on time the day the work was scheduled and Mr. Montero supervised everything. Some of the work was really high in the air, because branches from one of my neighbor's huge trees were overhanging my roof. They did a really good job, not just pruning it back, but making it look very natural and attractive. They removed a lot of choking vines, so now the neighbor's tree looks healthier, improving the appearance of my house. The Sea Grape tree in my front yard had some serious issues due to neglect, but now it has a shape and looks much healthier. All the work was completed - they did even more than I was expecting them to, without additional charge. Overall, the experience was great and I will definitely keep them on my list.
